Home is Where One Starts... is a short, first-person exploration game in the same vein as Dear Esther or Gone Home. It’s a story about childhood, hope, and the miracle of memory. You play as a little girl from a broken home somewhere in the American South.

Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Nettes Spiel für Zwischendurch, mehr nicht.
I really wanted to like this, as I'm a sucker for narrative-driven, melancholic games, but Home is Where One Starts ended up feeling a bit too shallow for my taste. I understood the story and could even relate to parts of it, but it just didn't resonate with me. I think it could have been much more impactful with stronger, more polished storytelling. I also had a pretty big WTF moment when I managed to pick up an item through a wall. It's a minor issue but definitely caught me off guard.

A short (took me about an hour to get all achievements) but immersive and for me at least, a somehow relaxing experience (despite its story, I just like being around some trees) that decently succeeded in putting me into the shoes of its main character. 7/10
TLDR: "A game that should be free" I got this game after playing the very cool demo "We Harvest Shadows" by the same developer. I wanted to see some early work he did. He sure has come a long way. Positives: I did like the environment (non-graphically). It reminded of the small town I grew up in. I also liked the narrator's voice; it was nice and fitting to the story and setting. The music (without the triggering) was good as well) Negatives. The game looks ands feel very dated. It also had two stutters on my 5080. That shouldn't happen as I can play max on any game with my setup. The game is very short and honestly it not really even a game as it lacks any story that matters or is of substance. The music also goes in and out triggered by certain areas and to be honest, it's really annoying. It just needs to be in the background playing all the time. Lastly, the biggest issue. This game literally made my stomach hurl from the motion sickness. I have only had that in a few games and this game was one of the worst. In conclusion, this is a thumbs down for me. Developer, just put this free. I got this less than a dollar and still feel cheated. I walked in wanting an asmr experience but got no feels at all playing this and I played quit a few asmr type walking simulators. With that bad motion sickness it gave me, this game is in never play again vault and will stay that way. If it ever goes free, give it a whirl Otherwise, nah.
Very cool and well made game. The atmosphere is insane with song choice, graphics and story lines. For its price surely worth it. All the achievments are more than easy and entertaining, collected them with ease. Vibe+ game, absolutly recomend, will improve your day after playing!
Chill and relaxing
Относительно короткая игра с одной небольшой локацией. Просто тщательно изучаем всю территорию - собираем воспоминания, а потом уезжаем в закат. Пройдено!
Sad and lovely.
