This game is actually so good that it has become my new hyperfixation. It's just so good that my review cannot do it justice and I don't even know where to start. If the premise interests you even in the slightest, seriously give the game a go. The art is fantastic, the characters are enchanting and diverse, the story is immaculate, and optional contents (side quest/secrets) are very rich to the point that you can easily skip a lot of it because this game has so much. The soundtracks are great and convey emotions perfectly. Like you can’t tell me that “Iron Crown”, “Beautiful But Wrong”, “Exposure”, and “Outside the Window” aren’t absolute bangers. They are SO fitting for the scenarios that they play. Despite being a horror game, it’s actually surprisingly wholesome and not all that scary which I think is a good thing. That made the game stand out to me because I got to experience horror in another way. The game focuses on psychological and body horror over cheap jumpscares and I’ve only been scared three times throughout the entire game (Twice within the first hour and once while experiencing one of the endings in a twenty-something hour playthrough). My favorite part about Look Outside has to be how it subverts many horror cliches. Horror tends to focus on portraying the worst of people while cosmic horror in particular loves to emphasize the insignificance of humanity but NOT THIS GAME. It actually subverts quite a few cliques. Of course that doesn’t mean bad things won’t happen. Some of the endings are brutal, you can make immoral choices, and you constantly see people suffer terrible fates, but at the same time, you are often rewarded for kindness, some of the characters (even seemingly untrustworthy) will help you, and you still get to do normal everyday stuff like playing games or cooking meals. It’s strangely heartwarming when the world is ending but you are surrounded by allies who are going through it with you. Your companions have distinct personalities and I think each one has an optional side quest. They feel more like humans and less like a pawn for you to control in combat. When you cook meals or play video games, they may engage in banter or conversations with you or each other which makes the game feel human somehow. Empathy within humanity juxtaposes with apathy from the great beyond which gives both sides more meaning. I really recommend that you go in blind to really experience the game for all that it has to offer, and then if you liked the game enough, start another playthrough to experience what you missed. Reading the wiki or looking stuff up can seriously spoil the story or ruin the atmosphere so be careful what you read or see. There’s something special about seeing the ending area for the first time or not knowing who you can trust. It was kind of magical to play the game wondering what was actually outside for a very long time and then finally seeing it after hours and hours of gameplay. Most horror games love being cryptid, setting up for a sequel or attracting theorists, but I think Look Outside does a pretty good job of answering most questions and tying loose ends which was a breath of fresh air. I know some people hate to miss things on their first playthrough but the game is kinda made to be replayable. There are 17 companions each with unique skillsets but you only have 3 party slots so you can't utilize all of them effectively in a single playthrough anyways. In addition, there’s a 15 day time limit and unless you have prior game knowledge, there’s almost no way you are able to collect all of them. I’m just so glad I had minimal spoilers for my first playthrough because it made it that much better. However, the game isn't without flaw either. My biggest gripes are the clunky UI for items and crafting and progression. Most usable items are grouped at the top for easy access in the items menu but not all and I don't know why. For example, I hated how duct tape is at the bottom despite being usable, meaning I would have to scroll much further down every time I want to use it. There's crafting which is cool but also a little clunky. You have to craft items individually so there's no way to mass craft. The game saves recipes that you have already crafted but it doesn't tell you possible outcomes while selecting ingredients. I think it should tell players before they select rather than after but maybe that's a game engine quirk and hard to implement? For progression, I personally think the middle/late game areas had too many mazes. War zone and sewer are cool concepts but felt annoying to traverse since they were massive with few important rooms. It felt weird to finish one maze and then almost immediately start another because that section sorta blends together for me. In my first playthrough, I got sick of those areas and rushed through most of it but explored more in my second run. That's my least favorite section and the part that I dread the most on replay. It just feels...tedious? Outside of that, I don't really have complaints. The good definitely outweighs the bad. Oh also by the way, the game has a great sense of humor too. One of the companion’s abilities is literally doxxing your enemy lol. Yeah anyways. Great game. It made me laugh. It made me feel despair. But it also made me feel triumph. It’s been a long time since a game was able to make me feel many emotions so deeply. To the game, I want to say “I will not forget you. I will think about this for a long time.”

