HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME!!! This is a hidden gem. 10/10 in my books. Amazing game play, good music, good main story, fun side quests, and funny dialogs. Mainly, just relaxing but keeping me engaged to the game.

Harvestella is a good game but not the best in its genre I've played so far. It is subpar as a farming simulator and an action RPG, but it is redeemed by a good scenario, good visuals and great musics. Of course, it's job from one of Square Enix's B-team, and it shows, but you'll have a good time with it, especially if it is your first Farm Simulator/Action RPG combo experience. I hope Square Enix will carry on with this kind of game and improve (maybe by strenghtening the team and a higher budget). A 6-7 out of 10 in my opinion. If you want a better game in the genre, I recommend you the two by Pathea Games "My Time at Portia" and its sequel "My Time at Sandrock" (which will be out of early access by november 2023. I thought I would uninstall the game, but for some reason I kept coming back to it and eventually even finished it. There's something very likeable about this game that is more than the mere sum of it's parts. Gameplay wise it's quite mediocre. It's 50% farming sim and 50% traditional japanese rpg and it It doesn't balance well between these two different gaming modes. Too many quests use the same locations, too many quests have a similar pattern. You keep killing the same monsters over and over again. But did I enjoy playing it? Yes. Why? The story, the characters, the mystery, the soundtrack... it hit me in the feels several times. The game starts in a fantasy setting, but it has a mysterious sci-fi setting hidden beneath the fantasy, and it was really satisfying to unravel this mystery. So would I recommend the game? Yes. But you have to know what you get into. You have to give it some time. And let's say, if you're not hooked by Chapter 3, you can just skip the rest of the game. But chances are you might get hooked and play it all the way to the end.
great mix of jrpg and farming sim lite.
Really good all round game. Good fun and a good challenge in parts. Nice atmosphere and world to explore. It is quite simple in design but it's a beautiful experience. Some of the recipes and such are unlocked a bit to late depending how you play which is a shame but i still really enjoy it.
The graphics, character movement, combat and story are all a PS2 special, but it is still a ton of fun. I would not recommend paying $60 for it, maybe $25-30. The fact that a year on Square is still charging full price is ridiculous.
