Islands of Insight

A genuinely beautiful and deep puzzle game with gorgeous art and a huge world to explore. Since they shut down the servers it's in offline-only mode, but to be honest, I think that's the state it should've released in on launch. The best parts of the game are still here. If you're a fan of puzzle games, this is worth your time. I also have to give special mention to the fractal puzzles, which are a completely different type of puzzle that I've never seen before, and require a lot of intuition to solve, and they're just stunning works of art in themselves.

Recomiendo jugar con el Offline Restored Mod. Miles de puzles generalmente sencillos, rápidos y con muchísima variedad en un mundo abierto que es divertido de explorar. No es un juego de puzles donde todo este interconectado como bien podría pasar en algo como The Witness, si no un juego con muchos puzles mayormente inconexos. Si buscas algo que te rompa la cabeza este no es tu juego, tiene puzles complicados pero es necesario pasar por muchos que son bastante fáciles para poder llegar a ellos. En cambio si te gustan los puzles del estilo sudoku, buscaminas o wordle este juego es para ti. La única pega que le pongo es el rendimiento, el juego rinde bastante mal y da tirones a menudo además no tiene soporte para DLSS o FSR 3, solo FSR 1, lo cual agrava el problema. Con mi pc en 4K, calidad alta, FSR1 calidad obtenía entre 60 y 100 fps pero da tirones al entrar o salir de un puzle.

Great game for puzzle solvers. Many puzzles scattered throughout the playing field, match 3, perspective puzzles, hidden puzzles, logic solving and more plus quests to do involving solving certain numbers of specific puzzles which open up others areas of the game.. The scenery is awesome and each set of islands seem to have it own beautiful theme. I am awed by the scenery every time I play the game, the developers took great care to populate each island with ample trees and flowers to create an enjoyable environment to play in. The playing area can be a bit tense for those of us who suffer from vertigo as many of the islands have tall building, cliffs and edges that one can tumble off. Getting you wings does alieviate this quite a bit though. There is, however, no chance of dying if you fall from a great height. There is a guardian to catch you and put you back on solid footing.

It's a shame, this looks like such a good game and the puzzles look so fun. But upon actually trying to play this game, it always crashes either on startup or upon pressing play on the title screen. I wish I could play this masterpiece of a game, I really do. But I just can't. (this is on both Windows and Linux btw)
