About

The world is dead. The state has collapsed. In a forgotten Eastern Bloc town, you are alone but not truly alone. Something stirs beyond the walls, and none of it means you well. You have only one reason to keep going: survive long enough to find your wife, Valeria. But in the cold and darkness of this unforgiving night, will you ever make it back to her?

In the hellish streets of this Eastern Bloc town, every bullet matters. There are ways to fight back, but survival demands more than firepower. Use the weapons at your disposal to clear a path, scavenge tools to overcome the obstacles ahead, and avoid unnecessary confrontations whenever you can.

Iron Blight aims to deliver an immersive gameplay experience built around atmosphere, vulnerability, and the crushing weight of isolation. Every bullet matters, and the sound of gunfire may draw even more horrors to your position. Even something as simple as opening a locked door demands thought. You must manage your food and medical supplies, move cautiously through the streets, and always consider what might be waiting around the next corner.
True Survival Horror Gameplay: Navigate desolate streets and claustrophobic interiors, where danger lurks around every corner. Solve puzzles and face the terrors that will force a choice: fight, flee, or die.
Resource Scarcity and Tension: Resources are scarce. Do you risk using your last bullet to take down a monster, or do you save it for a more critical moment and hope to slip past unnoticed?
Diegetic Grid-Based Inventory: Every single item matters, and space is a luxury you can't afford. Carefully manage your limited inventory grid, making agonizing choices about what to carry and what to leave behind.
No HUD, No Distractions: No health bars, no ammo counters, no intrusive menus. Every piece of information is conveyed through your character and the world around you. Your only interface is your own perception.
A Unique Weapon System: Check your magazines manually, round by precious round, and reload with deliberate, step-by-step actions. Every firefight becomes a tense test of your nerves and skill.
A Bleak and Oppressive Atmosphere: Rain-slick cobblestones and flickering fluorescent lights lead you deeper into a town that feels cold, hostile, and suffocating. The distant cries of things that should not exist echo through its desolate streets.
A Return to Forgotten Horror Traditions: Fear comes from the atmosphere, the gnawing uncertainty, and the constant presence of death. The story is told through the environment itself, and combat is a slow, methodical dance where every shot matters.

25 minutes in so far! And, honestly, the game already has me gripped. If I didn't have work, I'd keep going. I'll update the review once I've finished a first proper run, of course. But I really gotta emphasize... this is scratching an itch of mine that a lot of other games I've recently played haven't done so. Love how immersive the mechanics are with semi-realistic reloads, weapon jamming, physical map, limited inventory, and so on. Only tweaks I'd probably hope for in a future patch/update, which is entirely a nitpick and more of a personal preference, would be more variety in muzzle effects per weapon archetype... and for dismembering headshots to have more of a louder, crunchier sound. Maybe even have the giblets potentially burst backwards onto walls similar to the Manhunt games. Bloodier stumps where the head used to be would be a fine visual improvement, too. Quick update. Just 7 minutes shy from 2 full hours... and it just keeps getting better and better! It's quite intense. Honestly, I appreciate that this has more of an action horror pacing in terms of how you'll have to fight your way out of situations while still maintaining that survival horror tone through and through. Surprisingly, even with the current autosave feature being prominent, I feel it's working very well. Though I would still hope to see some kind of manual save system in an update. Would help making sure no one gets soft-locked by autosaves when in dire need of resources.

