I can't recommend this game. The beginning was fun, but as the game progresses, it gets clunkier and more frustrating. And loading times seem to be taking longer. Things I think would improve QOL: -Optimized storage & more storage space (both for chests and the large item storage) & higher stacking limits for things like biomass -Quicker load times, esp after explorations -More automation -Upgrades to make certain repeated crafts cheaper -More story and interactions with the different robots I played this game quite a bit and was hoping to see more once it left early access. Unfortunately, I don't think it lived up to my expectations.
After all, I’d say I recommend this game. I don’t mind the repetitive gameplay, but you have to keep in mind that it’s REALLY monotonous. If you’re okay with that — this might be your cozy little escape. + relaxing (cleaning the roofs was really calming) + the characters you meet are fun and cute, you get to like them + slowly paced gameplay. You want to decorate? Decorate. You want to clean the roofs? Go do it. The game never rushes you to do anything + the only "enemies" can be turned off entirely. Even with them on, they barely affect gameplay (I ignored them almost completely, didn't put up almost any defenses) - the gameplay is... OK. Well it's not bad, but distant; like it’s happening somewhere next to your gameplay, not within it. The ending is pretty bland too - sometimes you can feel a little lost - can get grindy, especially those rarest achievements

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

boring as hell. its just tedious monotonous grinding with very little pay off. and the plot is uneventful so it feels like a giant waste of time by the end of the game.
🎮 Game Basics Genre: Cozy apocalypse survival farming sim Current state: 1.2.0.008r 🌿 Vibe & Pace Vibe check: Chill, no-rush meandering through a ruined water world via rooftops and drones. Stress level: Low Best time to play: After a long work day, when your brain needs to turn off and work through builds and tasks without the pressure of the day or deadlines. Meandering-friendly? Yes Can you walk away for a week? Yes — it will literally never matter if you walk away and then start back over. 👥 Representation Player character options: Binary male/female model, no nuance. NPC diversity: All some form of machine. Queer presence: None. POC presence: None (single default character model). Disabled presence: Main character is missing an arm, however, that is immediately addressed with a robotic arm for tools. Overall note: Robots cleverly sidestep human representation, but that means zero visible queer or POC characters. There is a notable green source energy focus. 🎵 Sound Design Music: Chill ambient — fits the mood, not intrusive. Puts me in a flow state if that helps you decide at all. Sound effects: Satisfying little chimes for gathering; nothing grating. Voice acting: None. Standout moment: The quiet — feels intentional for a post-apocalypse. 💰 Value Hours played: 28 Worth it now? Yes, if you want low-stress and don't need representation. Supporter calculation: Bought it rough to help it get to 1.0 — no regrets. I adore a lot of games by this company and feel no regrets supporting this one. 🔄 Early Access Lifecycle Notes How rough at start? Medium — playable, some missing features. Dev communication? Yes — regular updates. 1.0 reset done? Yep Would you buy again at same price now? No, I'm not entirely sure this game is worth paying the full price for because there is not a lot of new or adaptive gameplay. the story is slow going and very far in the background. However, if it's on sale and you want a game like this I really recommend it. ✅ One-Line Verdict Best for: Meandering, low-stress apocalypse vibes with a robot cast. Can feel clunky at times or grindy in others but over all a wonderfully calming game. Not for: Anyone wanting queer or POC NPCs, or robust character customization. A complex tech tree or any variant of complexity.
I Am Future: Cozy Apocalypse Survival presents an intriguing blend of survival mechanics wrapped in a charmingly cozy aesthetic that sets it apart from the usual bleak and harsh post-apocalyptic games. Developed by a small indie team, this title invites players into a world recovering from disaster, where the goal isn’t just to survive, but to rebuild a sense of home and community amid the ruins. This fresh take on the survival genre combines crafting, exploration, and narrative in a way that appeals both to fans of survival games and those looking for a more soothing, thoughtful experience. At its core, the gameplay revolves around scavenging for resources, crafting tools and shelter, and managing the needs of your character as you explore a softly rendered, pastel-colored world. Unlike many survival games that emphasize constant threat and high tension, I Am Future strikes a more relaxed tone. The pacing is gentle, encouraging players to take their time in gathering materials, tending to their base, and uncovering the story behind the apocalypse. This cozy atmosphere is supported by the game’s art style and music, both of which contribute to a calm, contemplative mood rather than one of urgency or dread. Exploration is a key aspect of the game, with a variety of environments to traverse — from overgrown urban ruins to quiet countryside and abandoned settlements. Each area holds secrets to discover and resources to collect, making exploration rewarding and engaging. The world design encourages curiosity, with subtle environmental storytelling that reveals the events leading up to the fall of civilization. Players often find themselves piecing together narratives from scattered notes, weathered objects, and lingering remnants of the past, adding depth to the experience beyond simple survival. Crafting and base-building mechanics are intuitive and satisfying, providing a steady sense of progression. Players can build and upgrade shelters, create