Centuries ago, a primal magic surged from the earth's depths, fueling empires but twisting it's inhabitant and the world into corruption's grasp. Forests blackened, skies bled shadow, and rivers turned to poison.
But a less prevalent radiant energy was also born, and hidden within pure warriors, the Luminaries. Armed with the light, their goal is to reclaim the land, hurling back the blight.
Yet the Luminary's gift is double-edged, immortality that tempts the soul. Every 80 years, Luminaries must yield their light to a successor, or risk eternal decay. Defiant ones hoard it, swelling into godlike tyrants of darkness, the Ebonarchs
As a new Luminary, rise in power. Shatter the Ebonarch's abyssal power source to strip their immortality, and strike them down. Together with your fellow Luminaries, push back the Darkness with Light.

I want to support small teams and their passions, and I honestly feel horrible refunding this but it looks like I'm going to. What's here isn't enough content for the $20 USD asking price. It shouldn't have been released to early access in this state. So many things are missing, like NPCs, the world feels small, there is no feedback when you're taking damage until it's too late and you're dead, the physics can get you stuck in crevices and makes jumping up to higher ground really cumbersome and glitchy. In its current state, it feels like a tech demo. I'll rebuy it when it's more fleshed out.
The game has promise. It reminds me of old xbox era oblivion. Feels nostalgic. But it's not 2006. Combat feels clunky, rough. The camera constantly spazzing mid combat makes knowing where you are and where the enemies are feels like a chore to deal with. Your abilities push you forward so far that sometimes you just miss the enemy you were locked onto and throw your ability into the trees behind them. Enemies are all too eager to surround you and there isn't a way to dodge or push your way out of them so while you're fighting one in front of you, there are four others on all sides of you killing you. You have to wait for them to make an opening so you can get out of the group. However, the combat system itself doesn't feel bad. It just needs some revision. Enemies actually stagger when hit, which makes it feel like you're actually doing something, instead of the same old trope of the enemies that tank all of your hits and don't blink. The biggest negative I have is the empty space. There is so much map, and so little to do in it. Run around, kill the same goblins over and over(because right now there is only goblins and golems, and there's only a handful of golems), try to find the 108 chests and 25 gnomes that are nestled in wherever the hell parts of the map, and try not to get bored. I get it, it's an early access game. But I was expecting more upon reading that the demo had a "very positive" review. In it's current state, I cannot recommend it. But, I will not ask for a refund, because I do see promise in it. If the developers continue to nurture this idea, and listen to their player feedback, I have a feeling that this can become an amazing game.

I've literally never written this in a review before, but: This game was not ready for release, even EA release. This could be a really good game with a lot more work. The devs are very responsive and I believe they will put in the work. I will revisit this game as it progresses.
I’m not getting the same level of graphics as shown by the developer. The video shows players mining minerals, but that isn't in the game. (Apparently, there is a pickaxe in the game. According to the developer.) There is no crafting system. It’s a pretty empty map with just a few goblins. The promotional video doesn't show the full extent of how much work the game apparently still needs. I’m somewhat disappointed; I was really looking forward to the game based on the video. I will keep an eye open and keep this in my Whislist for now.
The combat is neat, the movement and everything is fluid. But, when they say "explore" in the trailer I kind of assumed the map would be large, with stuff to do. But it's a very small map, with basically nothing to do. I understand it's a small team of two, but I think it needed much more work, and activities before it's released even into early access. I'm refunding it, simply because it's boring, the map is tiny, and I'd rather not wait around for a game I'd enjoy playing. When they release it in full, with stuff to do I'll reconsider; but right now I can't recommend this game to anybody that's looking to kill time.
Engisch: On the positive side: The graphics are cute and pleasant, and the combat isn’t too difficult, although it can become quite challenging when you’re facing multiple enemies. And that pretty much covers the positives. Now for the questions: Why can’t I freely remap the keyboard controls? Who thought it was a good idea to put target lock on TAB of all keys? What’s the point of having a map when I can barely even tell where I am on it? It’s confusing, offers hardly any useful markers or navigation aids, and is practically useless for finding your way around. Story? Non-existent. Quests? If there are any, they’re doing an excellent job of hiding. And why am I constantly collecting stones and other materials when the game doesn’t properly explain what I’m supposed to do with them? Overall, the game gives me the impression that it was released far too early. Sure, it’s Early Access – but for my taste, this is simply way too “early.” There’s a decent foundation here, but at the moment, much of it feels more like an unfinished framework than a game that’s ready to charge people money.
is a very good game but i had beat the whole game under one hour with a friend and there is to many bugs i am willing to rebuy the game one day again but for only under a hour of gameplay is not worth 17 or 20 is more wroth 5 to 7
Sadly at the game's current state: Not recommended. Why didnt I refund? Well, I see the potential and really hope devs will be able to finish what they envisioned and started. The foundation is solid but to charge £20 for a mostly empty map - honestly not worth that kinda money. PROS: Easy combat, leftclick for attack, rightclick to block and special attacks on Q & E. Simple but it works. Big plus is that when you hit enemies they actually recoil/stagger so you "feel" you're landing strikes -something even some AAA games don't. Movement is fairly fluid, a bit janky sometimes but not gamebreaking. Jump, glide, swim, etc feels responsive and fast bc you're going to run around A LOT. Pretty stable build on my specs - in 3 hours gameplay I only got 1 crash which imho is pretty good for an EA title. And it supports DLSS. Gamemechanics are simple and easy to learn. Game reminds me of Palia (exploring/visuals), ZELDA BotW and Skyrim (combat part). I enjoyed those titles so for me it's a positive thing. Cons: The big one: World is pretty but it's mostly empty - big map dotted with some enemy camps - no roaming mobs except for the occasional deer. As stated, it's EA so not very much enemy variation, goblins and golems (only seven of those though). Exploring feels bland bc map is so empty and the enjoyment of finding a "hidden" chest is ruined by the lackluster loot. Weapon system at current state is also a bit disappointing. A bunch of onehanded swords, 2-3 bows and one shield. Weapon skills are few - most of them are labeled "Coming soon". Armor is fully missing - I've found three outfits so far and they're all for cosmetic use. TL;DR: A typical EA title that could've cooked a bit longer. I enjoyed the actual gameplay when I found someting to actually do but about 75% of the time, I was just running through a pretty but empty world. My advice is to wait and look for future content updates before buying if £20 feels a bit too much for a - as an another reviewer called it - tech demo.
As everyone has already said, yes this game is early access, Alpha stage. However, Aside from that. It's a beautiful game. Amazing scenery and I am in love with the Sakura trees. (My favorite flower) Also, you can't go wrong with spending your relaxing day slaying goblins. Sit back, run around, and slay goblins to your hearts content along with the giant golems. It's great. It has SO much potential and it's there. I give 100% praise to the two devs. That takes alot of dedication and being communicative on their discord server and friendly is amazing and wonderful. I can't wait for the updates as they come. I definitely recommend this game. Come check it out and watch it flourish!
Characteranimationen wirken an manchen Stellen steif.
