About

In GROUND BRANCH, you will play as the elite paramilitary arm of the CIA's Special Activities Center/Special Operations Group (SAC/SOG) and lead other special operations forces through challenging deniable ops all over the globe. With deliberate, calculated and unforgiving gameplay, GROUND BRANCH aims to be the true rebirth of the tactical realism genre of the late '90s and early 2000s. Powered by Epic's Unreal Engine 4, GB puts the "tactical" back in "tactical shooter" — no compromises.
GROUND BRANCH's unique True First-Person System improves world immersion and awareness of your surroundings, providing zero disconnect between your view and your character's physical presence in the environment. See your foot sticking out of cover? Better tuck it in — enemies may be able to see it (and shoot it) too, but only if their line of sight and muzzle are verifiably unobstructed. Cameras are placed at the character's eyes and bullets originate from the weapon's muzzle. Managing your height over bore when shooting around obstacles or aiming for precision in CQB is critical. In GROUND BRANCH, what you see is what you get.
A minimal HUD with multiple optional elements ensures that vital information is available, but never a constant obstacle to either immersion or your field of view.

Say goodbye to pre-defined kits and fully customize your character. From gear, basic appearance, and outfit, to in-depth vest and weapon platform customization, down to individual pouch and attachment placement. What you bring to your mission is determined by your loadout choice, which carries realistic consequences: with the encumbrance and stamina system, too much equipment will impact your character’s speed and performance; place a scope too forward on the rail and your sight picture will be too small; bring a long rifle into CQB and weapon collision may prove a hindrance.
Forget unlocks, microtransactions and loot boxes. Ground Branch operators get all the right tools for the job straight away — courtesy of the Agency.
Whether in 8-player co-op or 8v8 adversarial game modes, GROUND BRANCH’s unforgiving gameplay makes careful and calculated teamwork essential. Gather your teammates and practice in full-featured training areas, including shooting ranges with dynamic targets and a killhouse with multiple floor plans. Integrated VOIP with both 3D positional voice and team radio ensures full communication capabilities with no need for third-party software. Text chat and pre-recorded voice messages (commo rose-style) are also available for the mic-less and the shy.
Prefer single-player? Missions with friendly A.I. and a full command system are planned for the future.
In the tactical shooter realm, movement and weapon handling are king. Take full control of your character with standing, crouching and prone stances, each with multiple movement speeds. Unique weapon postures (including low- and high-ready), leaning, free-look (head movement independent from aim), and optional and customizable free-aim (dead zone) put every part of your movement in your hands. Add dedicated mouse sensitivity sliders for point-shooting, unmagnified, and magnified aiming, and highly configurable key binding options.
You can also alternate between default actions of certain controls, such as whether a bolt action operates itself after firing or requires another click to operate.

⏳ GROUND BRANCH's unique "campaign" format will deliver smaller, more localized sets of missions based around global hotspots, with a centralized intelligence interface to monitor them and receive new mission orders over time. The choices you make along the way may affect future engagements.
☑️ Based on unique environments all over the world, the non-linear mission and map designs offer multiple entry points and open-ended outcomes.
☑️ Enemies are spawned at mission start, with a degree of randomization to quantity and location. No "monster closets" or magic enemy spawns based on player location or mission progress.
☑️ Ready Room: A physical multiplayer lobby where you can plan your approach, see your teammates' loadouts, test weapon configurations on a firing range and jointly select insertion points.
☑️ Full and 100% free dedicated server support. Host a server wherever you want!
☑️ Unit patches that can be attached to your character's sleeves and gear.
⏳ Full support for MP ladders.
☑️ After-action review (AAR) following each mission/round.
☑️ Server-side options.
⏳ Full mod support.
☑️ No item unlocking, hit markers, kill confirmations or score pop-ups.
⏳ Weapon bracing/supporting.
☑️ Varied arsenal: Multiple handguns, submachine guns, carbines, assault and battle rifles, machine guns, DMRs, sniper rifles and explosives to choose from, with a full suite of optics and attachments to complement them.
☑️ Map variation: In addition to day and night versions as well as weather variation, maps have small details that can change between rounds, such as doors and windows that may be open, closed or blocked.
☑️ Unlimited loadout save slots.
☑️ Item sharing/dropping/pickups.
☑️ Accurate ballistics with penetration, bullet drop and stopping power simulation.
⏳ No regenerating health or health packs: Administer first aid to non-lethal injuries that would further reduce combat effectiveness if not treated.
⏳ Location damage model: Expect visible injuries and consequences, such as limping, reduced arm function, and/or hits to stamina and accuracy. Players immobilized from a non-lethal injury can stay in the fight.
⏳ Drag teammates to safety to administer first aid – or to safely recover their ammo, gear, or cargo.
☑️ Appropriate and realistic playable female characters.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