Muito bom
Baya sardı güzel oyun.
Ok, so it's a pretty good game for the price. Short and simple. I did encounter some bugs, one severe one as well. The magnum revolver is broken currently and can only be fired once, then the animation breaks and requires you to unequip and reequip it to fire it again, making it worthless. This essentially made 20% of the game's ammo into paper weights. As I was playing the game on the hardest difficulty where ammo is so rare that I had to finish the game with kung-fu kicks to save on ammo, this was almost game breaking. The game didn't do anything new, but other than the one major bug, didn't do anything wrong either. I had fun playing it, and the price matched what I got out of it. So yes, I recommend it, but I suggest playing on hard or normal till the gun animation gets fixed.
很不错的小品级生存恐怖游戏,第二章的城镇地图设计尤其舒服,各个区域的连接复杂但是又很合理,关卡设计太优秀了,期待制作组未来的作品。
Eh, too many enemies and pretty buggy. Had my arms floating in cutscenes because I entered them with my map open, my icon got moved on the map somehow so it was shifted over a couple of rooms. Main issue that ruins it is way too many enemies and they're nearly as fast as you, and fighting back didn't seem to be an option in level 2 due to scarcity of resources. Got bogged down by 20ish mutants looking for some keys for a guard shack or something. Needs some time to cook. EDIT: In response to the dev: I'm always happy to support indie games, especially indie horror games, but if I knew that turning up the difficulty would turn it more into zomboid than survival horror, I wouldn't have. When I got into the first hallway-esque sequences of level two, I assumed it was a scripted event and I was supposed to run to the next door, since it was metal, when I closed it, I thought that was the "end" of the encounter in the courtyard. Until about 15 mutants broke the door down. It seems like they don't ever de-aggro, and all doors are breakable, so I'm not sure how avoiding them would be an option. That there were enough enemies that I thought it was a "run away, this is not something you can fight" is a problem in conveying what the player should do in a situation
While I sort of enjoyed the game, I cannot recommend it as it is a bit too rough around the edges.
The game is a mix between Resident Evil and L4D. There is a limited inventory, but the game doesn't push you to manage your inventory too much, and you can easily kill every zombie as long as your aim is good enough. BUT there are so many shortcomings.
+ Pros

+ Action is solid, zombies can get gibbed, it didn't feel like they have i-frames and you always have a way to deal with them.
+ Ambience is nice. Sounds and lighting do a lot of heavy lifting here.
+ No tedious inventory management*: the limited inventory is only for meds, guns, and ammo. All tools and upgrades have their own unlimited inventory tab.

- Cons

- While I am okay with short games, I didn't like the pacing. Act 1 was too repetitive (in terms of level design and enemy types) and while Act 2 didn't have such problems, was too big to have a Metroidvania structure (you don't have the tool to get here go to other part of the town). Even the bicycle doesn't help, as means of fast travel as it: doesn't get far because of road blocks, you can not always find it.
- Melee combat is meh.
- When you need to use tools, you ALWAYS need to complete a long sequence that has animations between steps. You need to: 1) Press E to open inventory -> 2) Select the right tool -> 3) Press LMB to use the tool... Am I crazy to think that you should be able to do it in ONE BUTTON CLICK?
- *During Act 2 you are given many guns, and most of them have their own ammo type. Why not just make most of the guns as upgrades to later ones, like the DEV himself did with the shotgun??? Nah realistic ammo types are really needed in this game, right guys? It would be okay if we the we could pick the same guns again BUT it is only during small segment of ending in Act 2.
- Everything story wise, be it our character's reaction or the ending. Spoilers about the ending and some minor stuff:
In the end, when we finally get back to our wife, we see that she is infected, which I feel is too forced just for the sake of a sad story. Even the confrontation with the military at the end of Act 2 feels forced too.

TL;DR: If you’re looking for an old-school-looking survival horror game with a great atmosphere, and you’re okay with a relatively linear 4–7 hour experience, I’d say go for it. Fun little survival horror game, although it is definitely on the shorter side. I finished it in around 5 hours, but depending on your playstyle and skill level, I could see it taking anywhere from 4–7 hours. Whether that’s worth $10–15 is ultimately up to you. Personally, I think the game has a lot of charm, especially when it comes to the graphics. They have that old-school look that I really enjoy + good atmosphere. I think it could benefit from a little bit of voice acting to make it even more immersive even though there is not a lot of talking. There’s also no traditional UI, which works surprisingly well with the game’s immersive sim elements. For example, you actually have to open your bag in-game to see what items you’re carrying, and you have to check your magazine to see how much ammo you have left. Weapons can also jam, requiring you to manually unjam them, or to manually pump the shotgun as well. Some people might find these mechanics restrictive or annoying, but I think they fit the game really well and add to the overall immersion. The game does have some puzzles, but nothing too difficult or elaborate. It’s fairly linear overall and leans more heavily into shooting than puzzle-solving or avoiding enemies. I would love it when the game would be a bit longer though just because I liked it so much.
