About
In Hotel 188, there are no monsters chasing you or cheap jumpscares. The fear comes from somewhere else: the atmosphere, the silence, the sound of your own footsteps… and that constant feeling that something doesn’t quite fit.
You wake up in a place you don’t recognize. Time doesn’t move forward, the rooms feel the same but different each time you return to them, and the only path is forward... even though you have no idea where “forward” is. Soon enough, disorientation becomes part of the journey. You start to get lost, doubt yourself, and wonder if you should keep playing or take a break. This is the real experience of the Backrooms. It’s not just about looking, it’s about feeling it deep inside.
Hotel 188 is not just about walking aimlessly. Along the way, you’ll find small puzzles that aren’t just there for decoration. They are part of the world, integrated into the environment, forcing you to think, go back, and observe more than you thought you needed. They’re not impossible, but they are designed to get under your skin, just when you thought you understood what was going on.
Every sound, every flickering light, every room that seems the same but isn’t… everything is crafted to make you feel that this “hotel” has a life of its own. And the worst part is, you don’t know if it wants you to leave… or stay.
Hotel 188 is for those who seek more than just a typical horror game. It’s for those who want to experience the true anxiety of the Backrooms, get lost in them, get frustrated, and still keep exploring. Because you know that somewhere in this maze, there’s an exit… or is there?

Really nice liminal backroom game, I enjoyed it very much No jump scares, (almost) no creepy shi.t Just you walking around finding a way out of it Tbh, I'd stay there for vacation, seems funky Only level that got a little on my nerves was the anomaly part Go for it, it's fun!
I wish i could reccomend this one. the puzzles are way too obscure and the enviroment isnt rewarding enough to make it worth it to go back 20 rooms for. i played it when it was still a demo and i feel like it used to be better before all the unnecessary complications :( could tell lots of love and thought was put into it though! keep going dev! <3

Decent "horror" or rather Liminal Space walking sim. However the levels are too maze like and you often have to repeat previous steps if you fail which is very annoying. Also often not clear what to do.
(Français voir plus bas) EN 🔷Wow. This game is a nice surprise! I've played a ton of Liminal Spaces and Backrooms games… I thought I'd seen them all. Well, no! This one is a little gem. There are a few puzzles but they're easy (I managed to solve them without any help!). The level design is incredible, and I was blown away by the layout of some of the locations; it was so strange. Furthermore, the subtle changes that appeared were perfectly balanced and made me feel uneasy. Graphics are decent (it's pretty). The atmosphere is great! It's very stressful and I can tell you that the ending scared the sh*t outa me. ⏱️DURATION⏱️ 3 hours (because I struggled at one point). 🔷TAGS🔷 Walking simulator. Puzzle. Backrooms / Liminal. ------------------------------------------------------ FR 🔷Waouh ! 🔷TAGS🔷 Walking simulator. Nice vibes and maybe the most visually interesting take on the liminal hotel I’ve seen. However, puzzles are more annoying than anything when you’re in a huge maze. I quit right at the end of level two because of this. It’s also a shame that there are a handful of ai slop images used in one of those puzzles. Misc: -Setting shadows to anything higher than Low makes the game stutter constantly when walking. -Vibes aren’t very creepy or claustrophobic.
The best liminal space game I've played even though I keep saying that for other ones. It was crafted with a lot of good surrealism, and some intricate puzzles throughout that you have to solve to progress. The soundtrack is warm dark ambient which ties into the ambivalent atmosphere.
Short but reasonably worth the price. There's a good bit of things to explore and see. The anomaly part I'd say is a standout, if you like those games, otherwise it isn't too hard if you don't. Otherwise, it's a pretty chill exploration with light puzzles.
Good puzzles. Fun rooms. Creepy Statue. What more might you be looking for in a game like this?
