You might love this game. I did not. I think the mechanics are fine, and it has unique and interesting aesthetics. I just didn't really like the story. Depending on where you are in life and where you sit philosophically with the issues in the game it might hit different for you. It's heavy, and heavy handed.

Excellent game. Loved the artstyle and Original Sound Track but first and foremost the [b] STUNNING [/b] animations that are literally everywhere in the game, could never get enough of them. To be honest I was quite lost in the story/plot, the blend of povs constantly swapping was a great idea to convey the message however what made me really full understand the underlying message was [spoiler] the ending animation that allowed the entire story to unfold before my eyes. The message the developpers tried to pass through their game was so strong and well thought. [/spoiler] I strongly recommend.

INMOST is a Cinematic 2D Puzzle Platformer where you play as 3 different characters each telling their own story, the old bearded man, the knight and the girl. You seek out the truth by solving puzzles and progressing the story. The game offers chapters of gameplay each with their designated story and puzzles / enemy battling (knight story only) where you progress by collecting the required items to open doors, activated mechanisms required to progress further in each chapter. The pixel art style was mostly horror creepy theme as it was most of the game's story and the adventure. Dark caves, houses and rooms as you venture further. There's a bit of backtracking but it's easy to remember as the most chapter you play with is in a single large map where you traverse it back and forth for needed equipments. There controls and movement were tight and I didn't have any issues, I enjoyed the story even though most of it was from the dark side, but I was eager to know what happens next in each chapter cleared and each character's story. The music and OST were dark themed and creepy / horror vibe which matches the story of the gameplay. The Devs nailed it on this one. There were no direct boss fights, however there were some big elite enemies that required certain puzzle solving / map traversal in order to beat them. It's a recommended short and fun 2D puzzle platformer indie game for those who like this genre. Overall Rating 7.5/10
