About

In GROUND BRANCH, you will play as the elite paramilitary arm of the CIA's Special Activities Center/Special Operations Group (SAC/SOG) and lead other special operations forces through challenging deniable ops all over the globe. With deliberate, calculated and unforgiving gameplay, GROUND BRANCH aims to be the true rebirth of the tactical realism genre of the late '90s and early 2000s. Powered by Epic's Unreal Engine 4, GB puts the "tactical" back in "tactical shooter" — no compromises.
GROUND BRANCH's unique True First-Person System improves world immersion and awareness of your surroundings, providing zero disconnect between your view and your character's physical presence in the environment. See your foot sticking out of cover? Better tuck it in — enemies may be able to see it (and shoot it) too, but only if their line of sight and muzzle are verifiably unobstructed. Cameras are placed at the character's eyes and bullets originate from the weapon's muzzle. Managing your height over bore when shooting around obstacles or aiming for precision in CQB is critical. In GROUND BRANCH, what you see is what you get.
A minimal HUD with multiple optional elements ensures that vital information is available, but never a constant obstacle to either immersion or your field of view.

Say goodbye to pre-defined kits and fully customize your character. From gear, basic appearance, and outfit, to in-depth vest and weapon platform customization, down to individual pouch and attachment placement. What you bring to your mission is determined by your loadout choice, which carries realistic consequences: with the encumbrance and stamina system, too much equipment will impact your character’s speed and performance; place a scope too forward on the rail and your sight picture will be too small; bring a long rifle into CQB and weapon collision may prove a hindrance.
Forget unlocks, microtransactions and loot boxes. Ground Branch operators get all the right tools for the job straight away — courtesy of the Agency.
Whether in 8-player co-op or 8v8 adversarial game modes, GROUND BRANCH’s unforgiving gameplay makes careful and calculated teamwork essential. Gather your teammates and practice in full-featured training areas, including shooting ranges with dynamic targets and a killhouse with multiple floor plans. Integrated VOIP with both 3D positional voice and team radio ensures full communication capabilities with no need for third-party software. Text chat and pre-recorded voice messages (commo rose-style) are also available for the mic-less and the shy.
Prefer single-player? Missions with friendly A.I. and a full command system are planned for the future.
In the tactical shooter realm, movement and weapon handling are king. Take full control of your character with standing, crouching and prone stances, each with multiple movement speeds. Unique weapon postures (including low- and high-ready), leaning, free-look (head movement independent from aim), and optional and customizable free-aim (dead zone) put every part of your movement in your hands. Add dedicated mouse sensitivity sliders for point-shooting, unmagnified, and magnified aiming, and highly configurable key binding options.
You can also alternate between default actions of certain controls, such as whether a bolt action operates itself after firing or requires another click to operate.

⏳ GROUND BRANCH's unique "campaign" format will deliver smaller, more localized sets of missions based around global hotspots, with a centralized intelligence interface to monitor them and receive new mission orders over time. The choices you make along the way may affect future engagements.
☑️ Based on unique environments all over the world, the non-linear mission and map designs offer multiple entry points and open-ended outcomes.
☑️ Enemies are spawned at mission start, with a degree of randomization to quantity and location. No "monster closets" or magic enemy spawns based on player location or mission progress.
☑️ Ready Room: A physical multiplayer lobby where you can plan your approach, see your teammates' loadouts, test weapon configurations on a firing range and jointly select insertion points.
☑️ Full and 100% free dedicated server support. Host a server wherever you want!
☑️ Unit patches that can be attached to your character's sleeves and gear.
⏳ Full support for MP ladders.
☑️ After-action review (AAR) following each mission/round.
☑️ Server-side options.
⏳ Full mod support.
☑️ No item unlocking, hit markers, kill confirmations or score pop-ups.
⏳ Weapon bracing/supporting.
☑️ Varied arsenal: Multiple handguns, submachine guns, carbines, assault and battle rifles, machine guns, DMRs, sniper rifles and explosives to choose from, with a full suite of optics and attachments to complement them.
☑️ Map variation: In addition to day and night versions as well as weather variation, maps have small details that can change between rounds, such as doors and windows that may be open, closed or blocked.
☑️ Unlimited loadout save slots.
☑️ Item sharing/dropping/pickups.
☑️ Accurate ballistics with penetration, bullet drop and stopping power simulation.
⏳ No regenerating health or health packs: Administer first aid to non-lethal injuries that would further reduce combat effectiveness if not treated.
⏳ Location damage model: Expect visible injuries and consequences, such as limping, reduced arm function, and/or hits to stamina and accuracy. Players immobilized from a non-lethal injury can stay in the fight.
⏳ Drag teammates to safety to administer first aid – or to safely recover their ammo, gear, or cargo.
☑️ Appropriate and realistic playable female characters.
☑️ Partial controller support (configurable).

