Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.78/day in the week to Aug 4 → 3.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Although I am late in the gaming world, I have a dream list of games I want to buy and play and Just Cause 2 was one of them. The game so far, hasn't disappointed and is very suitable for my current hardware. Just Cause 3 is a certainty in my cart for the December sale, lol 😁 More than the missions, I am enjoying liberating all the settlements and bases and simply causing chaos throughout Panau. This game has made me realize that open world games are what I like and enjoy. I am thankful there have been no bugs/issues during my gameplay.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

full playthrough on steam deck plays wonderfully! still holds up, i enjoy this game and JC3 equally for different reasons absoutely worth picking up!
This game must have been revolutionary when it came out. Unfortunately it hasn't aged well. You have to go through a lot of boring stuff before you are even allowed to have fun (travel, finding a suitable vehicle, looking for healing stations) and when you finally get to have fun it is almost always hindered by some weird and poorly designed mechanic. The movement is awful and janky. The vehicles are too sluggish and squishy. You can't even automatically heal to full health. The map is huge but there isn't much in it. I could go on for hours. Just Cause 3 is a huge improvement over this game. Buy it instead.
It was worth every minute!
The best installment, in my opinion.
The ultimate playground for pure, chaotic fun! Just Cause 2 is one of those rare games where the story doesn't really matter, because the gameplay is just an absolute blast. It is the definition of a perfect action sandbox. The combination of the grappling hook and the infinite parachute is pure genius. Once you master the physics of slingshotting yourself across the map, stealing fighter jets mid-air, and tethering enemy soldiers to gas canisters, modern traversal in other games just feels boring. The open world of Panau is massive, gorgeous, and incredibly diverse. One minute you are driving a supercar through a neon-lit tropical city, the next you are snowboarding down a snowy mountain or raiding a military base in a dense jungle. The game constantly rewards you for causing "Chaos," which means your entire goal is to blow up fuel tanks, radio towers, and government property in the most spectacular ways possible. The explosions look fantastic, the vehicle selection is huge, and the map scale is still impressive even today. It doesn't take itself seriously at all, and that's exactly why it works so well. If you want a game where you can turn off your brain, perform insane Hollywood-style stunts, and blow up an entire island nation, Just Cause 2 is an absolute masterpiece of mindless fun.
Great game <3
