About

Enter the explosive conflict of the Vietnam War and fight your way through some of the fiercest clashes in modern history. Join the battle raging across an extreme landscape of vast mountain gorges and thick jungle, where the North Vietnamese Armies clash with the military strength of the US Armed Forces. Build tunnels, fly helicopters, drive patrol boats, use historically accurate weapons and work with your team to achieve victory.

Take the battle to the enemy across 6 large-scale maps inspired by real world locations. Play as either the North Vietnamese Army or US Armed Forces and choose from one of 17 specialised roles within a 50-strong team made up of multiple squads. Join or lead infantry, recon, armour, mortar squads and helicopter units, using communication and teamwork with your fellow players to identify objectives and ruthlessly exploit your opponent’s weaknesses. Emergent gameplay features bring intensity and realism to the conflict, as players tackle each battle with authentic weapons, orders and tactics. Follow the chain of command and work together as a team to meet your objectives and achieve victory.

In the heat and fury of the Vietnam War, the battle is more dynamic than ever. New US aerial units feature fully operational helicopters for fire support and supply drops. NVA forces can build extensive tunnel networks to gain the upper hand with surprise attacks. Both sides can hunt the enemy through Vietnam’s complex river network with heavily armed patrol boats built and launched to seek and destroy. Enhanced player movement, including swimming, climbing and fast crawling, and interactions such as dragging co-combatants away from active fire to give them a chance to heal and re-engage, all adds to the immersive battle experience.

Hell Let Loose: Vietnam features multiple distinct gameplay modes pitting players against each other in epic 50 vs 50 multiplayer battles. Warfare mode is a 50 vs 50 tug-of-war style confrontation where two teams fight for control over 5 sectors. Offensive breaks down the opposing forces into an attacking side and a defending side. Alternating new game modes mix up the gameplay parameters to maximise the battlefield experience. This is as immersive as warfare gets!

Hory mory!
Sticking to my initial review, but going to elaborate a little bit... The only true step up this game has over the WW2 HLL is the fact that it's cross-platform. Besides that this game, I would say, is almost an entire downgrade from the original. It's launch was rough, and even after constant patches from the developers this game still has persistent audio and visual bugs. I genuinely don't understand how HLL had a more stable experience during it's early access years than this game does as a fully released title. Helicopters are fun and new, but you can't even land on all the spots on some maps because the altitude is capped. Tanks don't get stuck as much but the fact you can still be dead-stopped by some small wooden structure is disappointing. Napalm burns through buildings but doesn't destroy any structures. Guns mostly sounds pathetic, and not only that, the most reliable head-shotting weapon is a pistol at that. The M16 is a complete joke of a weapon. Tunnels now take 10 minutes to be replaced but can still be heard 100 meters away and people still end up playing them 50 meters from a corresponding garrison even though the max range is 400. Conquest is a fun game mode but people keep proving their IQ's aren't high enough to comprehend they need to defend. Class grind isn't as steep as in the first game, and although that might seem like a plus, it ends up making people that still don't have an in-depth grasp of the game pass up opportunities for aiding the team. Basically, the games current balance is confusing at best, and I dearly wish the developers would just add cross-plat to the original HLL. I'd personally would have a more enjoyable time on that game than this one. Until then, I'll just stick to the love-hate I have for this one.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Matched by title — a reused name can pair the wrong games. * is a critic aggregate. Prices and positions are each store's United States storefront; Epic charts worldwide. Audience and Score too, except Steam's, which is worldwide.

If you can understand the mechanics of the game, ignoring some bugs and crashes which hopefully get fixed, its actually a solid game to play. Really fun to get screamed at by the commanders and the community is funny asf. Even as a beginner its been fun learning how to use all the roles and I recommend it for people who want a taste of realism with humor. Overall its a good game just needs a good amount of tweaks for the quality of the game.
Good chaos for big group
A lot of bugs to iron out, but solid
Genuinely unplayable if you have AMD. I try and try and try again to get into games, and once I select my faction, the game crashes. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. They pushed an update today with supposed fixes for AMD crashes but honestly feels much worse than before. A complete waste of time and money trying to play this unfinished pile of garbage. In the very rare instances I have been able to play a match, I have a good time and mostly enjoy it, but with the constant, and I mean CONSTANT crashing, I am extremely dissatisfied with this product. Such a shame, I enjoy Hell Let Loose but this Vietnam reskin is hot garbage.
There's a lot of valid criticism about this game. It definitely needs polishing to call it a 1.0 release; however, this game captures the chaos of Jungle combat like no game I've ever played. Vegetation, sound, and movement must all be carefully considered if you want to survive. If you like the original HLL this is a must buy. If you haven't played original HLL, understand that you're buying a hardcore milsim shooter that's VERY different. Unlike most shooters where movement is life, the opposite is often true in this game. You can't run out in the open with wanton abandon. This game rewards players who fight with their brains.
Let us lock you out of the ability to choose your class because slots are filled... , and make sure you play vegetation peakaboo with little to no visibility and a bunch of monkeys running around because we forgot that skill based matchmaking is not that hard to make, horrible game if it wasn't gifted to me I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.
