Hollow knight was my first metroidvania and I quit it after 18 hrs and swore I'd never play a metroidvania again. Then I discovered Ori's, and they showed me the beauty of metroidvanias. Something about Silksong kept calling me, even though I hated HK. So I took a chance, and tried it. What I got, was one of the craziest gaming experiences. This game is amazing, from beginning to end, but holy hell is it hard. Souls-like hard, maybe worse. Now I've quit many souls-likes, (I beat Sekiro), due to hard bosses. Silksong, has many. I spent 4 days, probably 30 hours on the final boss. They are hard, and they force you to be perfect, but they never beat you down. From the first fight, I knew I could beat the bosses. Even if it took me hours, I knew putting together a perfect jump, a pogo, a dash, putting it all together for a few mins, and taking down each an every boss. It was thrilling, it was heartbreaking, it was borderline controller breaking, but damn it's an experience I'll never forget!! Thank you Team Cherry! PS. I'm going back to give HK another shot.
og hollow knight on top but its still aight
