"Kaiju Big Battel: Fighto Fantasy" is a nice 16-bit JRPG and the video game adaptation of a niche Kaiju-Monster wrestling troupe (which I never thought existed). You play the titular and quirky Kaiju heroes with their stereotypical but well meaning demeanour fighting against the evil Dr. Cube in space-time distorting proportions. The presentation, worldbuilding and spritework is crisp, the narration is lighthearted and comedic (sometimes hit or miss based on your preferences, but I had a good time with it: it is a silly, but earnest epic), the OST is funky and the combat definetly does not reinvent the wheel, but it gets the job done. Also there are no random encounters and you don't have to grind even on the hardest difficulty, which are great plus points! Combine that with the runtime of a little more than 10 hours and you got yourself a dense package.
I also really liked the RPG arcade-cabinet at the end of the game, it was hilariously cursed!
Quite an unorthodox and also classic title for all the nostalgic RPG-fans (and niche wrestling enthusiats) around! Give it a try!
A truly unique RPG that stands out from everyone else with wild characters, great art direction, fun soundtrack and a sense of humor. Worth buying for any RPG fan. P.S. I hope a sequel is made in the future.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This game deserves SO much more attention
Amazing! What a weird JRPG-type of game.
Super heroes battling with super villains have wrecked havoc on the world, so to prevent further damage, the Kaiju Big Battel was formed to keep the combat in a...controlled environment. But when the super villain summons a monster capable of distorting time, the super heroes must hunt him down through time and space. I tend to prefer pure fantasy, but this game has held my attention very well. There are some neat features, and I'm sure there are more as I am only a few hours into the game. I especially like the growing HQ and multiple "secret" locations which require certain characters to explore. It has great humor which adds to the game rather than distracts, . I've been working with the O.H.R.RPG.C.E. for over 20 years, though I've never come close to finishing a game due to time restrictions, talent limitations, and scope creep. It's great to see a commercial release using the engine, and I'm glad to see James Paige is involved.
wonderful game, such a classic jrpg-like - and it works perfectly on steam deck!
loved it
Why did nobody tell me this was a game?
The early game is a bit slow, but there's a ton of appeal and charm to the game and characters, and there's a pretty solid amount of content to justify the price. Robox is best character btw.
