About

While Shelly "Bombshell" Harrison earned her codename defusing bombs for the Global Defense Force, when evil transhumanist mastermind Dr. Jadus Heskel unleashes the members of his cybernetic cult onto the streets of Neo D.C., she knows it's time to start causing explosions instead of preventing them.
Her quest to slay Heskel leaves a trail of carnage throughout huge, multi-path levels filled with gigantic explosions, more secret areas than we can count, and inhuman foes behind every corner. There's no regenerating health here; stop taking cover and start running and gunning.
Shelly's crusade to take down Heskel's army will see her leave destruction in her wake with a wide arsenal of weapons, complete with alternate fire modes and different ammo types. Her signature revolver, the tri-barreled Loverboy, brings enemies pain and players pleasure with both single shots and Old West-style hammer fanning action. Who needs a regular shotgun when you can load buckshot into your grenade launcher? Violent, over-the-top Bowling Bombs rip enemies apart with ease.
Ion Fury laughs at the idea of mandatory checkpoints and straight paths through shooting galleries. But, just because this is a true old-school first-person shooter doesn't mean we've ignored all the good new stuff the last two decades have brought. Headshots? Hell yeah. More physics and interactivity? You betcha. Widescreen, controller support, and auto saves? 3D Realms and Voidpoint have taken the best of both worlds and cooked it all into a bloody stew.

Between this and Warhammer 40K Boltgun, both are homages to classic FPS game like Quake and Doom. Whereas we have gotten used to shooters like CoD, and such with big graphics and somewhat challenging gameplay Ion Fury has really brought me back to the classics. Hidden secrets around the map, fast-draw of weapons on enemies that can come through a wall or after you find another door somewhere. Finding health packs you passed to stay alive, searching for ammunition and of course the key cars to enter the next level Graphically the game is quite stunning, even as an old shooter which is intentional. It's the gameplay which is vital here, and like Boltgun and older FPS games it does not disappoint. I bought it on the recent sale, but it is worth full price.
Not a BAD game, but an overall 5-6/10 experience so far. I originally played a couple hours on Switch and gave up, I think on a level where there were fissures in the ground and government offices. This time on Steam Deck I didn't even make it passed the... uh... like, factory and sewers? I think the second area. The visuals and gunplay are great, but the level design is atrocious and really makes it a chore to run around the levels looking where to go next. Might also be all of the visual noise in central areas.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Не смог понять куда двигаться дальше прямо на второй локации. Всё излазил, всё проверил. А в начале игра очень понравилась. Зачем вы так?
This is an old-school game, but not in a good way. Honestly, developers gathered full bingo of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shooter mechanics: - Insta-hit enemies, MANY of them. And most of the others are pretty close to be insta-hit (projectiles are fast) - Respawn, all the time. Mostly without real reasoning behind it. Enemies just appear out of nowhere - Shotgunner behind every second corner. So, instead of moving fast you need to check everything slowly (unless you know where everyone is located) - Small annoying enemies like flying drones and spider-skulls. And they also spawn a lot and in many (preferably dark) places - Do you like grenades shot at you and hitting 70% of 100/100? What can be better than this? Of course enemies that shot barrage of rockets (if you catch it, you'll die no matter how healthy you was). In a narrow corridor. Maybe even two of them - Did I mention that you have a limit of height for your crosshair and flying drones love to fly above that limit? - Bosses are super tanky. For example, I had to do "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" with battle droid that has a chaingun and sends literally 10 grenade barrages. So, it took about 50 hits from crossbow + about 20 grenades to kill it. - What could be better than helicopter boss? Everyone loves them! Players would love helicopter boss that drops other enemies and soaks TONS of damage. Honestly, at some point I understood that I just don't enjoy the game - I had to work on "very fun" tactics named "jump out of the corner, shoot, hide" and carefully check every corner in the game - enemies love to be there, even in the places you cleaned out. As for me, this is really lazy game design which wasn't considered as a great even 30 years ago
I didn't play a lot of boomer shooters before Ion Fury, but this game single handedly completely changed my perspective on this whole genre. Now I wanna try them all. I love the stunning cyberpunk aesthetic and overall vibe of the game. Beyond just looking great, the game does an amazing job with variety when it comes to the locations you visit—every single level feels distinct and keeps things fresh. The level design is genuinely top-tier. I never once felt lost, yet I remained fully engaged at all times. Part of that is thanks to the secret rooms. Even though they aren't strictly necessary—and sometimes you just find ammo for a gun you're already maxed out on—the satisfaction from hidden room sound effect makes you explore as much as you can. On the combat side, every weapon is viable. You could probably beat the entire game using just your personal favorite. Ammo can feel a bit too plentiful at times (I was almost always at max ammo for everything), but the flip side of that: instead of hoarding your powerful weapons for a boss that may or may not show up soon, you actually get to use your entire arsenal without a second thought. Top it off with a great soundtrack and you get an absolute masterpiece of a retro-style FPS. If a non-fan of this genre like me can fall in love with this, you definitely need to play it.
3DRealms can sometimes make good games. This was probably the last game they actually made that was actually good. While not really innovative in any way, it is a build engine throwback game. I'd argue this game is much better than the majority of games they released post 2020. The artwork for the assets, levels, and their environments aren't just "retrofuturistic". Its more grounded cyberpunk (which is a really underrepresented thing in gaming) and genuinely quite good looking. They are pretty authentic to actual 1990s game art and it actually feels like a coherent world in many places. The world is a good blend of silly and seriousness that is definitely true to the humor of older build engine games. What really sells the authenticity of this game are all the little things, the prop destruction, the posters, and the way environments are designed and their modeling after real buildings that you would see in real life - make this game stand out among all the other boomer shooters which try to have "passive worldbuilding" but never really actually do anything other than a shooting gallery made out of corridors. Its one of those games where you just want to look around at the environment after the battle and just explore the world. I don't think anyone seriously cares about the "lore and narrative" of this game, but for a game that doesn't really have a focus on narrative. These environments and worldbuilding make me wish alot of actually narrative focused games actually had this level of passive worldbuilding. Another rare thing that this game does: the fights are actually quite cerebral. Circle strafing very rarely wins anything. Definitely worth it on a sale.
the fact that this is in the build engine is pretty big, it's just another shooter tho if you like collecting these types of games here's definitely is one of those pieces that will be locked on a display case once you're done with it.
Thoroughly enjoyed the game, I have no real complaints that I can really think of. If you're a fan of fast paced fps, you'll enjoy it
Amazing boom shoot! Highly recommend this and it's expansion!
é un ritorno al primo Duke nuken, non ci sono altre cose d'aggiungere. è bello sei sei amante dei Boomer Shooter
