I was Not expecting this game to get so dark and legitimately spooky towards the end. Be advised.

Very atmospheric and focused point and click adventure that shines with a fun story and good voice acting. It has great pacing without too much backtracking. I could’ve used a button to move faster on some scenes, but the puzzles are very logical which results in not needing to run around too much. I also enjoyed that there are some nice QoL features within the P&C genre, such as some sequences auto playing once you found the solution or quickly changing scenes without the need to travel there myself. I wasn’t sure how to feel about the main character at the beginning, because she felt a little to cliched in the way she talks, but that got toned down a bit. I was invested in the story and with the quick pacing it doesn’t overstay its welcome. As mentioned above, the atmosphere is the star of the show. Great moody pixel art. I’m really interested to play Part 2, but I’ve seen that there’s no controller support which is sad.

I don't understand why the rating on this game is so high. Story doesn't grab me at all. Movement is clunky at best. Graphics are awful.

Kathy Rain is a horrible human being. But if you can ignore that fact this is a really well made adventure game.
