Every market we collect.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.14/day in the week to Aug 26 → 16.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Humankind's worst sin is probably the fact that it "inspired" Civilization 7 to introduce the same half-baked, badly thought-out and ultimately terribly artificial culture swapping system. The idea of mixing cultures is not a bad one per se, historically it makes sense and if done right, it could be a real innovation in the stagnating Civ-like sub-genre. The way it's implemented in Humankind - and in Civ 7 - is simply bad. You're not mixing cultures (even less doing it "organically"), you're just choosing what kind of bonuses and a few other extras to pick for the next age. Then another age comes and you pick the new set of bonuses. Yay! Evolution! In the end you come up with a "culture" that is like a shopping list for the grocery store which is advertised as a novel. Well, it isn't. A kilo of tomatoes, a kilo of potatoes, 3 cucumbers and some strawberries isn't Dostoevsky and will never be. That's so immersion-breaking that even if everything else in the game was flawless, it would still be mediocre at best. The "leaders" are made of the same material - pretty much random guys with the personality of a potato from the shopping list (one of the less charming ones). The idea to create your own "avatar" might sound good on paper but just adds another soulless nobody to the bunch. For some reason he or she is always ugly on top of that. The narrator is obnoxiously smug for no apparent reason. Fire the guy! I mean it! Or fire whoever told him that sounding like a self-important know-it-all fresh college graduate who secretly (and not so secretly) mocks every part of the history that doesn't have smartphones in it is how a historical narrator should sound like. There are some things which Humankind does well. Most of the resources - like iron - are not just temporarily useful for a few ages but remain important until the end. The combat can be quite good when it doesn't force you to spend half an hour positioning and re-positioning troops. The music is good. The graphics are good. The start as a nomadic hunter-gatherer tribe is good (but not used well enough - how about considering a REAL nomadic culture in the later ages next time?). There are other things that Humankind doesn't do well - the diplomacy, the religion, the resource and production balance - especially when switching to a culture which has different focus. All in all - it's a mediocre game. Recommended? No. MAYBE the next installment which was announced recently will be better if the biggest issues with this one are addressed properly. Otherwise it will be like the real humankind - eternal disappointment which never learns from its own history. Well, that will be ironic, wouldn't it?

The graphics and overall look of the game are attractive, but it's boring. The way battles are played is not interesting at all and also from the middle of history everything is very illogical. I don't know how to explain it but after the Middle Ages it doesn't give you the feeling that you are making history, everything is very rushed (and has nothing to do with the host settings).
In general, it is not a bad 4X game, certainly not when going by its aesthetics, but apparently it has not been the revolution that everyone was so hyped about back then. The core of the game feels like yet another iteration of the original Endless formula while using the most basic Civilization-typical aspects to start out as a possible competitor and go from there. But many aspects feel undercooked. Seemingly important ones like research feel like an afterthought or barebones at best. I also can't remember having seen such a bad implementation of wonders, natural or buildable ones, in any 4X game to date. Many mechanics feel like they are not supposed to mesh well or feel interesting. Religion. Fame. Diplomacy. You name it. Especially the latter I found irritating, considering that the culture and leader systems feel hyper-modularized. The era mechanics could have been enhanced if they had let the player configure more parameters at game setup. Like how many stars, in which era, and individual costs of technology, etc. Overall, there seem to be very many mechanics but very little interaction aside from exploration and combat and nagging narrative “choicy” events. Combat itself feels like in any Endless game derivative, partially a bit uninspired with little combat depth aside from positioning, and very tedious. You could do the same thing with one-turn auto-resolve. Alas, the auto-combat is unreliable as the game does not really quantify combat power well. Overall, it took a shot in the dark, probably had lofty ambitions, and if there were more interactivity and less of the floaty Endless gameplay, it would most likely have a lot of personality, which would contribute to its replayability. I strongly suggest getting this game on a strong discount (>75%) only.
Better then Civ 7 as good as Civ 6 for me at least. Good game that has gotten a lot of love since release so it still holds up. I hope that it continues to get updates and such.
Game was fine at the start, but at the 8 hour point the whole thing just starts breaking down and crashing. I moved a unit and my whole computer went to black and restarted. Now the whole thing is unplayable and Steam won't refund because it only starts to show problems past the 2 hour mark.
People often call this a lesser version of the Civ series, but it feels distinct enough and in depth on mechanics that are staples of Amplitude's games to be a stand out on its own. Not a replacement for Civ but its different and distinct in ways that make it fun to play as its own experience. As someone who has played both I really have had an easier time losing myself in this one more than the Civ games I did play. You might too.
即使遭受无数讥讽,你们依然没有放弃时代变革文明更替的机制,而是选择默默打磨并端出新作。 这种精神的确和隔壁某些光速滑跪、左右脑互搏的厂商高下立判。 加油!这次会成功的!
Glad I came back to this game after all this time. It's an interesting game which seems to have been improved a lot by its updates
As a big Amplitude fan, I naturally got this on launch and I'm sure glad I played this instead of Civ VI...or VII. wish it had more content though because it can get kinda samey. also the world congress is ass, don't bother with the DLC new zealand is busted
I can warmly recommend this game. I was VERY surprised that it is actually really good. This is what Civ 7 should have been like. Humankind really does to the concept where Civ should have gone long ago. It doesn't mean I hate Civ, I have played a good amount of Civ 7. But the age transitions and it's complete obsession with min-maxing just everything really makes it more stressful at times than enjoyable. Humankind really takes a fresh look at the concept and the genre and does A LOT right. I'm in my first playthrough and there, haven't seen a lot of negatives. Not everything is clear out of the box if you just know Civ, but in your 2nd game you will probably pretty much have understood how everything works. Recommended, also at full price if you're fan of the genre. Absolute must-buy if it's on sale!
