About
[HERROR] is a series of short horror episodes where everyday work routines collide with paranormal threats. Each episode is a unique standalone story lasting 1.5–2 hours.
You’re looking at the first episode of the [HERROR] anthology.
Dan Cooper, a 25-year-old night shift gas station worker in Ohio, recently laid off from a uranium plant, is trying to put his life back together. But everything changes when his friend Michael discovers a mysterious case by the lake. Soon, people begin to vanish in the surrounding woods, and the cozy gas station turns into a deadly trap.
A surprisingly good breakout horror game!
Before I write this review I want to share that I was given a free copy of the game to review. The being said, I am always quite critical when it comes to reviews, and don't shy away from pointing out issues with games. Feel free to check my other 450+ reviews. Now on to the review: This game genuinely surprised me! My first impression when I saw this game and played the demo months ago was that it was just going to be another run-of-the-mill horror game in a similar scope of "Fears to Fathom". Also, being the first game from HERROR, I was expecting not much more. But, I will say that the story was pretty good, and the build up wasn't reptitive and the game kept you interested from start to finish, which not many games manage to do. And, the game is THOROUGHLY UNHINGED at some points. But definitely got a good reaction and laugh out of me! I am curious of what other endings there could be, given the choices you can make in the game. Overall, the game is good. For the price you get about 2-2.5hrs of gameplay, and a pretty interesting and enjoyable story. If I hadn't been gifted a copy, I would 100% have been happy with the price tag. AND I had a blast playing this with my stream!
My ONE complaint is going to be the use of AI.
The dev discloses this, and it is quite a small amount of it - mainly being a few images used for an item shop on the in-game computer. But, I see those 4 single AI-gen images and just ask... why? Like you seriously couldn't get a pic of a flashlight, a camera, geiger counter, and a revolver somewhere? Like... come on lmao. Game is good, don't sully the good image with some random AI thrown in just cause. You could EASILY replace those 4 images and call it a day.

This was a great game! Cant wait for the next chapter!
