About
It's a weird time for fans of modern tank combat games. The straight-shooting simulator titles from the turn of the millennium are no more. As tank nerds, we need a game that gets right to the good stuff - modern tanks, realistic system and damage models, and a focus on fun over all.
With Gunner, HEAT, PC! we aim to make that dream a reality.
GHPC will blend game and simulation in just the right amounts, providing awesome fire control and ballistics simulation behind deceptively simple controls. This core feature set serves as the foundation for a rich single player campaign mode, skirmish missions, and (eventually) cooperative multiplayer modes: a satisfying option for every taste. And let's not forget about infantry and support units - tanks weren't built to fight alone. AI-controlled combined arms forces will round out the tactical environment and let armored units shine the way they were meant to.
We're making a great tank game because that's what we want to play.
GHPC features a fictional conflict between NATO and the Warsaw Pact in central Germany circa 1985. Play as armored units from the United States, Soviet Union, German Democratic Republic, and Federal Republic of Germany.

This game is amazing, great graphics, great fire control systems, great physics, but EVERY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MISSION you are out numbered, doesent matter what side your on, seriously, you can put it to the easiest settings possible and you will still die. you cannot win, if the game somehow fixes this? ill play again but for christ sakes guys.
Huge fan of the genre and I feel like this could be excellent, a lot of us have been looking for a singleplayer war thunder and this would scratch that itch. Unfortunately it's just not quite there yet, it doesn't run great (5090 & 9950X3D) & it does feel a bit empty. The sound effects are excellent and so are the visuals of the vehicles themselves. I wish these guys had a huge profit and unlimited developers to put into this because it's so close to being good, but it's just let down by a few big things.
In my last session I was killed four times by AI shooting through bushes and trees at long range. The enemy had no line of sight on me, and I had no line of sight on it either. The AI simply ignores cover and fires through solid vegetation as if it were not there. Until this is fixed, review will stay negative.
Incredibly underwhelming, thought the mechanics would be cool and I'd be clearing out tanks and infantry but I'm just getting sniped by ai that don't need to range find, can see through trees, hills and bushes and are just overpowered. I wouldn't by this right now, it's not in a good place, the realism really just works against you.
Don't buy this game. Don't listen to Reddit either. You are unironically better off paying for premiums in war thunder than buying this game. I know seeing many Youtubers play this game seeing some cool gameplay ontop of other cool amature military enthusiastic stuff make you want to buy, but don't, all of it is false advertising... yes all of them... for starters the missions in the instant action are very mind numbing, you go in a mission you get the OPTION to change the execution plan, so you do, but you can't just walk in cause this is suppose to be a immersive "realistic" game depicting such frontline, you don't just drive into a killzone, so you try to map out the enemy and what would you know they disappear off the map in couple of seconds, and you can't maintain a lock cause that will increase the chances of you instantly getting lazered to death from beyond a kilometer away by a enemy who is using a machine gun iron sight.... okay lets try to drive around the enemies then, oh what would you know there is another enemy further ahead blocking all your attempts from reaching the objective so you are PINNED now. The objectives alot of times make no sense on the map and the 3D world, the mission goals on paper when reading make sense "ok right so we are trying to 'kill thing' or trying to get town/area or "locate" enemy, but no you have to get inside a janky box that decides on its own sentient whim if you are really inside it or not, there are multiple of these and they give absolute 0 advantage to the player, at times there are places more advantageous than the box objectives, they are in many times NOT NEEDED, the player is already there we finished it we got to the town we smashed the enemy but no there is this stupid insistence of driving BACK from the main point of the mission which is the town or area to go inside this stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ box NO DUDE WE GOT THE TOWN WE FINISHED IT WE WON, and based on what this game is you think you would be able to change that on the map right ? NO YOU CANNOT CHANGE THAT, ITS NOT EVEN THAT IMPORTANT IN THE MISSION DESCRIPTION BUT THEN YOU NEED TO KILL YOURSELF IN THE GAME TO GET INSIDE THIS BOX THAT IS VERY DANGEROUS CAUSE YOU ARE CONSTANTLY GETTING HIT BECAUSE ITS LITERALLY THE ENEMY KILLZONE ALL SO YOU CAN ACTIVATE A SCRIPT (if you managed to do so) THAT GETS 10 MORE TANKS TO AMBUSH YOU FROM ANOTHER ANGLE, all could have been avoided if this stupid box didn't exist because the main mission goal has already been achieved but it just didn't get activated by this stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tripwire. Alot