Kill the Lich is a minimalist incremental game about time compression and resource flow. Route your primary resource—Momentum—downstream to unlock over 300 actions. Design granular automation, visualize exposed formulas, and trigger deep prestige layers to ultimately defeat the Lich!
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.
About
Kill the Lich is a minimalist incremental game centered around time compression and resource propagation. Your resources build automatically over time, but their growth accelerates when you optimize their downstream flow ratios, and you can manually push them along to go even faster. Each action grants attributes that reduce the requirements of other actions, allowing you to push further. Eventually, you can head north to Fight the Lich's Forces in an automated Phase 2, gathering three vital resources that make your next loop faster and unlock new goals.
With each loop, you gain access to an expanding web of actions. Your goals and strategies will constantly evolve as you prepare for the ultimate fight. As you delve deeper into the system, the number of available actions scales to over 300.
As an idle game, the math takes center stage. Every formula is fully exposed so you can see exactly how to respond to it. A scrollable map with multiple zoom levels lets you step back and visualize the exact state of your complex network at a high level.
Your primary resource — Momentum — generates and increases automatically. Your core gameplay loop involves routing it in different directions based on your current objectives, whether that's boosting Momentum generation or unlocking new action nodes. With multiple secondary resources in play, choosing the correct directional flow is the ultimate optimization puzzle.
Designed to be played over weeks and months, this is a true idle game. You will frequently set up your flow logic and then step away to let the harvest play out, with new unlocks and hints keeping you engaged for the long haul. To ensure your time is respected, being offline or paused banks Bonus Time at 100% efficiency. You can spend this to multiply the game's simulation speed, ensuring no time is ever wasted.
As you play, you will unlock deep automation tools. These give you the ability to dictate exactly when and by how much your downstream flow dials shift, enabling complex decision-making tailored to your current stats and situation.
After a few hours of build-up, you can engage the Lich's Forces. This resets your current progress and pushes you as far as your build allows, rewarding you with resources to spend on a massive upgrade tree. The core strategy lies in selecting the most efficient upgrades to compress the timeline of your next run, allowing you to reach new heights faster!
To keep the progression and time compression flowing endlessly, the game features two distinct layers of prestige restarts, as well as a New Game+ with its own upgrades, for players who want a little more! Each reset layer is curated to continuously evolve the player experience.

It is what it says it is, a minimalist Incremental. Gameplay is tied to restarting and unforunately can use IRL currency to provide benefits which while available to FTP, money will most likely give a major boost early. I like this incremental because it gives you option to proceed offline by speeding up your game when you get back, this gives you a few strategic choices. I suggest saving often and definetly before you Fight the Liches forces. AS you may not get as much as you planned and it might be worthwhile to keep pushing instead. The more you level the HATL (hear about the lich) usually the better your reward for resetting will end up being.
I really like it, the game is pretty hands off, but it's fun seeing the new branches unlock and what becomes available. Despite what the negative reviews say, it's a really simple game to start playing, you just send off resources, and it charges the next thing down the line, and the story that has been written so far is really interesting and I like the way it is written a lot. I hope the developers keep writing out the story for all the other nodes. I figure you're never going to please the tik tok brainrot folk if any reading is involved at all. Keep up the good work!

Truest idle game so far, for me. there is some control and focus, but in the end all you do is turn this thing on x10 stored time boost and do something other than this game. automatic sliders runs your game for you anyway. you can find some joy of progression, if only when you don't really give a ♥♥♥♥. harsh word, yes, but this is such game.
the game crashes my pc to the lock screen whenever I close out of it. that's an unacceptable bug for any piece of software.
It's a good idea dragged down by awful scaling of prestige currency and lackluster prestige bonuses. The currency itself is broken up in two forms, coins and whispers. The coin bonuses start out low while consuming at least 1/3rd upwards to the entire amount of currency from your current prestige. Yes, you will perform a prestige just to buy a single buff that shaves off a few minutes, or so it feels, from your next run. You want more of the myriad of stats that affect how fast you make progression? Do an entire prestige to buy one increase to a single stat, and then, you wait for 20+ hours to get back to where you were. Do another prestige, and you might get to purchase another single stat with another 20+ hour wait to recover from resetting your progression. The vast majority of coin upgrades start at 10-30 coins and the costs increase at an alarming rate of around 3x. The whispers unlock new actions you can take upon prestiging. These are how you acquire new content for more progression, but their costs are all over the place. Even worse, the whispers scale in much the same fashion as coins while feeling even worse as there doesn't seem to be a lot of unlocks to buy with them. Worst of all is the time to recover from each prestige. Normally, these types of games allow for quick recovery that ranges from a few minutes to a few hours. I had 180 hours of stored offline time, and I spent 60~ hours of offline time to run the game at 10x speed for a total of 3 prestiges. The recovery speed from prestiging is just too slow for me to recommend the game. That said, the game's concept is solid enough that I stuck around, but it's just way too slow on every front for my liking.
Definitely a longer duration game. One could argue a bit too idle. Granted with micromanagement it probably goes faster. I quite like the offline system. Does have a bug or two like with a lot of games, browser or not that really don't like you putting the computer to sleep while it is running, but that's easily solved by just closing the game. I like it.
This is the kind of game you need to leave on in the background and come back hours later to see if any progress has been made. In addition to that, you're not going to make significant progress unless you have the idle time bonus active, which you're going to want to manipulate your clock to build up in an instant. It seems unique at first, but it presents its "story" in the least interesting way, with the first box directing you to the menu to look at a massive wall of text, then doesn't even stay consistent in which boxes do or don't contain a story at all. That, and the fact that there's little to no agency in making things run faster means that there's no reason to pay attention to it aside from watching timers go down. I was willing to put up with it for way too long out of sheer curiosity, but then the game just inexplicably erased my progress after one too many clock change reboots. What a waste of time. Luckily there's no incentive to go back to it since there's no achievements either. Don't play this game. Play Trimps instead; It does what this game is trying to do, but better.
Game pace slows down wayyyyy to much. Soul coins are invisible until you stumble across them. Should pop up on the game screen in the UI when you have coins available for collection.