useful tools, and customize their living space to reflect their personality and needs. Managing resources carefully is important, but the game avoids punishing scarcity; instead, it fosters a balanced loop where planning and creativity are more rewarding than mere endurance. This approach encourages players to experiment with different crafting recipes and layouts, enhancing the overall engagement. The character’s survival is influenced by factors like hunger, warmth, and mental well-being, but these systems are designed to support the game’s relaxed vibe rather than overwhelm. There are moments of tension, such as dealing with environmental hazards or hostile wildlife, but these challenges serve to spice up the gameplay rather than dominate it. The inclusion of a day-night cycle and changing weather adds layers of realism and strategic consideration without becoming a source of frustration. Narrative elements in I Am Future are subtle but meaningful. Through interactions with NPCs, exploration, and environmental cues, players gradually uncover a story about hope, resilience, and the human spirit’s capacity to rebuild even in the bleakest circumstances. The writing is thoughtful and avoids melodrama, fitting well with the game’s overall tone. This narrative focus makes the survival experience feel purposeful and emotionally resonant. Visually, the game is a standout for its warm, inviting art style. The soft pastel palette and hand-drawn textures create an atmosphere that is as comforting as it is melancholic. The animations are fluid and expressive, breathing life into the world and its inhabitants. Complementing the visuals is a gentle soundtrack featuring acoustic instruments and ambient sounds that further enhance the cozy, post-apocalyptic mood. While I Am Future excels in atmosphere and unique tone, it does have its limitations. Some players may find the slower pace and lower stakes less thrilling compared to more intense survival games. The crafting system, while deep, could benefit from more variety and complexity in later stages to maintain long-term engagement. Additionally, occasional technical hiccups and UI quirks can detract from the otherwise polished experience. Overall, I Am Future: Cozy Apocalypse Survival offers a refreshing and heartfelt take on the survival genre by emphasizing calm, creativity, and emotional storytelling over relentless challenge. Its soothing atmosphere, engaging exploration, and meaningful narrative make it an excellent choice for players looking to experience a post-apocalyptic world in a more gentle and contemplative way. For those tired of the grim and gritty survival games, this title provides a cozy refuge where survival feels less like a struggle and more like a journey toward rebuilding and hope. Rating: 8/10
It's fine but overall tips negative for me because: 1. I didn't like the fishing minigame 2. It is overall pretty grindy and if you go for achievements, very grindy 3. It still has various bugs, one of which blocked progression for me 4. It has obscenely long load times for some reason 5. The drone expedition moves WAY TOO SLOW 6. There are a lot of time wasters. I get that it's a cozy game, but cozy does not include for me being forced to wait or repeating the same minigame several dozen times. It's otherwise a neat enough game. My play time is a lot higher than actual play time because I would pause this and walk away a lot, but this is a game I forced myself to finish. So overall my recommendation is to put your time and money somewhere else. If they fix load times and bugs and ditch some of the grind, then maybe come back, or if that stuff doesn't bother you then give it a shot (or give it a shot and you'll see within the first 2 hours what I mean and whether it bugs you or not).
Kind of split between like and hate on this one. I am undecided on do or don't recommend. It forced me to choose to post this review and with only seven hours in and no care to continue its got Caesar giving it a thumbs down and feeding it to a stadium of hungry spectator lions. I'll start with what I like. The plot. The scenery. The chill. Crafty - survival - base builder - 3rd person (cuz I like to see my puppet). Npc's are entertaining. What displeases me. Resource gridlock. Stop reading here unless you want the full explanation of what I mean by resource gridlock. Very easy to get resource locked. The final option to split parts in the work bench can help with this IF you realize the option is there. However even after getting past the "need to build a crypto farm but I'm out of microchips problem", the very item you struggle to build locks your game up again. The crypto farm is garbage. A survival craft that stalls out because your waiting for a cryto-printer to spit out coinage killed the whole vibe for me. The vending machine on the roof takes fish, salad, mushrooms, etc. but the main vendor bot ONLY takes u-coin crypto... naw dude the whole point of survival craft is I want item X and I need material Y+B+A to make it, so go fetch. If the u-coin was a way to get items in addition to scrounging on your own sure I could see it. Go fetch a thing while it churns then buy a thing without having to fetch and not stalling out. The sad thing is this has you sitting on your thumbs waiting for time to pass instead of DOING. I got all the food I need and I can't build anything until the machine spits out about 200 u-coin and then I gotta choose to spend that either on 1 item needed to craft something or to open another area to explore that may not free me from the resource lock... idk idc lost my interest. Very much steamrolled into "this is your path" kind of play. Who cares if the stairs are blocked I would build a rope or ladder and spelunk inside the building or on a lower balcony or build a frickin boat with all the wood your generating or raft of empty bottles. Sad so sad could have been epic.
I wouldn't call it "cozy" so much as "tedious"