of the vehicles don't have proper animations, and in many cases those animations are important for gameplay, for example the BRDM2 has a problem with the commander or drivers lights which are ontop of either copula, so when I switch to turret sight optic and turn, this thing is infront of me, and my barrel is clipping through it, but its not moving along where I am aiming so I could SEE what I'm trying to shoot at, If I recall one of the BMP's has this problem too, which funnily enough has not been a problem in war thunder for a game that is not so serious is able to properly not only depict the moving of this light along where your aiming to not obstruct your view, but it has a animation for it at the very least, lots of vehicles here do not, it is not only with the BRDM2 that there things in the way of what you can see, I think the T-80 or the 64 has the machine gun above the turret block your view when you are trying to use the binoculars, the M60 a western American tank has this problem too. For advertising as realistic which is not and a break off of immersion, the range finding in this game is not accurate, for example the T-72M doesn't have a automatic range finder, IRL the range finder shows in a digital display for the gunner inside the tank and he is suppose to turn a wheel to match the number via using the optics of the T-72 tank, however the way its depicted here is you aim and press E and boom done you are good to go, or for the Abrams where its a instant automatic range adjustment, so you could spam E and shoot and reload at the same time, funny thing is in the bradely if you go from outside view and switch guns you could see your barrel instantly go up and down to adjust the range based on the velicoty of the weapon you have chosen Xd, then the M60 has this weird optical illusion minigame thats also on another T-72 in the game like what ??? I'm not sure if i'm suppose to instantly know every single detail IRL about a IRL tank, but the game assumes you already do know so, and this goes into this other problem, the tutorial is absolute trash, its the same for any vehicle infact the tutorial is not about the vehicles its about the games basic keybinds, it doesn't tell you that oh there is magically this turret lock when you switch to a malyutka ATGM and a optical shield that hidners your vision and only goes away AFTER you launch your malyutka ATGM, how am I suppose to know this ? the game literally does not tell you this, it just tells you to drive and shoot at targets for the tutorial. I found the vehicle showcase mission that is hidden under the tutorial very cool, it shows you unique good model ed vehicles that other games have not bothered to add, like the T-64R that was a very cool and shocking thing to wittness in the game. There is no driver view, or other views from the copula, only specific tanks can look through copula, there is no interior, the tactical planninng feels very limited and at times feels very out of your hand, you can't rely on the AI cause its a very basic AI that is found in every other game like its such a basic AI its really realy really basic its one of those AI's that if you ask it to move somewhere it would unironically try to reverse into there out of conveinience, or reveal its side because its doing some stupid ♥♥♥♥ when its not suppose to because WE ARE TRYING TO ADVANCE TOWARDS A FRONTLINE the AI is very basic, I don't know what to say they really didn't think much into it, so why even bother with this whole tactical platoon management dear devs ? Okay listen to this, what the hell is with this BRDM2 mission ? go and scout the enemy tanks, okay, ♥♥♥♥ the boxes are back, okay I will scout to see if the boxes are clear, then I run into a hidden enemy ambush which has the entire box as a killzone, you know where this is going, the mission is to locate enemy tanks for the hinds, first off locate HOW ???? if I get to close I will die, if I peak from afar and see them (which I did) the game won't register it not even from the voiceline inside your vehicle EVEN THOUGH I COULD SEE THEM FROM BY BINOCOLURS, I also managed to without dying get all the boxes, stupid boxes, the hinds did not come, they did not bother, EVEN AFTER ALL OF THAT ???? Wheeled vehicles like the BRDM BTR have a really basic non creative or distinct driving, its the same in every other game, you might find it even more sluggish, and a higher chance of tipping over and ending the game. Tank driving feels weird, the Soviet tanks cannot drift, the American tanks easily get stuck, all tanks have a diffecaulty in turning especially when they are not going forward or backwards just static turning. Bradely gets its ass whooped by a minor inconvenience, slightest breath of air wrecks this thing, this is suppose to be a uparmored IFV, it feels like its instead a civilian car with a texture of a bradely. And its not like this games concept or advertising is new, there are other games on older engines that hold up better to this, they have full fledged interiors of all kinds of tanks, they aren't even considered games rather simulators for the amount of ♥♥♥♥ that goes into them, okay sure the graphics are not as good as this one and I will give it that, but then this game feels like its barebones, and they have the excuse to say so because they decided to do one of those early access slop games. :(
