About
The indie freeware classic returns! It's been 20 years since visionary Swedish indie developer Nifflas (Rhythm Doggo, Ynglet) released Knytt, the first title in the atmospheric platforming series. Made with the help of a passionate group of internet forum collaborators, the game was released for free on the web in 2006, and later followed up by Knytt Stories (2007) and Knytt Underground (2012). IGN called Knytt "an extremely soothing and memorable ambient adventure", while Edge Magazine remarked it was "pure platforming pleasure and a wonderfully soothing soundscape."
To help celebrate the 20th anniversary, Bit Kid (Chasm, WOLFHOUND) is proud to present Knytt Classic, a free pixel-perfect port with full controller support, achievements, bonus modes, display effects, and much more!
Guide the Knytt, a peaceful being who is abducted by aliens for a cruise across the solar system and ends up crash-landing on another world. Explore the atmospheric, maze-like planet and collect all the parts from your crashed ship in order to return home. As Edge put it, "There’s no combat, no switches, and no real puzzles to speak of, just plentiful checkpoints, pure platforming pleasure and a wonderfully soothing soundscape."

Lovely little remaster of a game I haven't played in 20 years. The native Linux client is very appreciated!
While not *my* formative experience (that would be Within a Deep Forest--if you are to continue bringing these delights to modern systems, please follow onto that,) certainly one of the first indie games to really truly show me what I love about video games. The bespoke world that's not afraid to have dead ends or trudging makes it feel all the more real, and it's overall just a swell hodgepodge of wonderous and wistful scenes that really shows how exploration can be its own reward!!!

Such a lovely little game, and I'm so happy to be able to play it again!
delightful little platformer that is weirdly reminiscent of rain world despite not having survival mechanics. also has amazing music that is stored as OGG files. would definitely recommend to a friend. it took me less than 2 hrs to complete it but i know i missed out on a lot of secrets. asks the question what if you could climb on every single wall in super mario bros and answers it splendidly
Beautiful platformer! The mechanics are very simple; instead, the real feature of the game is the sense of scale and place. There are lots of transient zones you travel between on a mazelike search for missing ship parts. The soundtrack is fantastic and really adds to the sense of exploration. Would definitely recommend!
love to see this game get its flowers. great level design with simple but solid platforming mechanics, lovely atmosphere and music, lots of rooms to explore
What a delight to revisit this after so many years. It still holds up!
Great Remaster of a classic game, a chill and engaging experience, extra game modes are a great addition even if they tend to delve into some Kaizo shenanigans. Highly recommend looking at Nifflas' other works, like Knytt Underground, Within a Deep Forest and NightSky.
