Best Lego game ever!

For my collection, I had to do at least one LEGO game, and since I love Lord of the Rings, I went with that. Surprisingly, I had a lot of fun with it because I didn’t take it too seriously. The story is one of the greatest of all time, but that’s thanks to LOTR, not really the game itself—although they did make a few changes for humor’s sake, and I can’t lie, some of them made me chuckle. Now to the part I didn’t enjoy… for the 100%, you basically have to go back to the story missions to reach previously inaccessible areas because you didn’t have the character you needed at the time. Game: 5/10 100%: 4/10

Hello, welcome all Chuds, Gamers, and other Nerds. I aim to 100% all the games that catch my eye and join the sea of reviews on this platform. Most will never read this, but I will review the games I find simply and thoroughly. 1 What is "LEGO Lord of the Rings?" A beat em up / collectathon utilizing the Peter Jackson “Lord of the Rings” trilogy (“Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King”) via a Lego environment in which you build with and interact with Lego. 2 What does this game play like? Mostly a puzzle and beat em up style game with a few stealth and on rails action set pieces. Simple rankings Story 10/10: The Lego games have two main branches. Some Lego games utilize the setting ("LEGO Marvel Super Heroes") while creating an original wholesome and funny story to go along with it. Other Lego games follow the movies beat for beat. This game follows the Peter Jackson “Lord of the Rings” trilogy pretty closely, even using voice clips from the movies to limited effect. Ultimately, this is an adaptation of an adaptation, (from book to movies to game) and with that comes some loss of detail, but if you love Tolkien’s work, you should love this game. From the Shire to Mt Doom, go, and destroy the Dark Lord Sauron once and for all. Game play 10/10: This is not one of the classic TT Lego games, yet somehow, they nailed the open world AND the level design (Something they have only done three times [This game and the Lego HP games]). The levels are well made and well paced. The open world has enough content to mess with, but not so much it is boring to deal with, and overall, this is one of the best “LOTR” games period, even outside of Lego. If you want to see the world of Middle Earth in game form, this is a great place to start. Overall 10/10: This game stands among the classic masterpiece video games, and equally alongside the older classic TT Lego games. If you love “LOTR” or have children, this is a great experience, and even if it is just you and you don’t care for “LOTR” this is a masterpiece game worthy of your time. NOTE: This game is buggy, I.E duplicating Minikits and Mithril bricks, VERY glitchy platforming on balance beams / small platforms, and your characters will get stuck frequently. This game won me over regardless, and 99% of the time you will be fine, but upon “clean up” for 100% the bugs are very in your face. Not worth a score penalty, but you should be aware. (Performance tip: Turn on V sync)
