LEGO® Batman™: The Videogame

This is my favorite game of all time

The game is very fun. However, make sure your refresh rate is at 60 hertz and have in game V-Sync on to prevent bugs.

This is game is without a doubt at all the best videogame I have played throughout my entire life. Played this for years on end since I was young and it hasn't gotten old for a second. There is nothing about this game that I dislike every element is so perfectly perfected to the point where its addicting. I cannot fathom somebody disliking this absolute masterpiece. See now, i first played this game back on the ds. the game was very different as they had to cater for the ds' limitations but it in hindsight it translated extremely well. the story remains the same, as well as the each setting of each level. the gameplay consists of puzzles with combat between the puzzles. each puzzle being simple and effective and not too easy to where you dont have to use your brain. the combat is addictive and satisfying having multiple fun moves and combos to learn. the core gameplay is already outstanding which means the base "GAME" is good itself. what makes this game such a phenomenon for me is how it manages to perfect every element like i stated before. they managed to get the core of the video game right while also creating all other parts to the modern videogame great to. such as: THE STORY while not deep, serious or intense. They nail having the classic superhero vs super villain remain feeling new and refreshing despite this type of fictional story being roughly 90 years old. each villain of each chapter is bursting with personality and not just within themselves, but the areas there bosses and levels take place in. the interactions between batman and robin are so lovable and hilarious showing their true dynamic, and i love a funny dynamic between two characters. THE ATMOSPHERE every chapter and every level of that chapter are so earie and creepy which perfectly matched the grim gothic theme of batman, while also embracing the theme of the villain you fight at the end of said level. and something that adds to the atmosphere... THE MUSIC Its so good! so good in fact, that i play the game with no music! ART DIRECTION They somehow keep the dark, unsettling and fearful theme of the batman while using the family friendly childish art style of lego. this creates and a amazing blend that unites a young audience and older audience. its not too scary and not too childish. SOUND DESIGN the sounds are both ambient, and loud and abrupt. turning the game into a little bit of a mini thriller. VOICE ACTING the voice acting by everyone is amazing. yeah i know its all grunts and shouts but they fit the characters okay! LEVEL ARCHITECTURE each room is designed to let you figure it the puzzle yourself. the game doesn't hold your hand too much which usually i hate when the game never hold your hand at all, or rather when there's no hand, sign or indicator what to do. but in this game you get rewarded for figuring something out and they never usually are that hard so its a good balance. USER INTERFACE the ui is good. simple, put effective. GLITCHESS yes even the glitches make the game more fun. its not that buggy at all but i can never forget how excited i got years a go breaking the game on and off purpose. OVERALL: Overall this game is amazing and i love it to death. ever since i first played on my 3ds ive been hooked. even when my dumb stoopid baby brain couldnt jump onto a short ledge. its funny i say all this when my first reaction when i was given the game by my uncle for my birthday was "its not mario" despite this i still played the game and enjoyed it for years apon end, i still own that same ds cartridge and 3ds to this day. and the day the i lose it will be the day everyone dies. even me i aint going to jail. anyways intrusive thoughts aside ill say another time that i love this game so much and cannot recommend this game to you whoever you are reading this. obviously everyone is different and in my opinion reviews on videogames and media as a whole aren't as affective you'd think. just because it has overwhelmingly positive on steam doesnt mean you personally will enjoy it. even if the games good doesnt mean its gonna appeal to everyone. this game tho, i think im gonna make an acception and say it doesnt matter who you are you WILL (most likely) enjoy this game. it is the peak of its craft one the best lego AND batman game out there. please dont waste your breath missing out on this 2008 GEM and consider getting it. its not a bad price for this day and age with the 80 bucks/quid crisis (thanks nintendo) and gta 6 probably being 100. as im writing this its 85% off which is a classic steam amazing deal and probably is even cheaper on other websites. do NOT miss out on this game. give it a chance. this game is the best game of all time.
