Balatro Meets Aim Training. Extremely Addictive. Cant put it down. Loads of ways to twist n turn your games around and at the same time improve your click timing. Please Keep updating and polishing great stuff.
Why would a 40+ year old dude want to play an Aim Trainer dress up as Balatro? Well that's simple I wanted something close to the Light Gun games of my Youth, to train my lagging aim (built in ping on my old body is harsh) and to score chase at the same time! You get a selection of guns (pistol, rifle, sniper, shotgun) to start with and more unlocked in harder difficulties. The guns all act differently and come with different bullets types as standard. A Shotgun comes with 4 explosive bullets as a Rifle comes with a lot of guardian bullets. You get perks and challenges like you would with Balatro and even the boss room comes with a non negotiable challenge! (it is a boss after all) There are many difficulties to the game which add extra challenge to the game a bit like Darkest Dungeon, but this is where the game hits a snag for me! "You do not need to be an FPS expert. Lucky Shot is designed for shooter and deckbuilder players alike: strong aim can push a build further, while smart synergies and magazine planning can turn every shot into something spectacular." That would be true but once you get to the second difficulty "Quick Draw" the first shop is a bit gated. You see the game unlike Balatro, it is pure RNG! In the sense that if you buy no items in the shop your likely to get the same score again providing you hit the same amount of targets, essentially you need to buy something to progress. So for the first target without modifiers in quick shot is 200 points which is basically 10 shots no misses, if you miss you need 11, simple enough. But if you don't get anything useful in your shop because I don't believe any of the items are weighted out of the first shop, you will need to get 400 points without help. This is doable but quite a challenge and I feel it gates the first level off a bit. If you do get a Blue drink or a Perk that actually gives you points or multi then your good to go. I just feel in the first shop having to pay for your reroll when nothing good is in the shop also does not help. But despite its early balancing issues the game is fantastic and well worth the money! It definitely beats having ten goes on House of the Dead / Time Crisis / Point Blank and if you can get a Buddie to play with you even better! It's my new addiction for a bit, but I can't understand why this game tried to melt my 1070 so much! The fake retro look does not mean it won't try to melt you graphics card and no Scan lines are not cool... Happy Hunting Gamers This game is a blast!

this game abslouately freaking rocks
I've spent an embarrassing amount of time playing Lucky Shot, and now that the full game is finally out, I can confidently say that it has become one of those games where I keep coming back for "just one more run." What I love most about Lucky Shot is how well it combines mechanical skill with roguelike buildcrafting. Your aim genuinely matters, but knowing how to build around what you're given matters just as much. There are so many different synergies and ways to approach a run that even after hundreds of runs, I'm still finding new interactions and strategies to experiment with. The gameplay loop is incredibly addictive. There's always another score to chase, another build to try, or another way to optimize a run. The leaderboard adds another layer on top of that, especially when you're competing with people who have spent just as much time figuring out the game as you have. The community is also a huge part of what makes the game special. Watching people discover ridiculous builds, share strategies, compete for scores, and push the game further has been genuinely fun. And the developers deserve a lot of credit here: they actually listen to the community. Feedback doesn't just disappear into a void—you can see the influence of player feedback in the development of the game. For transparency, I'm good friends with the developers and I've spent a lot of time playing Lucky Shot. I'm constantly high up on the leaderboard, so obviously I'm not exactly an unbiased reviewer. But honestly, the amount of time I've put into this game is probably the best explanation for why I'm recommending it. If I didn't genuinely enjoy it, I wouldn't have kept playing this long. Now that the full game is released, I can wholeheartedly recommend Lucky Shot. If you enjoy roguelikes, score-chasing, build experimentation, and games where improving your own mechanical skill actually makes a difference, give it a shot. And be prepared to lose a lot of hours to "one more run."
"Lucky Shot!", she said.
This is what I'd call a FPS infinite shooting gallery with a roguelike twist. The variety of random items like special bullets, trinkets, and charms is actually quite extensive. Building strong combos is key here just like other roguelikes. You also need luck on your side as always with any roguelike. Overall the gameplay is fun and pretty straightforward. Shoot as many targets as you can, but try not to miss. Missing affects your multiplier unless you're lucky enough to find items that work in your favor. I wasn't 100% thrilled with the design of the targets, but the perfect gameplay loop more than makes up for that. They are targets after all and they do change as you get further. I didn't like the theme in the beginning stages so much and the 6th stage has the best design. They did grow on me though, and here's to hoping the devs add more stages in the future. The design of the weapons is exceptionally well done. The shotgun and sniper rifle so far are my favorite choices. The laser machine gun thingermobober just kinda sucks, or at least I suck with it. There's a lot of other weapons to unlock by winning runs and I have yet to try them all. I recommend Lucky Shot if you're looking for a FPS roguelike with a simple gameplay loop that's easy to pick up but hard to master. It's also a great game to use as an FPS trainer of sorts, helping hone your response skills in general. I'm glad that a game like this has come around. It makes the unfun and dredging task that is aim training actually fun, and its a roguelike that is a fps game. The pvp mode and co-op mode are pretty cool and im glad that its implemented rather than having to come up with the rules and lives as some other games have you do. Overall good game!
So not only do i get to warmup to play my current toxic relationship game deadlock, I also get to watch a number go up to obscene levels of E numbers like i'm back binging Balatro again. Count me in, Take my money,
This game is special man. If you love breaking your roguelikes, this one is for you. Also free aim training with it!
This is a true hidden gem roguelike. Imagine if aimlabs were turned into a Balatro-like/roguelike and you have the core idea of Lucky Shot. Shooting targets and building your run with different modifiers, fancy bullets, and crazy combos. Not only is the game innately very fun (and accessible) since shooting targets is inherently a good time, it also comes packed with content. There are so many unlockable weapons (basically entirely new ways to play the game), and difficulties to strive for. Also a tonne of different 'holos' (this games take on Balatro Jokers) with crazy synergies to discover. Good aim definitely helps, but I have found depending on the weapon you can still win a run without being the best shot ever. Also worth noting that playing something like this will improve your aim over time, and transfer to any FPS. Could use this as a juiced up aim-trainer/warmup that actually has fun roguelike gameplay instead of simply clicking targets. Plus it has multiplayer, which I have yet to try, but that alone is worth the price if you have a friend to play it with. Anyway; I love this game and am amazed that this core concept had yet to be done. So fun to just "do one more run" and keep trying to win that next hardest difficulty. Runs are fast, engaging, and always different too. Definitely reccommend you check the game out if you like roguelikes/balatro-likes and think it looks cool, you won't be disappointed!