1.0 seems to have introduced some new bugs that I hadn't had previously. There's an odd audio bug where people in an adjacent room through a closed screen window shooting are inaudible. There's odd mouse capture issues so you can click out of the game window by accident in windowed mode. 1.0 also doesn't seem to add that much? There's only 1 campaign mission added, and you can solo it. I've had the game for a while, but probably wait a bit before buying it if you are considering.
Honestly i find myself coming back to this game quite often only yo play for 20 min and uninstall to go play operator again. it has sooo much potential but it genuinely has too much jank. the armory system needs heavy reworking. the gun customization could be lightyears better compared to operator. runs fine and plays decent but it feels extremely dated in the gun physics, movement system, weapon customization. while there is a large selection of camos and different ways of customizing the operator it just feels like it has too little going on for itself all in all. id give it a solid 5.9 out of ten. not quite on the level of RON or OPERATOR but its got potential. seems like the modding community is the only reason this game has survived as long as it has.
你家AI人均CAG是吧?光影黑的,看不到人优化还变差了,去年看这游戏还有潜力,正式版搞了一坨给我,你家老乡人均枪法一个比一个准,不知道我还以为是在跟特种部队打。
Ground Branch has always been fine. It has great customisation, pretty decent weapon variety and creating loadouts is quite user friendly. Most of my time was spent recreating kits and weapon builds from real photos. The gunplay is fine, not amazing, very robotic and lifeless, but consistent as a result of that. Bullets do not penetrate most surfaces, including clutter such as cardboard boxes. A lot of the weapons feel very similar as you can only change attachments, not weapon components such as barrels, handguards etc. Movement feels terrible, it is exceptionally bouncy and unstable. Trying to hit someone on the move at any distance past a few metres is very difficult with the new locomotion. The only differences between this new locomotion and the old version that I have noticed is you bounce a lot more and your arm no longer bends funny in low-ready. Performance wise, this game used to run great, even on my 1060 (with tuned down graphics). Currently, it struggles to get 50fps with my 3060 at high settings and with Picture in Picture scopes it often drops before 40. Additionally, PiP scopes are very blurry with TAA on, but turning TAA off makes foliage very jarring to look at. The AI is horrendous. It switches from aimbot to lobotomised on a dime. You might get instantly headshot passing a window, you may find a guy stuck on a door. I have found guys oscillating 180° like a radar dish searching for me several times. Despite being a 1.0 release, the game is not finished. The devs have stated this several times that this is just a milestone. This can be misleading as version 1.0 is almost always the finished product, and some do believe the decision to call this 1.0 was to cause an influx of purchases for some extra cash. Several major aspects are missing, most notably is the medical system and the equipment for the Special Purpose equipment slot. Currently you have one health pool for your entire body, get shot enough times (usually twice) and you die. You can die from a spray to your legs. The same applies to the AI, you can kill a guy if you spot his arms clipping through a wall or a door and put two rounds in them. The Special Purpose equipment slot has been around for way too long and nothing has been added for it. No breaching tools, launchers or anything at all to fill that slot. It just sits there with zero purpose, a reminder that the game despite being in development for well over a decade is still missing many essential features. The Devs update schedule has been terrible in the past. The game hasn't changed much over the past few years, it is still mostly the same. The Devs said they will update the game more regularly and often after this 1.0 update, that may happen but they have shown a lack of effort in delivering regular updates the past 8 years and it's hard to believe a "Trust me bro" statement with 8 years of examples that show they could not keep a regular update schedule. Overall I would not recommend this game in its current state if you want a very realistic smaller scale MilSim experience, for that I highly recommend Operator. The game is a little better for messing around with friends for a couple of hours and then sitting in your library for a few years. My advice is wait and see if the devs can keep their promise of regular updates and add the features this game so desperately needs as it has a lot of potential and could be magnificent.
Dont get this game unless you want to deal with, enemies having inhuman reaction time, obsolete armor, instant headshots, bullets doing no damage, steam cloud errors, constant crashing (my pc specs are shared), then by all means get this dosgshit!
wheres the go back button?
Pretty Great game tho I recomend to wait for a SIGNFICANT overhaul as 1.0 while it did improve on a lot its really not much of a full release as the game remains pretty much in development early access so you would wanna wait for a signifcant update that actually changes a lot more and new content and overhauls.
8 years and it's... Meh. My biggest problem has not improved, and it's the AI there are also SO MANY bugs it's crazy.
