About
Hellish Quart is a local-only (two players play on one PC, not online), physics-based sword fighting game. Set in 17th century Poland, it features a cinematic story and the most iconic sword fighter archetypes of this period.
With motion-captured fencing techniques and four gamepad buttons representing four attack angles, you'll need to use timing, technique, and speed to defeat your opponents. Choose from a variety of warriors and take part in cinematic story mode, arcade mode, safe sparring, quick fights, survival mode with online leaderboards, or local multiplayer. If you want to hone your sword fighting skills, you can spar with wooden weapons or train in modern HEMA gear. And for the ultimate experience, Hellish Quart also offers an optional VR mode.
Please note that the game is still in development and only supports local multiplayer (two players play on one PC, not online).

Hellish Quart utilizes active ragdolls and real-time physics to get you the ultimate fencing experience. You can attack from four different angles using the four gamepad buttons. Different button combinations enable special attacks and combos. When you are not attacking, your character automatically assumes a defensive stance, blocking your opponent's attacks using the autoguard feature. Proper timing, technique, speed, measure, and wits are all crucial to winning, just like in real-world fencing.
The game is set in the historical 17th-century Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and the character models are based on 3D-scanned, reconstructed clothes from that period. The single-player campaign, once completed, will be firmly rooted in the reality of life in the region. You will duel against Zaporozhian Cossacks, Polish Hussars, Tatars, Turkish Janissaries, Swedish Reiters, French Musketeers, and more.

Really addicting game. Of the various sword-fighting games which I have played some have been definitely fun time wasters but I think this is the only one that I would describe as "good" in some skillful, strategic sense rather than just being wacky. This is true even when it is a little janky sometimes! I think this is also the first fighting game I have been able to personally have fun with. It combines the attributes of being intuitive enough while being happy to punish you for mistakes, which makes it hard to stop playing.
Bardzo polecam

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Easy to pick up, High skill celing, cpu's are competent but not oppresive to new players. The game gives the perfect enviroment to teach you the game and you can learn the rest from playing. I havent played the story but survival mode is fun and has good replayability. My only qualm with this is that there is no matchmaking, that would really expand the game from a fun arcade game to something that is actually competitive that you can spend hundreds or thousands of hours on
easy to play hard to master . makes you want to fence in real life . wish we had more .
Just played for the first time - love it. Can't wait to see the final product. I think "physics based" may be a little stretch, as I was able to use pretty normal fighting game tactics to beat the AI. This is the type of indy game I can get behind. No paywall, just very very polished core gameplay. It's pretty relaxing to focus on defense and make a clean riposte. I turned off the music and it was like I was actually sword fighting someone in a field. Pretty wild immersion in that way. The drunk priest is also awesome.
很难在市面上找到打铁打得这么爽,而且十分拟真的游戏了。就是对于新人来说不太友好。
Movement. Timing. Feints. Execution.
IMPORTANT: This review is marked as a positive one because the game has the POTENTIAL to be perfect. There is nothing quite like it, and when it works, it's amazing fun. The caveat there is "when it works." The game only has two full-time developers, so obviously it's got instances of jankiness. The physics can be unpredictable at times in a way that can be frustrating, especially on characters with very flowy, sweeping attacks like Dynis or some of Father Zera's. Physics of the bodies can have issues on occasion, like how sometimes in long guard, Maryna's arm will also bend at angles an arm could not happen as it tries to keep the shield in contact with the enemy weapon. Hit detection is also sometimes shaky, with cuts registering sometimes even without an attack being thrown just by a character model making contact with a blade. However, despite these issues, I love this game. It's unique, and it's fun. It even got me to buy a sword in real life. I have full confidence that the developers, in time, will polish out all of the flaws. So I'm gonna stick around until then. Despite its flaws, this game is the best $18 I've ever spent.
Zaskakująco dobry dubbing w tej króciutkiej kampanii. Ciekawa gierka, widać, że bardzo indie, ale ciekawa.
Great game cant wait for the story mode to be progressed. Probably best to buy when its on sale
