Journey

journey is certainly not for everyone, but for those who are able to appreciate the experience, they'll find that thatgamecompany has made something truly soft, cherished, and beautiful you enter the world with no knowledge of what's happening - other than that your goal is to reach the glowing peak of a mountain. but along the way, you'll bump into a stranger wandering the endless sands just like you. a real person from somewhere around the globe, who might not even speak the same language as you. you have no means of communication outside of a simple quasi "emote", and yet somehow... that's enough journey reveals just how easy it is to find connection with another person - and that, i think, is where the meaning of the game lies. journey is a very short experience (just over an hour), and yet it stands so strongly as a deeply human experience that transcends language (very literally). the end credits reveal the name of your companion, and to one "icesoul": thanks for always circling back for me whenever we lost each other, working together to figure out how to fly, and braving the final challenge side by side despite the odds. and let's not forget the 5 min we spent at the end where you kept wandering around trying to find me, but i was stuck way above you trying to get your attention before you finally saw me. all the best, whoever and wherever you are :D