Awful optimisation, crashes, using a RTX5080/13700k/64GB DDR5 on a 3440x1440 resolution monitor, and FPS with everything on epic is about 70-80FPS, the game doesn't look that good so it doesn't seem like a fair trade honestly. Stiff-ish animations, not a large player base for PVP (The one's that play don't really talk or seem to want to have fun in a video game, which is a shame because I have fond memories of PVP from years ago when I originally bought the game) I think for a 1.0 release it's disappointing.
I gave up this unfinished game years ago, I disnt want to give it a bad rating because whatever the game is simply to big for what devs are capable. But than 1.0 hit and its just a marketing trick, I still didnt want to give it a negativ review. Than I saw response from Devs in the Forum and I am just sick and angry how smug they are. Screw them, herr is your damn review. Thumbs down.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This game is a f****g piece of crap. There's no balance, no point. Bots shoot through smoke, occasionally killing you with a single shot, barely seeing you from a mile away. Sometimes, they can't kill you point-blank even after emptying a whole magazine. There's no overarching goal in the game itself, and achievements aren't exactly expected in this genre. It still feels like a cheap demo shooter with elements of tactics and shooting at stupid bots or players. This is where the map imbalance and lack of spatial logic come into play. While I understand that balance is rare in real life, at least it's surmountable in real life, unlike in a game where you can't do anything about it. This crap isn't worth the money. Better buy a couple cups of coffee or some flowers for your mom!
1.0 update is pretty darn good so far +bread
## GROUND BRANCH Review – Good Concept, But Gameplay Needs More Work I like the concept of **GROUND BRANCH**, especially the realistic tactical-shooter direction, but there are several things that really bother me and that I think need improvement. ### 1. Night Vision and Weapon Optics The first problem is how **night vision goggles interact with weapon sights and optics**. When I turn on NVGs, I can still see through certain optics, but when I try to use **iron sights**, the weapon and sight picture become extremely blurry. It makes aiming very uncomfortable. I understand that real NVGs have limitations when focusing on objects that are very close to your face, so I am not asking for completely unrealistic crystal-clear vision. However, this is still a video game, and the current implementation feels more frustrating than immersive. There should be a better balance between **realism and playability**, especially when using iron sights or different aiming methods with NVGs. ### 2. AI Feels Like an Aimbot Instead of Tactical AI This is probably one of my biggest complaints. The enemy AI's accuracy is simply too powerful. Sometimes it feels less like fighting trained enemy soldiers and more like fighting a **999% aimbot**. I would much rather see the AI become dangerous because of **tactics instead of superhuman accuracy**. For example, AI should: * Suppress the player's position. * Flank from the left or right. * Use cover and concealment. * Coordinate with other AI. * Attempt bounding movements. * Fall back when taking heavy casualties. * Reposition instead of standing in one location. * React differently depending on their training level. I would gladly fight AI with slightly worse accuracy if they actually tried to **outmaneuver me**. That would make firefights much more interesting and tactical. ### 3. Weapon, Gear, and Faction Variety Is Too Limited The weapon and equipment selection also feels too limited. I understand that a lot of players like the **Navy SEAL / DEVGRU / Special Operations** style of weapons, uniforms, plate carriers, helmets, and accessories. There is nothing wrong with that. But not everyone wants to build another DEVGRU-style operator. For example, if I want to create a **USMC-style loadout**, my choices are much more limited. I would like to see equipment representing more military branches, units, countries, and different time periods. Give players more freedom to create the operator they want instead of concentrating so heavily on one modern Special Operations style. ### 4. The Game Needs More Gameplay, Not Just Better Graphics My final concern is the overall gameplay. GROUND BRANCH looks good, and the graphics and weapon customization are impressive, but sometimes it feels like most of the development has gone into **how the game looks rather than what we actually do in the game**. Graphics alone cannot carry a tactical shooter. The game needs deeper gameplay systems: better AI behavior, more interesting missions, better enemy reactions, more tactical situations, improved team interaction, more meaningful objectives, and more variety in how missions play out. I want situations where I actually have to think: **"Where is the enemy going to move? Are they flanking us? Should we suppress them? Should we fall back? Should one team support while another team assaults?"** That is the kind of experience that would make GROUND BRANCH feel like a true tactical shooter. ### Overall GROUND BRANCH has a lot of potential, and I want to see it succeed. But I think the developers need to put more focus on **gameplay depth, tactical AI, equipment variety, and playability**. Don't just make the enemy shoot better. **Make the enemy fight smarter.** That would improve GROUND BRANCH far more than simply giving AI extremely powerful accuracy.
Re-installer pour la version 1.0 en espérant au moins avoir des AI ami pour cette version, et bien non. 5 min de jeux , Désinstaller.
great game! very tactical but fun and nice nvg implementation!
New AI update and new running mechanics are terrible. AI bots one shot you in the head after popping up out of no where even on untrained.
Карту убрали Run Down. Она веселая была, как и Арена. Такое ощущение, будто заходишь в Тарков, только тут хоть вооружение не теряешь, просто умираешь по 30 раз и, дай бог, один раз выйграешь.
