Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.57/day in the week to Aug 24 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
Definitely wait for this to be on sale. I thought it was fun. Campaign was short, but levels were pretty good. Graphics and music was good. Story was bad and I hated that they abandoned the story telling style of the first 2 games.
I enjoy this game, it's a radical opinion I know. But I was invested in Homeworld since 2 and had very high expectations for this game. My expectations were not met but I enjoy the work done and I enjoy the vast majority of the game. The story could've been better and I wish there was more variety in ships and numbers especially with 2 years of delay but I am mainly happy to see Homeworld get a new game and I hope this failed game won't discourage them from trying Homeworld 4 and hopefully they take into account their faults with this game as a learning experience. Overall, gameplay was good, campaign was mid, wargames is ok, I recommend it if it is on sale if you are looking to try it, or even buy and return it if you don't like it.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 29: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I don’t see a good reason for all the hate this has received. I just finished the campaign and though I would have like it to be longer, I thought it was fun as-is. I’ve been a fan of the Homeworld series from the very beginning and this scratched that nostalgia itch I’ve had. Could the story have been better? Yes. But was it objectively bad? No. I regret not getting this sooner. I believed too much of the negative reviews and was afraid I’d hate it. When I saw it on sale for 50% off, I decided to give it a shot and I’m glad I did.
not the vibes from homeworld 1 or 2.. something is missing.. no replay value.. Played it, completed it.. my 13 hours playtime says it all.
I got this game for free, and I still paid too much.
Holy heck this was a let down. From the heights of HW1 and HW2 theres is this fking thing, from unskippable cutscene after unskippable cutscene, seriously seven minutes at the start of one mission, the majority showing that bad guys are flying ships and going to attack you. To re-writing the bad guys of HW2 into discriminated against minorities. You all know what sort of person worked on this and ruined this franchise. Its not what you want, shop elsewhere.

This is less like a grand space opera with huge maps that emphasize the sheer vastness of space, and more like a teenage drama packed in to tiny, cramped maps. The space hulks are a decent idea, but they way they are orchestrated here just make the mothership feel small and make the game feel cramped. A swing and a miss on just about every front. The Engine is decent, so it could be salvaged, it just needs a complete redesign of the campaign. Bigger maps, and a grander feel. I don't even want to talk about the absolute garbage story. The homeworld story was never about individuals, but rather the survival of the entire people. This is another way the game became that much smaller.
If you liked homeworld 2 you will be able to enjoy this game. If you liked homeworld 1 and homeworld emergence then this game will feel like a pale shadow in many ways. Like all the homeworlds you are able to get the vibe of being alone out in space. The music is on theme. the comm chatter is not quite as good but still manages to captures the spirit of the other games. The voice acting is usually adequate but varies quite a bit. The AI is a lot weaker. Ships don't understand their formations and adapt their formations to their environment like they did in HW 1. Sometimes I would have ships flying off at an enemy after I had told them to attack a different enemy cluster or just turning around for no clear reason. You have to be very specific and it becomes tedious. The story has a couple of cool moments but fails to understand that homeworld became famous because it was a story of a people trying to make a better world for their children against all odds. This story tied itself to a cheesy theme of 'you are never alone'. It doesn't have the scale and maturity that HW 1 had and makes it feel juvenile by comparison. The art in-game I really enjoyed. The ships are all nicely detailed and designed. The VFX work was professional. The UI is AAA quality in appearance. The art in the cutscenes appears to have been outsourced and feels a bit cheap. The artists cut-corners on lots of dynamics and resolution so it ends up feeling like the characters are not quite human but rather stiff robots in disguise. They really should have just gone with a more comic book art style like we see in the art in the credits and worked out of stills. Give it a go if you love the series it was a cool game to see still but it does make me sad that we waited so long and theres been so much discussion about the problems with homeworld 2 only to see the same mistakes made.
This is abandonware and I wish I could get my money back
