LEGO® Batman™: Legacy of the Dark Knight

Very fun but unfortunately does not scratch the lego game itch

Absolutely abysmal performance. It loks great, sure. It's not like it looks THAT much better than DC Super Villains or Skywalker Saga, but it runs like complete garbage.

Pa rapport à tous les anciens jeux Lego que se soit LEGO City, Avengers... les anciens LEGO Batman, la qualité niveau graphisme est très bien travaillé, le jeu est magnifique. Je le recommande en coop ( écran partagé) à faire avec son frère ou sa sœur ou même un pote à toi. Super JEU de fou !

An absolute master piece of a lego game!

Who this game is for: 1. People who absolutely love Batman. This game takes a little bit from every piece of Batman media: from the comics, to the 60s Adam West show, to The Batman with Robert Battinson. If references like a roller coaster being named "The Phantasm", or a billboard of the stage play "Bats!" starring Kirk Langstrom make you point at the screen and say "I know that thing!", you'll have fun. Gotham City feels great to explore, and you really FEEL like (Lego) Batman 2. People who like more modern Lego Games. This isn't like the original Lego Star Wars where you have 100 different characters to choose from. There isn't the same silent characters that had to completely rely on visual gags. The humor was mostly fine, and I had some laugh out loud moments and hardly any eye-rolling ones. It took itself seriously enough that it didn't ALWAYS feel like I was playing a children's game. The levels were all fun enough, but definitely not challenging. Who this game MIGHT be for: 1. If you liked the Arkham games. While the bones of Rocksteadys freeflow combat is there, it's not nearly as fleshed out. I generally disagree with people who claim the Arkham games are just "mash X until you win", but even on the hardest difficulty in Lego Batman it typically was just "mash X until you win". Part of the fun of the Arkham games combat was the freedom of expression, and that's not really here. Who this game is NOT for 1. If you wanted a Lego game with a huge cast of characters, similar to something like DC Supervillains. The cast is pretty small (only 7, and frankly it's 6.5 since you get both ♥♥♥♥ Grayson as Robin and Nightwing) and their abilities are... fine. I mostly just found myself using Batman's Batarangs and chucking them at everyone in combat. They all get their own unique vehicles, but I ended up just using the Bat Pod the most since 1. It's the fastest and 2. It can turn on a dime 2. If you want a complex and deep Batman storyline. The way this game works is; there are 6 chapters, and each chapter tries to cover a different era of Batman, mostly taking inspiration from the movies. The Joker is the best example, as the portrayal is definitely based on the Heath Ledger Joker, yet he still uses the iconic Mark Hamill laugh. One of the biggest casualties to me is Mister Freeze, who has become completely reduced to his portrayal in Batman and Robin: a bumbling moron who can't stop making ice puns. I never hated the story, but I was never completely captivated by it either. Some parts felt extremely rushed, especially the last two chapters. Unless you're an unapologetic Batman fanatic (like myself), definitely wait for a sale. If you have been starving for a good Batman game since the last couple have been pretty mediocre, this is a good way to wash the taste of SS:KTJL out of your mouth.
