I signed up for a cozy farming sim in space. I got emotionally waterboarded by a card game that somehow knows exactly which choices I regret in real life. This game asked me to grow up on an alien planet, and by "grow up" I mean it made me relive the entire trauma of being a teenager, including but not limited to: awkward first crushes, friendship breakups, parental disappointment, and one specific incident involving a bunch of bioluminescent bugs that I am still not emotionally over. The card based stat building system seems simple at first. Get good at chemistry, get good at combat, get good at being charming. Then the game casually reveals that literally every decision you make as a ten year old is quietly setting up a permanent character trait that will define the rest of your life, and also possibly the fate of the entire colony, and also whether your best friend still likes you in fifteen years. No pressure. Also whoever designed Tangent deserves a raise, a hug, and possibly a restraining order because that ending broke something in me I did not know could break. This is a game about growing up, making impossible choices, and realizing that sometimes the version of yourself who is really good at farming is the same version of yourself who forgot to say goodbye to someone who mattered. Devastating. Beautiful. Somehow also has combat robots.

Muy buena historia, muy bien contada, mucha rejugabilidad. Te tienen que gustar los juegos de historia tipo "elige tu propia aventura". A nivel jugabilidad, es un juego de cartas que puedes ir sacando a fuerza bruta, y tiene un modo facil si prefieres solo disfrutar la historia. Muy disfrutable.

I love this game. It is pretty dark at times but it's really good.
I need more games like this. If you love interactive fiction, choose your own adventure, and/or science fiction, this is the game for you. The writing is amazing. I easily got sucked into what was happening and as a person who often finds dialogue or writing in video games cumbersome, I did not feel this way in this game. Things that you gloss over often come back up later in some way or another. Nothing is truly random. I love that. The characters are memorable, fleshed out, and sometimes surprising, which I find realistic and it makes the characters fun to get to know. The general story is very interesting, as a lover of science fiction and animals, this was a great combination for me. As a lover of human nature and all the ways in which we heal and destroy the things around us, I also felt very compelled to keep picking up the game. The deck building mechanics were simple and easy to learn, and the consequences of failing were generally relaxed as there is no real way to lose the game. I love that it was low pressure and it was the perfect game to unwind to. Amazing cozy replay value. I replayed this several times just to explore more of the story, parts I hadn’t seen in previous playthrough due to my decisions. And there are so many little detail decisions that you don’t even realize you are making as you play the game! The attention to detail in this game is incredible. Every decision leads to significant impacts within the story, so many moving parts, truly I am in awe of this game. I 1000% need 1000 more games like this. It is everything interactive fiction should be and more. My only wish is that the game was bigger and longer. But that’s not to say this isn’t a bang for your buck because it IS! I have 100 hours on my switch of this game. I’ve bought it twice. That’s how much I love this game. Please make more? 😭

Que jogo incrível!!! Comprei ele primeiramente por causa dos gráficos, achei lindo. Depois descobri que os finais não são fáceis e que é pra ser um pouco demorado. No começo, desisti, não joguei por 1 ano. Até que eu comecei a jogar e simplesmente me apaixonei pela jogatina. Cada ação diferente, cada final, cada personagem tão bem escrito, a tensão que esse jogo me fez passar, de pensar: "essa é a decisão certa a fazer?". Quando eu estava vendo o epílogo de um dos finais, eu chorei muito, e doeu pra clicar no botão de avançar, mas foi incrível ver o tanto que um jogo pode influenciar nos sentimentos. A música também é incrível, combina totalmente com a estética, e cria uma memória afetiva. Sempre que acabo um final, e aperto no botão de "Wake up again", dá uma sensação inexplicável. Ainda falta muito pra eu conseguir zerar o jogo, mas agora virou uma meta. Simplesmente 1000/10.
