is this really worth the title of one of the worst fps games of its generation? no. not at all. yeah, it's buggy but i mean there's buggier out there. it's nothing extraordinary, hell, it's nothing great, but it's not the worst thing i've played
I remember buying this for PS3 upon launch. Biggest waste of $60. This is the game that made me never buy another (full price) game without extensively watching video gameplay to make sure the game was worth spending money on. I got it in a bundle a while back and decided to try it again on PC. My logic being that maybe the PC version is better... maybe its actually playable. Its just as bad. I had such high hopes for this game... I love fantasy and mythology related things. This game had so much potential, and i was so excited for it. IDK if the studio rushed the release, or what the circumstances were. But the game ended up being BAD. full of glitches. clunky controls, even for the time. The fact that it has gone on sale for fifteen CENTS is pretty much a summary of what the game is worth.

Never understood the hate for this game. and its even better on pc.
Just another bland shooter from the late 2000. Concept is actually fun, but the execution… You slog through plethora of sewers and ruins, fighting either the same human enemies or one of few monsters ikn the game (mostly werewolves. You can never have enough werewolves) Devs decided to spice things up with a few jumping puzzles while also making the playable character capable of jumping about 15 cm into air, barely able to jump over most of the obstacles in your path, or lunging like a madman forward with no in-between. Weapons lack weight and the muzzle flash on some of them can blind you. The powers given to you are also sad, as you can literally do only 4 thing with them: absorb and store energy, heal yourself, force push and charge a handful of machines spread throughout the game. Also, if you have more than 30 fps, there’s a high chance you’ll fall through the elevator taking you to the last objective. To rectify it, you must manually limit frames in game files. Game has more bugs and quirks, but I can’t be bothered listing them all. The only good things I can say about the game is that it’s quite cheap, especially when on sale and monster kills of the NPCs are incredibly amusing to witness.
It's probably just because it was a product of its time but I found it pretty average. The controls were janky, jumping was really frustrating. The story was pretty basic. There is a glitch where you fall through the floor in the last elevator of the game where you need to tweak ini files (see game discussions for solution). All in all, it's okay... I think I got it for 99 cents so I got my money's worth in the end.
The premise of someone opening Pandora's Box in the modern age is really cool, and the gameplay isn't inspired but not exceptionally bad. Just derivative. But then the game crashed 3 hours in and reverted my save to the very beginning. That just immediately soured any enjoyment I was having. No amount of Wolfenstein-esque giant castles and stone-paved villages can make me play back to that point.
