Reviews
Looks nice, sounds nice, but doesn't play nice. What is it? This game. Gets repetitive quickly, stages take up too much of your time per run while half of it is just sitting AFK watching mobs die. Could be better if you could speed it up to a point that you're only doing card selection, but it's not a thing sadly.
Important Tip!
Under the game's settings, make sure to turn off the Visual FX before beginning play. This will resolve the crippling framerates and crash issues introduced in an update.
Overview
Heretic's Fork is a fun tower defense, autobattler game with a deckbuilding component to it. Tasked with preventing sinners from escaping Hell, players set up defenses to fend off the rushing hordes while listening to some really great music (if they want). The game is not difficult, and there are some fourth wall aspects to the game's lore that is adequate but could have been handled better.
Gameplay
Most actions are taken between waves when time is paused so the game is immediately less hectic than other tower defense games. Build your deck (from the offered cards through RNG), combine and play cards, and take any other actions between rounds without pressure and with as much time as needed. When the player finishes taking their actions they end their turn and see how their tactics unfolds for the upcoming wave. Win or lose, there is a nice progression system in the game which unlocks more cards for future runs as you play. In addition, there are different characters a player can choose to use that each respectfully provides unique powers that subtly changes how a run progresses between them.
Closing Remarks
Heretic's Fork is a decent game, and one I've enjoyed overall. Personally, I play the game on the fastest speed with any "Active" powers set on automatic and then return to do what's needed between rounds whilst I do other things online or in real life. It's a chill game despite the theme. However, that relaxed style of play is not for everyone so please keep that in mind. Final score: 6.5 / 10.

Every market we collect.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Jul 30 → 0.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

i hate so much about the things you choose to be way too easy, simply mindless, there's barely any strategic thinking required. the only difficulty comes from RNG. it's a glorified idle game where the game pauses itself for you to make a menial decision every 20-30 seconds, just enough time for it to be an inconvenience rather than stimulating gameplay. progression each run is very, very slow. if you're going for hellfire, you play hellfire cards. if you don't get hellfire cards, you lose. adapting to a situation is rarely ever possible as a product of both the extremely limited deck control and the overall lack of decisions to make during each stage. you don't feel like the "Manager of Hell" at all :( this isn't awful or without merit at all, it just falls flat being little more than a timesink. their upcoming game appears to be substantially more interesting.
8/10 The game has a few bugs and one of the Achievements is impossible with a controller as the input on the controller, while labeled the same and performs the same function, does not register progress for the associated "TASK". Simple mechanics, a great soundtrack, easy to multi-task with.
An very well-executed and original tower defense game. The core gameplay is addictive and easy to get into. 100% Completion Time : 25.4H Completion Difficulty : 4/10 Playthroughs : 11 + Missables : None Notable requirements : Complete a run with all characters and on each difficulty, complete all challenges.
玩到后期纯靠运气,不刷到关键牌只能重开,打完后没有TD成功的成就感,只有解脱感 ps:核爆这张牌我连续三局都不成功,真背啊我OTL
Good, second monitor kind of fun.
A stylish but very stripped back tower defense game that lacks replay-ability and has less interaction that free flash games of the mid 00's (IFKYK). You can skip this one.
Nice atmosphere, good soundtrack. It's just too repetitive with little possibility of shaping the decks - at least in my experience.
