Last Heroes appears to have a decent story upon first glance albeit a bit overdone. However upon playing, encounters had a chance to TPK in any given battle, and once an area started to become manageable you'd be headed for a new area to start the whole process over again. Each enemy area is made up of one or two of the same enemies, a large map filled with a couple chests and then a boss fight. You are constantly going back and forth between dungeon and the castle for meetings and a few seconds of backstory dialogue. In one scene you find the main character talking to the only other female cast member about how they can't sleep. Your fellow companion tells you their whole sob story and as you start to tell yours they decide that is the time to say they are tired and want to sleep. When it came to the first true boss dungeon I thought I was in the wrong area as enemies were doing a third to half a characters health a hit. Turns out that was the correct area and even with the best equipment at the time. The boss itself could and would attack a character instakilling them in a single turn, I somehow managed to win with two dead party members through sheer luck. My healer managed to stay alive 90% of the battle, which is the only reason I won it. The overall lack of an appealing story and characters mixed with the constant threat of a TPK from normal encounters makes this a hard pass without any real reason to give it a try. Best thing I can maybe say this game has going for it is some cards but even that isn't much.