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I believe this is truly cosmic horror done right. Not only each anwser raises more questions, but the more you know, the worse it gets. However I really enjoy that the game does not put you through this constant state but hits just right - when it's funny, it really is funny then. The mood does not waver and everything is perfectly balanced, both in lore and in the game mechanics. And don't get me started on how incredible each design is, they're all so distinct and memorable. Love love love!!!
i'm very far from done with this game but already in the first four hours I have to conclude that I've never played a game with this level of creativity when it comes to horror, body horror specifically. I'm not an expert in the genre but my god, how every new room and every new encounter unsettles you and makes you shiver in an entirely different way. All of this in this a genuinely fascinating setting. I am so excited to continue this journey and can only recommend you join in.
Yet another case of an RPGmaker game so good, it topples modern AAA titles in terms of pure quality. Look Outside is a game that makes you feel like your character is just a part of a world that lives and changes around you on its own. The game offers you choices at every turn, it makes you feel like every moment in time matters, because all the other things you haven't tackled develop on their own. The plot is phenomenal, The hooks are captivating and the humour is always timed well and never overstays its welcome. 10/10 game, go buy it!
Cool story and characters
Look Outside is a must have. An 'at least try it' if you can stomach the visuals. Its' music deserves its own review. You can sing its' praises like it is the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ King in Yellow. And at the end of the day, when it beats you down and drags your ass to 'whatever just killed you fate worse then hell', props itself up as a rogue-like. You will want to start your entire game over if not load a prior save and do stuff differently, see what changes then use the best new game feature any game can have, knowledge checkpoints. Didja ♥♥♥♥♥♥' learn? This game is filled with so much flavor text it is surprising they had time to make a game around it. That potted plant outside your apartment *had* your spare key, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wish I didn't check that. Then somehow they managed to make so many ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sprites that every few minutes you are saying "what the ♥♥♥♥ am I looking at". Then if you don't kill that ♥♥♥♥ fast enough you say "Oh god, they somehow made it worse". Not in a disrespectful way but in admiration of trying to understand what it is and what it is about to do, a core tenet of cosmic horror. But allow me to go on length about a minor NPC design, skip next section if you don't care. Look at Kaeley, every part of them screams lockpicking toolkit was thrown into a blender, from the various bent fingers, to the spring lock teeth, the keyhole eyes and just the various holes in their body and if it wasn't apparent enough, dangling keys. But then you have the flavor, when she speaks she has a K-k-k- stutter with Ks, like the sounds you'd make if you were locking picking. They didn't have to do that but that is how much thought went behind this one minor character with a singular purpose. Which brings me to the final appreciation of the design, RESTRAINT. They didn't throw in a random door knob or go "well you unlock safes too" so give her some tumblers or a keypad those lock too, NO! they stopped. The only thing you could argue about missing from her design is slots for disks because that is a major locking mechanic in the game. For a stark contrast look Bobby in Date Everything. Not that the design is bad this was just a joke. This game has excelled in every metric and all of my complaints about it are: I just don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like turnbased rpgs and I don't want to be coddled and have this game change in anyway to appease me. This game is a love letter to horror in ways I didn't think were possible and even if you think you know what is going to happen it subverts and pulls on your heart. THIS GAME. Makes you feel bad sometimes. It will make you think your doing the right thing and then guide you with helpful reminders of what you were doing or who was looking for something; only to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ release a reference to a popular horror story that makes you go: Oh ♥♥♥♥. You know how bad this is and urgent this must be stopped. Then it puts you on a clock, gives you choices and now, live with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ consequences. And sometimes those consequences are so bad it makes you say: *ahem* Look Outside is a must have.
