# 🇺🇸 English # 🏔️ Every Step Matters — One of the Most Unique Survival Roguelites I've Played *Insurmountable* immediately caught my attention with its concept, but what kept me playing was its execution. Instead of treating the mountain as a simple backdrop, the game turns it into the main challenge. Every decision matters, and even a seemingly safe route can become a costly mistake if you don't carefully manage your resources. It's a roguelite where surviving the climb is far more important than simply reaching the summit. --- 🎮 **Gameplay** The gameplay revolves around planning ahead. Every move requires you to evaluate terrain, elevation, weather conditions, and the physical cost of crossing each section of the mountain. Managing stamina, body temperature, oxygen, and health makes even small choices feel meaningful. The shortest path is rarely the smartest one, and taking a longer, safer route often pays off. Random events constantly force you to adapt, ensuring that every expedition feels different instead of becoming predictable. --- 🎨 **Graphics & Audio** The visual style is clean and atmospheric. The mountains successfully capture a feeling of isolation, while changing weather and varied environments make every climb visually rewarding. The interface presents a surprising amount of information without becoming overwhelming, which is essential for a strategy-focused experience. The soundtrack is subtle, allowing the silence of the mountain to become part of the atmosphere and making the journey feel even more immersive. Performance also remains consistently smooth throughout the adventure. --- ⚖️ **Difficulty & Progression** The difficulty is demanding but fair. Failures usually come from poor planning rather than unfair mechanics, making every mistake feel like a valuable lesson instead of a frustrating setback. As you become better at reading terrain, managing resources, and anticipating danger, your own improvement becomes one of the most satisfying forms of progression. --- 🧩 **Fun & Replay Value** Procedurally generated mountains, random events, different climbers, and unique abilities ensure that no two expeditions feel exactly alike. Every run presents new decisions, unexpected challenges, and alternative strategies to explore. It's the kind of roguelite where failure naturally motivates you to immediately start another climb. --- ✅ **Final Verdict** *Insurmountable* takes an incredibly original concept and builds an engaging survival roguelite around it. Resource management, exploration, and meaningful decision-making come together to create a thoughtful experience that's unlike almost anything else in the genre. If you enjoy strategy games that reward careful planning over fast reflexes, this is absolutely worth your time. **⭐ Highly Recommended. Few games make every single step feel this important.**

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I really like that you don't fight enemies in this game, but rather fight to survive against the forces of nature. Managing the different resources you have and trying to choose optimal paths for your climbs is a lot of fun. I didn't pay a lot of attention to the story, but it is alright. The graphics are simple, but pretty pleasant. The soundtrack is alright, too. The camera sometimes is annoying, but it wasn't a big deal for me. On normal difficulty the game is rather forgiving and I only really lost at it, because I didn't fully understand the mechanics yet.
A melancholic climbing experience where you decide when to die from cold, and fast reading of the text. It's a text based game with some strategy from where to climb the mountain. Good fun when on sale.
Very good little roguelike game for the price I got it at! Thoughtful, meditative, a little spooky, and intriguing. Honestly wish there were more games like this.
An enjoyable resource-management roguelike! I wish there was slightly more to the story but the gameplay itself is fun. Enjoyed figuring out which character to use with their unlocked abilities for each mission, can definitely see myself trying the harder difficulty (just finished the main story on normal). Exactly my kind of game!
Recommend! Though the camera makes you lose your mind sometimes. There are some hacks to make life a lot easier especially when playing with the
scientist
. Buy it in sale.
No idea why I bought this it is hardly even a game and stains the Daedalic brand.
