Just finished playing, Honestly could have just not played this at all. Graphics were pretty good but there was so much wrong with this. From the lore inaccuracies to the bad voice RE-acting to the hand holding dialog additions from Cortana, this truely was if you asked chat GPT to remake Halo. its a crap copy of the original with better graphics. Such a disapointment
The game has broken rebind controls.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Gameplay and Graphics are good I cant hate. But is it really worth paying full retail price of a brand new game for a second remaster of a 20+ year old game? No. Especially when you remember that Halo was hijacked by a bunch of woke theater kids, who made the game less about the things that made Halo cool, and more about pushing an agenda that back fired in the most spectacular way. Hence why they had to rebrand themselves from 343 to Halo Studios. It's almost like they realized that nobody cares about their idiotic virtue signaling when they were shoving minority armor sets down our throats in Halo infinite, and were like. "Hey guys we're totally not trying to brainwash new halo fans into voting Democrat, and to prove it we are going to resell the same story that you already paid to experience twice. Only this time Sgt Johnson is actually going to be played by a black guy. Isn't that awesome?!" No it's not. Nobody gave a ♥♥♥♥ then. Nobody gives a ♥♥♥♥ now.
It's not bad, I even enjoyed the new missions, I won't even go into the issues with co-op, this will be a single player review... and even then it has way too many bugs (i.e. second bonus mission is extremely buggy, allied npcs just vanish sometimes and dialogue acts like they are there when they aren't even on the field, game can't keep up if you go too fast sometimes and it breaks a little, some buggy achievements which I will get to) It just... feels like it wasn't even properly playtested, I wouldn't leave a bad review but forcing me to do Keyes on heroic, not counting, once more on legendary NOT counting, and then a third time just deciding ok yeah it works now, its just annoying (and even MORE annoying is that the game has NO way to check which missions you beated in which difficulty so good luck if it happens to you and you gotta go one by one to see which one was it... and bonus points if the mission REFUSES to count it again because then you really have no idea) and when I tried to do the Clean Lap achievement, I had to do it four different times for it to finally work (Look it up, way too many people had trouble with this and other achievements) honestly just stick with MCC, that one works properly I mean its been over a month and a half and still has buggy achievements, imagine finishing LASO, no achievement pop-up and you find out one mission didn't count and you cannot even tell which one since the progress its permanent so can't undo to check back... also I get it, no pvp, co-op only, sure fine... but you could had at least added firefight or more PVE modes... Remix is alright but...
I don't know how this studio even does it, but they made a remake horrid. It's absolutely awful. First they over emphasize the female soldiers especially in cutscenes. Apparently the lot of the female soldiers are unkillable but the male soldiers are killable, Cortana is overexplaining things to you like you are 5 years old. The elites are speaking English for some reason. The AI is dumbed down even on Legendary. There is so much wrong with it. Don't get me started on the prequel missions. Absolute slop. they need to do a mass firing of the people that work in this studio and restart it with people who actually love the franchise, not people who are freely changing the narrative and retconning OG Halo lore. I played this on game pass and decided to buy it cuz I love HALO, but I cannot play this god awful shlop anymore. it was better when bungie was doing it. Sad.
Dumpster fire
I've played mods on MCC better than this garbage that have more content. Halo 5 campaign was better than this crap. Bonus missions are stupid too, Highly recommend to turn the audio down and put your favorite music on instead. I completed the game on LASO and to be honest it's definitely the easiest game of the bunch. The AI is actually terrible too. I feel bad for you if this is your first Halo title. Its sorry that people got paid to animate parts of the game and just gave up animating certain things like the hog swapping seats is so ridiculous. Mixed reviews on steam is so misleading too, it should be mostly negative. I don't recommend paying for this game just play it through Game Pass. My Dad loves Halo CE, we played the original a lot together. This game is definitely the worst remake/remaster of a halo campaign of all time.
This is my first review on steam. I feel strongly enough about to bother with it. Halo studios is a sorry excuse for a game developer. How can you take such a beloved franchise as Halo and turn it into this? Changing their name doesn't change anything else. Spoiler warning! PROS: the graphics are amazing, although tough on my PC, and others apparently (UE5 for you-needed to adjust the settings multiple times-annoying to me). Chief's armor looks great and the gameplay itself is solid. I love the lingering lights of the plasma weapons where they landed and the brute weapons in the new missions look like crude mechanical devices with a fire and gears and smoke which i thought was a nice touch. Also, adding weapons from later games was cool. The flood look great and I love the edition of all the flood biomass and the flood tank form. My favorite mission was Keyes because seeing the covenant fight the flood in the crashed ship with all the green glowing engine fuel and destruction was great. The first flood mission is great too. I personally am neutral to sprint it feels ok to me why wouldn't a super soldier be able to run faster. CONS: Oh boy. Why do so many games have upscaling like DLSS5? I'd rather not have that-the less AI the better. Film grain is not good imo either. Motion blur is dumb and not being able to turn off aim assist without a skull is retarded. That shouldn't be something "unlockable" it should be a basic option in the settings... Every single item on the ground having an icon popping up is so extra just stop. And why do the invisible elites have red markers over them telling you exactly where they are? I mean come on we aren't babies. 30 FPS cutscenes threw me off but that's whatever I guess. The new prequel missions are not worth your time. They are boing and linear. That one ODST character is insufferable. I know the lore is spartans and ODST have beef but chief literally saved their butts. The cutscenes are god awful. Honestly, it looks like AI made it to me. The covenant just stand in place and awkwardly sway back and forth. WTF is that? The cutscene where Keyes slams the covenant ship into the two hunters going after chief in sloooow mootiooon was cringe. I don't like how the brutes kill their own-they're not dumb. Just may kill a grunt or two in the way perhaps, not other brutes lol. They also reused music from the older games in the new missions which is just so lazy. it doesn't fit in. Many older animations, voice lines and sounds where reused as well. I understand that reusing old assets is common but at least make enough new stuff to make it more unique. I like to mess with the dead bodies of enemies but sometimes it would and sometimes it wouldn't-a little annoying to me but whatever. Also the grunt backpacks didn't explode in the new missions for me but did in the base game. I agree with the sentiment that this was just a test run to get a feel for UE5 for the future games and make some money at it. If the next games are anything like this I wont be buying it. They can't come up with their own content if their lives depended on it and, for the most part, can't even remake the old game correctly. They wasted the potential of releasing the first Halo game on playstation to bring new customers. I'm sad. TLDR: okayish for someone who never played halo before, but you're better off playing the original or the first remake! lol
