One of the most replayable shoot em ups I’ve ever enjoyed. The first was fantastic but Habroxia 2 kicks the franchise into a whole new gear. One of my favorite aspects of the game is how it can appeal to both shmup purists and players who like their shooters more modern. Really hoping for a third in the series…. I know Lillymo are about to release their next game (which also looks great) so maybe Habroxia 3 can be the team’s next project after the dust settles for that one. A boy can dream!

Heard about the game through LSM. Ended up being a really good game. It felt a little slow at first, but once I was able to upgrade my ship, it was really fun.
Short, fun game that ran great on my steam deck. Great music and smooth gameplay. Difficulty was pretty easy, but it makes for a chill experience.
Decent shoot’em up with same-looking stages and easy gameplay. There are two modes available, although it is recommended that you start with campaign because arcade has a bit harder difficulty. The gameplay is very typical of a space shooter. The biggest twist is that your main gun follows a twin-shooter mechanic that can fire in either direction. However, if you prefer the old arcade mechanic, you may enable it in the controls settings. The ship has a secondary attack that takes a few seconds to recharge. Weapons that are frequently used as primary weapons in similar games can be found here. Some of the possibilities are Vulcan gun, scatter shot, and missiles. Most of it is unavailable when you begin, therefore you must battle bosses to obtain new equipment. Another great feature is that the weapon may be fired forward or backward, and you can have a different weapon in each direction. Boost is another ability that uses secondary weapon energy, however it is used only very rarely to destroy small rocks and obstructions. Although enemies drop a lot of items, these little rocks frequently hide the best items. You can collect credits, health, or one of the special weapons like bombs or lasers. You can only carry one, so keep it for when you truly need it. Stages are nothing that hasn’t been seen before. It can become repetitive after a while because they look so similar with the same enemies. The objective is to avoid obstacles and kill as many enemies as possible, but the game keeps things interesting by mixing side-scrolling and vertical stages. A huge plus is branching campaign. There is, of course, a boss fight at the end. Stages have a couple of extras that urge you to replay them; bounty on a marked enemy and a missing astronaut that needs to be collected. Everything can be upgraded with credits found throughout the stages. The first stages can be a bit difficult because you’re so weak, but you will soon blast through everything when you upgrade the main gun. You only need to replay the first stages a few times and you shouldn’t have any trouble later.
This is one of those games thats really awesome, and that i found myself legitimately enjoying, just to fall short..... literally. + The pixel art was really good, I can tell a lot of work was put into it. Every movement and action is animated super well + the game is super fun, clearing wave after wave of enemies is immensely satisfying + the music is solid, it fits the game really well - I found options to change controls, but i couldnt find any way to bind specials to Q and E, ability to shift, and shooting to arrow keys, which meant i had to spend a bit of time adjusting to UHJK. - the weapons felt fairly unbalanced, with cutter being godlike compared to just about everything else, especially because missiles seemed bugged in that only one would shoot out max if the fight was sideways (or vertical.... i forgot which one) + the plot and logs are actually not bad, they flesh out the game quite a bit. - the game is very expensive, it costs 3$ per hour in short, this is a really solid game, but in a market full of top down and/or side scrolling shooters, it is not worth paying the premium for this one.
Challenging but worth it
Macht Spaß in die Welt dieses Spiel einzutauchen.
