Really fun and unique space farming sim! Characters are all very likeable/ well thought out, and it has a nice lil space exploration storyline running through (although I haven't quite got to the end of it yet!) Some unique mechanics that I have really enjoyed: - Instead of seasons, you have planets! You can travel back and forth to different ones as you feel (it just takes some in game days to warp there) and there's plenty of other little things you can do whilst your in warp and unable to grow crops. - Microbe hunting - fun little extra minigame/ collection, I like the hot/ cold method of locating them, and it's a nice switch up to the 'bug' hunting that you get in other games -Working on your captain rank - nice extra goal to be working towards and pulls together the variety of activities you're doing as captain (I know it's not super ground break, but it is a nice additional layer c: ) At 62hrs played, I still have at least one more planet to explore (although maybe 'explore' is a bit of lie - they are very similar in function to the mines in Stardew/ Harvest moon, a nicely polished version of that kind of dungeon though and each one comes with a new crew member or two c: ) and I still can't decide who to marry! I trailed off due to a shiny new game catching my eye, but I intend to come back and finish this soon! I shall update my review if the last bit of the game gives me any additional thoughts, but as it stands, I heartily recommend this to any farming sim fans c:

Little-Known Galaxy was the first game since Stardew Valley to explode my heart with the same kind of happiness. It is such a unique take on the farming sim genre. The dates and Friendship Day were the sweetest and some of the cutest cut scenes I've ever seen. Progression of the game was well paced. Critics will say it's grindy, to which I say... isn't every farming sim at some point? Loved the NPCS. Another game I wish had merch. I think the only drawback is that I missed traditional fishing. Even after finishing the storyline, I know I'll play this over and over again.
Bit of a grind and lacking charm to make the game something special, which is a shame as the game clearly has a lot of potential. This game doesn't really add anything new to the genre, other than being set in space, and really needs some balancing of the level of grind required to do just about anything. As a result, I didn't get the same feeling of satisfaction and progress as I have in other similar games. I really wanted to love this but sadly it was disappointing.
I'd recommend this game with some SERIOUS qualifications. Even more so after the recent update; the inventory management/transfer system was bollocks from the beginning, but now it is even WORSE. Yes, I appreciate the new buttons that let you automatically transfer items between inventory/storage (FINALLY), but the devs simultaneously removed the one-click transfer option and changed it to a "click to split stack" thing, and there's no way I could see to revert to the old options in the settings. This boggles my mind considering there are a million cozy games that have already figured out the optimal way to manage inventory... WHY TRY TO REINVENT THE WHEEL?? This game has a TON of potential, and is often (but not often enough) incredibly fun to play if you enjoy cozy games and want a space theme. However, it has some SERIOUS BALANCE ISSUES that DESPERATELY need to be resolved. You will find yourself grinding super repetitive "dungeons" (e.g. the mines in Stardew) OVER AND OVER just to get a few measly ores that you will desperately horde to upgrade your equipment only to find that they offer only MINOR benefits. Even worse. the portals that take you to the next level spawn much more commonly when digging (which yields only $h!+ resouces), versus mining (which gives the stuff you actually need), meaning you will have to often sacrifice valuable resources just to advance. BUUUUUT advancing seems to yield no benefit... the RNG doesn't appreciably reward exploration in deeper levels with any sort of meaningful increase in available resource nodes. There are numerous other game mechanics like this that result in the exact same feeling... TOO MUCH WORK FOR TOO FEW BENEFITS. I LOVE the characters, the story, the art, the look, the feel, the writing, the sprites, the character customization... THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS TO LOVE ABOUT THIS GAME! But for the love of God and all that is holy, whoever is in charge of the interface and the RNG end of things has to be a SADIST. It's literally ruining what would otherwise be an amazing game. I keep wanting to play because of how great the story/characters are, but then I find myself playing through ONE DAY and remembering what torture it is to make any sort of meaningful advancement before just going to bed to save and close. TLDR: An awesome game if you don't mind banging your head against the wall repeatedly. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SAVE THIS GAME BY MAKING PROGRESSION JUST A EVEN A TEENSY BIT EASIER.
Little-Known Galaxy is an inexplicably almost successful blatant ripoff of Stardew Valley with a "pixelcrap space theme from Temu" skin slathered over it to try make it look like the developers didn't just wholesale steal someone else's entire game concept and put their name on it. So, exactly like Stardew Valley, you show up in "town" (space, whatever) and meet NPCs and help them out and do endless farming chores... and part of why Stardew Valley succeeded despite all odds is because the developer of that, by accident, hit all the right notes and balance to make the game involved but not tedious. The developers here are the worst cover band ever and every note is off-key, there's a tortured music analogy for you. Worse, they couldn't come up with the same amount of content, so they upped the already monotonous grind to stretch everything out. And of course the writing here is absolute cringe, high school anime club dropout fan-fiction stuff. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. This looks a lot like it was designed for consoles, but released on Steam instead by mistake. While this is on PC, it has all the hallmarks and deficiencies of a console game, from the clunkier than needed control scheme to the less than cutting edge graphics. There's 10's of thousands of PC games on Steam, and PC gamers deserve only the best. This might not appeal to many gamers due to the lack of PC-centric design. It's unclear why this never made it to the video game console appliances it seems to have been designed for. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. While there are options to change the resolution for the game, all this does is scale up the simplistic 2D art assets used to make the game, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the lacklustre 2D visuals. Those technical issues put this game beneath what is expected from a contemporary, professionally developed PC game. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 140,000+ games on Steam? Little-Known Galaxy has the preposterous price of $20 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. For comparison, the INSANE $20 asking price for this game could get you games like "Satisfactory", "Age of Empires IV" or "The Outer Wilds". No pixelcrap is worth $20. If developers want to get paid the same kind of money as real game developers who know how to do graphics properly, they need to learn how to do graphics properly.
Loved the premise of space ship and exploration. The crew, planets, crafting and music are all alright. Not a fan of the loooong wait on resource processing. So much that it makes me want to drop to neutral rating if I could. Prepare to be patient.
while I love farming, exploration and cozy-games - this game is way too "cozy". It's more on the edge of boring than it is on a relaxed cozy game. Progress is super slow, walking speed is super slow, character development and relationship buildup is suuuuper slow, collecting resources is suuuuper slow. in short: while i love the overall game style and art, i very much dislike the motivation, progress and reward mechanics other games in the cozy-game sector offer.
I found this game boring after a few hours.
Cozy farming/life sim set on a spaceship. It's a fun play, simple storyline but just enough tasks and mystery to keep it entertaining. I'd describe the aesthetic as friendly and pixelated. The music was decent too.
Conflicted no from me. I can tell the studio cares about the game they made but as far as space cozy's go, there are better titles out there that I would recommend more. One Lonely Outpost does a much better job of the cozy side of things. If you want space travel with a bit more action, I could recommend a (modded) Starbound. This game just falls short... Instead of feeling the incentive of really filling up my days in game, I found myself skipping through time just so I could finish quests. Walking is slow, the upgrade you can unlock for walking isn't enough of a difference to justify the cost, a lot of upgrades are unnecessarily grindy imo and the exploration on the planet is just the same thing time and again but with a different look to it. I am going to probably try to play a bit more but right now it just doesnt do enough new things to captivate me.
