Hearts of Iron IV is not a game, it is a logical masterpiece that only super geniuses can understand. The average simpleton may be able to download this masterpiece and even play it but they will NEVER understand the complexity. I pity those idiots who have never played Hearts of Iron IV, so foolish and ignorant. They quarrel over earthly issues like climate change and equality. None of that matters, all that matters is Hearts of Iron IV. Hearts of Iron IV displays the complexity of the Second World War in more detail than any idiotic historian could dream of. I pity those leaders of the current nations, thinking they are more important than us Hearts of Iron IV players. We are superior, we are above. We could rule any country and win any war from our training, thousands of hours playing Hearts of Iron IV. Have a nice day in your delusions simpletons.

As much as I love this game, Paradox's increasingly overmonetization of this game can't be ignored at this point. The Devs are constantly rushed to pump out more DLCs for minor countries, and then Corporate slaps ridiculous price tags on them. They also have made DLCs that literally overwrite other DLCs, and will pair giant features with minor DLCs in order to make an excuse to bump up their prices; Features that should be in free updates. The base game is incredibly bare bones, the DLC is essentially 90% of the actual content for the game. The Dev team also constantly get blamed for the poor choices and pricing that the upper-management makes and are typically used like the first line of defense, Shields that will absorb and deflect most of the criticism away from the rest of the company. Paradox listens to shareholders and business consultants on critical and creative decisions more so than their actual Dev teams and audiences

Normally, I really enjoy this game, but a community team member named Chak falsely accused the founder of our country, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, of being responsible for genocide and banned people who had Atatürk as their profile picture simply because they had him in their profile. That is not all; he also banned people he perceived as Turkish through Discord. By banning people simply because they were Turkish, this person has shown great disrespect toward us Turkish players. Furthermore, this person, who supports the so-called “Armenian Genocide,” clearly has little understanding of history. The claim that an “Armenian Genocide” took place is, in our view, a historical lie and a completely false accusation. Even putting aside how absurd it is to defend such a claim, Atatürk was not even in the areas where Armenians lived during those years. He was fighting at Gallipoli, far away from those regions. Therefore, trying to associate Atatürk with the so-called “Armenian Genocide” is completely baseless. This ridiculous and foolish statement, seemingly made just to insult and undermine our proud history, is a great disrespect toward us Turkish players. And to those who genuinely consider Atatürk a controversial figure, please take a few minutes to look at the other profiles. Leaders who actually committed genocides can apparently be used as profile pictures without any problem, but Mustafa Kemal Atatürk cannot? I will not play this game again unless Chak is removed from his position, an apology is made to Turkish players, and Chak is removed from all Paradox communities and prevented from participating in them again. And don't forget that Turkish players are among the top ten largest player groups for Paradox games.

Paradox keeps locking basic features and content behind expensive DLC. I’d rather pay for meaningful expansions than $20 for small additions or $6 for voice lines.

Really bad game with bad mechanics.

Hearts of Iron IV offers a captivating experience for strategy and history enthusiasts. Despite its positive aspects such as deep strategic options, historical recreation, and military planning, the steep learning curve and certain mechanical shortcomings might be challenging for some players. However, for those who appreciate the complexity and details, it can provide a rewarding war strategy experience.
