Fun game if you like lego games, but it's a very lazy remaster. Still I can't bring myself to dislike it. The game is fine, the main issue I have is that despite it being a remaster of the old game the issues plaguing the original are still here. For example spell rotation, if you buy a lot of spells that take the same slot, going through all of them is a unintuitive chore. Buying character is also very badly designed, especially in years 1-4, it's an one direction scrollable UI with 200 elements and zero filtering options. I highly discourage you from using it unless you NEED the character's skill set or you've finished collecting all of them. In years 5-7 menu is a bit better but still not ideal. Also the "single player only" text in achievements is an artifact of old times, it will work here just fine. Then why won't they remove that text? For me it's nothing but lazy. The gameplay is okay, just turn off your brain and go with the flow. Most levels feel the same gameplay wise, go forward, destroy few items, create few new items of destroyed bricks, go to the next part. But well it's a typical lego game so don't expect super engaging gameplay if you are playing casually. The story is.. well it's here but if you somehow want to play this game without watching the movies, then just don't do it. There's no dialogue, just mumbling, most of scenes are really fast paced and you won't understand a thing. Even I who watched all the movies was confused at times. I understand that the target audience was mainly kids but that doesn't mean it needs to be shallow. A lot of movies and games have a deep story despite being kid family friendly. There's a lot of content in this game, it took us over 40 hours to finish all achievements and it was fun. Getting red bricks allow you to buy "cheat codes" that help with finding collectibles that were almost impossible to find on your own. There were few hiccups on the way but nothing game breaking, usually involving player 1/2 issues. Only if player 1 performed an action it was counted towards achievements. One thing that annoyed us the most was weird one time bug that made our companion's AI broken, he would just go towards one place and don't give a f. It wouldn't be an issue, but he was going into loading zone and moving us to another location. So one of us had to block his path, try to move him into some safe place and only then we could continue with the level. Overall despite it's flaws, if you like lego games, or just want a chill game to play, go for it! But if you are looking for more engaging gameplay or story there's high chance you will find this game boring.

Note: GET THE COLLECTION ON SALE! for around 9 bucks, this isn't a bad collection if you dont own one or both of the games. If you already have both, from what i've experienced the port of 5-7 here is less prone to crashes and major issues compared to the first steam release (there's still small audio pops, but beyond that it's good.) Now, the review! 1-4 slightly edges out as the better lego game here, even though 5-7 does a lot of QOL changes that streamlines the experience, and 1-4 has a lot more filler content inside. This could be my bias, but 5-7 feels more like a slog to experience and finish than 1-4, even when i spent 2 less hours in it compared to the original. My guess is either the feeling of the game is off, or my experience was soured by playing both back to back at once. Not sure. Regardless of which title you play, what you have here is genuinely one of the best lego experiences TT has offered pre skywalker saga (the game where lego games started trying to be bloated AAA slop) you will ever play. It combines story levels with unique hub world segments in a way we wouldn't get much of other than straight up open worlds, and i really love this style. some may call it linear, but honestly it keeps the game fresh compared to other lego games where the hub is the vehicle for the levels, whereas here the hub IS part of the game. And of course, if you know lego games, gameplay consists of levels where you do puzzles and fight. although the puzzles are going to be most of your gameplay, and combat is usually just an afterthought here.(except for 5-7, where it changes up a little, but not much.) If you like lego games, dont want too much of a challenge, need something for your kids (or are one...?) Lego Harry Potter Collection is certainly a game you'll want to get on heavy sale. highly recommended. (also TT i swear to god if you make a AAA slop lego harry potter game that's just "hogwarts legacy but lego!" im going to gouge my eyes out. start making real lego games again.)
I'm currently attempting to 100% all the LEGO games on steam. This one is once again, very monotonous. I had to use a guide more often than not just to find a few things. Other than that, the LEGO Harry Potter games are very enjoyable.

decent game to buy as a lego and Harry Potter fan on a deep sale. 10/10 for the game. 6/10 for this version (encountered a lot sound glitches which affected gameplay in a negative way. moreover, heavy fps drop at one of the levels in 5-7 part of the game for a 10+ year old game is wild). PS I did NOT encounter any game breaking bugs, as far as reviews concerned, i think it depends on hardware ig.
Both LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4 and LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7 are decent lego games but this remastered collection is pretty low effort cash grab. It's called LEGO Harry Potter Collection but you don't get one whole game, you have to start each part via launcher. There are some graphical improvements (better lighting, sharper textures) but if I didn't know that I wouldn't see much difference to be honest. Harry Potter Years 1-4 feels a little dated - graphics are simple, level design is straightforward and there are some minor bugs while exploring Hogwarts Castle (brick/token detector doesn't work properly in some areas). Harry Potter Years 5-7 looks and sounds better and level design is more interesting (I had to repeat some story levels 2-3 times before I was able to find 100% collectibles). It's a shame there's no dialogues, only nods. If you didn't play legacy versions of LEGO HP you should buy it, if you did there's no point playing it again unless you're interested in achievements.

Queria platinar o game, mas minha run acabou bugando. Salvei os 50/50 Estudantes em Perigo, só que o jogo contou apenas 49/50. Teve um estudante, o que fica embaixo da sala do professor Filius, que eu salvei, mas não apareceu a animação confirmando o resgate. Tirando esse bug, o jogo é muito bom. Algumas referências a LEGO Ninjago me broxaram um pouco, e transformaram em humor varias cenas que deveriam ser tristes, tipo a do Cedrico, Sirius Black e até a parte do Medalhão de Salazar Slytherin. Obviamente, fizeram algumas mudanças no roteiro por ser um jogo voltado para crianças, mas nada que prejudique a gameplay. Também curti que respeitaram certos personagens que nunca usaram magia negra na história, mantendo isso no jogo.
