Game was released September 2019 It's march 2024 now, they still did not release the third character. Even most indie games worked on by a single person in their free time get more frequent updates.
I don't want to come off as cynical, but this is a cash grab of a classic flash game with not nearly as much love poured in as the original. This one has 5 classes plus the epic heroes you get handed which are better than any other recruit you could pick, these epic heroes are as I said, handed to you compared to the original game where you happen to find one randomly or win them in a tournament. This original game honestly had more content with more towns/castles with these new dungeons being redundant and tedious, why bring 9 different people with you if your legendary hero and four epics can take on anyone. You'll always end up with pretty much the same exact setup as anyone else playing, there aren't class options for a lot of the recruits, it is linear progression and the leveling system as well as the upgrades are the exact same from the original game. I remember the dragon fight from Odyssey feelings really epic and difficult while this witch one Izula? Is really forgettable and spams the same broken attack that you can't play around, the in combat abilities don't add anything as some barely do anything while others, like the Valkyrie, Witch or Healer's are much better than ones like the Ranger or Gunslinger. The story mode is riddled with pointless drivel called dialogue and cut scenes that change nothing, really takes away from the general vibe of the game to be forced to use these epic heroes you were handed throughout the story to handle certain story missions that most of the time you would have to try to lose. As some other reviews have mentioned, this game has an issues of the devs not caring about it whatsoever, to see such a beloved game that has gotten pretty good success on Steam be dropped so carelessly. Even Poker Quest got more updates than this and they dropped it the second it was released. The utter fact that you have to pay for less content just for dialogue that shows faux character building and graphics change paired with less content and worst combat, makes me implore anyone to not get nostalgia baited by this game and please go back to play Odyssey again because that game cannot be rivaled by any other of this genre.

This is a tough one. It is most definitely not worth $16, buy it on sale, like I did. If you're a fan of the King's League flash games, just go replay those. They're free and they'll be a lot more fun and nostalgic than playing this game. I'm in a tricky situation where this game is good, and I've had a lot of fun playing it, but its predecessor, King's League Odyssey, is way better. The biggest difference is obviously the story mode. The story mode is a free win cakewalk on the highest difficulty, and an extended cutscene on the normal and easy difficulties. There are three campaigns, but only two are out, and the third one has been "coming soon" for over 2 years now. They don't care about this game anymore. I would be very surprised if Ivo's campaign ever comes out. The story is pretty bland. Every single character gets redeemed, even the big bad evil antagonist who has been nothing but insanely cruel all game gets a redemption arc like 5 minutes before the game ends. It's inoffensive, occasionally funny, rarely interesting, and terribly paced. Play through the story once to unlock everything and then never touch it again. What made the previous games so interesting is that you were always on the lookout for better characters, and it took precious time to risk scouting out new people. In this game, it doesn't cost anything to look for new recruits, but it's a waste of time anyway because your team gets filled up with story characters that are 1000x more powerful than randoms you can recruit. It's boring. You literally never care about anyone that isn't a story character, so every run ends up looking the exact same. Now you might be saying, well dang, it sounds like you hate this game, however, I've only talked about the story mode so far. They have a classic mode that is a million times better. It's the same formula as Odyssey, but you get one story character as the team leader. That's a great compromise and it works really well. The classic mode is where this game shines, it's everything that worked in their previous games, plus what little works in this edition. It's just simply not better than Odyssey. Buy this game if, like me, you've already beaten Odyssey a thousand times, or if it's on sale and really cheap. Otherwise, don't bother
My time played shows the amount of content you are purchasing. It was kind of fun at the start, but then becomes tedious mid to end. The story is overbearing. Though, I did story mode instead of sandbox. At first the story was interesting, but as I went on, it became annoying popping up so often. The end boss is a bit OP, but end game you don't lose really. The worst part, there are only a few epic units that you get from side stories. Each time new units refresh, they are just normal units. No gocha. Not worth the price unless it is on sale. I would say 50% off. Not much here. In fact, just go play the original. It is better.
King's League II is a brilliant indie game and a great successor to the previous King's league games. Kings league itself is quite old and I remember playing it on Armor games back in the day. Then it was one of my favorite games and Kurechii managed to improve every aspect of it. The game itself is not that long, probably 5 to 8 hours and I really recommend giving it a go!
When I first got into the game it was kinda boring but it very quickly turned into a story I HAD to keep playing. I just finished the Lionheart play through and it's a emotional ride at the end. Would recomend this to anyone wanting to play stories. One last thing; The fighting was well meh. That's all.

Is enjoyable game, you manage units, what they do during down time, choose a mission and you make em fight other parties with you clicking a active ability button to affect combat.
