$40, no controller support, not even a way to CHANGE the controls. It's BAD. Edit* tested with 3 different Xbox controllers, 2 PS5 controllers and a SCUF Gaming Controller.
I really wanted this game to be good but was very disappointed...
I wanted to like this game i love the genre and the source material but in no way can i recommend this game at the $35 price point. The enemy models are few and far between and are constantly re-used in the majority of levels, throwing some cosmetic armor on an enemy type doesn't constitute a new enemy.... The spoken audio from the very beginning of the game stood out to me as bad no disrespect to the voice actors it wasn't their fault it's the quality of the recorded voice works sounds apparent that it was botched and has noticeable issues. And then the combat of the game is essentially just 2 buttons and is very limited in the options you have and it doesn't take long for it to feel like a monotonous and repetitive button masher with limited creativity as well as little options to use your swords aside from a special attack. On top of all of that i experienced multiple glitches/bugs in the game enemy characters getting frozen/stuck upright in the middle of the screen and staying there until my character lost one of its lives and then it became unstuck. Another issue that was really annoying was the enemy characters would get stuck off screen essentially stopping you from progressing in the level until you walk all the way back and get them unstuck. All of these issues might have been okay to deal with if this game had a lower price point but at the $35-$40 price point I expect considerably more from the game and I will be getting my purchase refunded because the game just does not have enough to offer and is hard to justify at that price. Which is a bummer cause i really wanted this to be a good game.....

I funded this game on kickstarter and was looking forward to playing a Lady Death beatem up. Now that the game is out I can safely say that this mediocre outing was not worth the wait. The controls are unresponsive, the hit boxes are not great, the enemy movement stutters. This looks like a palette swap of their Phantom game. Is this game worth $40, absolutely not, is it worth $30, again no. I would not pay anything over $7 for an absolute mid tier disappointment like this. There are plenty of other games in this genre offering a better time for a better price. If I could request a refund I would. This game is a wet fart.
It's bad. ⭐⭐ out of ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, has "cheaply made" written all over it. Developers said this was meant to be Golden Axe meets Mortal Kombat. That was enough to hook me into buying it sight unseen on release day. Let my review along with the others keep you from making the same mistake. From the rough controls, combat, music, voice acting, and childish tongue-in-cheek story and themes, this game failed to be anything worth putting time or money into. I think I played it for 20 minutes (maybe less) and had soft locks and other bugs before coming to a hard crash on a boss fight. That was enough for me to ask for a refund. Makes me feel bad for any fans of the Lady Death franchise. These days, there are plenty of beat 'em ups made as homages and continuations of the genre for a lower price tag that are fun and innovative. I'd recommend: https://store.steampowered.com/app/674520/FightN_Rage/ https://store.steampowered.com/app/1967260/Double_Dragon_Gaiden_Rise_Of_The_Dragons/ https://store.steampowered.com/app/418620/The_TakeOver/
This needed more testing. Very buggy, combat was stiff and sluggish. Soundtrack is awesome and visuals are nice but at such a high price tag with so much wrong, I'd say save your hard earned money for something that doesn't release completely broken and boring.
I can't recommend it in this state. As a backer on Kickstarter and a fan this hurts. I never got past the startmenu, even after unplugging my controller (which totally didn't work) the game kept mostly freezing on launch. The few times I did see the opening metal music and Lady Death kicking gory behinds, I was totally hyped but then let down fast. Edit: After a few tries, restarts and a PC restart: I got past the menu! Yay!! Now I have to figure out the keys.. Space is jump and L makes her bend. I guess it's dodge? *sigh* Edit 2 : 'I' is kick 'j' seems to be a punch and movement with the arrow keys Edit 3: no cloud save yet, but should be implemented later. Guess I'll wait a bit to start killing demons on Steamdeck. This and Remote Play would be a great add !
I've never refunded a game on steam before but there's always a first. The protagonist, art style, nostalgia and the killer OST were not enough to save this. The high price tag followed by 2 hard crashes within the first 15 minutes of play brought me straight to the refund button. It's unfortunate as I enjoyed the demo and thought the game had potential. I forgave a lot of the issues in the demo because that's the nature of demos, they're incomplete, but to see glitches, crashes and repetitive animations in a €30 game is too much. This should have launched in early access with an update/patch plan and I would have been far more receptive. For game that crowdfunded and has been in development for so long, it seems massively undercooked. If the devs can address this and make tweaks to the controller support, animations and the crashes then I might revisit. Avoid for now.
Back in the 90's, Lady Death comic book came out and I've been hooked ever since. This game is absolutely killer. Do you like fighting games, side-scroll? This is for you. Definitely classic Lady Death. fun and hard
The Good. The look of the game is gorgeous. It's a game filled with blood, guts and quality kills. There's fifteen stages. You can play with a friend. The combat moves are pretty cool. The different weapons you get are pretty sweet. The soundtrack is awesome! The Bad. One ending to the game. Really. It's really hard to tell what the story is and where it is going. The Ugly. Broken game. Cannot put a price tag on it. The game freezes. The controls act up. The game slows down. Restarting the game due to glitches is frequent. Final Thoughts. Even if all of the bugs are fixed for this game. I don't recommend this game. If the developer fixes the game. It is only worth $10. Just watch a YouTube video of the walkthrough for the game.
After just 13 minutes of play, I encountered two major bugs. About 4 minutes in, the protagonist started moving forward on their own, and at that point, no game-related buttons responded at all—I had to force quit with ALT+F4. On my second attempt, when I reached the first boss, both bosses stood still and didn't attack at all, making it a breeze to defeat them... Those are the two bugs. Now for some other issues: The tutorial menu feels half-baked—many moves aren't taught, leaving players to figure them out on their own. I wonder if the devs just slapped the incomplete tutorial from a demo onto the full release? When executing ↓→ X, the sound effect upon landing a hit is too faint and weak—almost inaudible unless you crank up the volume. The game's art design, music, and overall combat feel are all quite good. It would be a real shame if all the issues mentioned above ended up driving players away.
