Grotto

This is probably one of the most unique games I've played. The main issue for me was not understanding what the constellations meant, as (particularly at the start) you may intend to tell someone something and they interpret the constellation you give as meaning the opposite. However, as I progressed I mostly got used to what they meant. Just after I was annoyed as I got annoyed as I thought that the people misinterpreted my answer to a very important question, I realised soon after that this decision likely wouldn't have mattered anyway, and also the game changed a LOT but in a good way. Pretty much everything you'd gotten used to up to this point was changed, which I think was done really well, and then the final part of the game changed the gameplay quite a lot with an amazing ending.

Very emotional story ... If I had an opportunity to play this game for the first time again, I would take it and sherish it.

Liked the art style and game overall. There were some problems with people not understanding what I tried to suggest and some star signs not really being related enough to be an answer. Also some signs were annoying to draw and took multiple tries until game accepted my efforts. Still, I don't regret my time and money spent.

Grotto is a truly unique experience, you won't find another game that makes you think so deeply about meaning and interpretation. A story full of harsh realities and horrible choices. It is very rare to get such incredible storytelling.

A relatively short narrative game with a surprising degree of emotional depth. Visitors come to your cave with questions and you respond to those questions by giving them constellations you find in the stars. Of course, these cryptic messages are up for interpretation and not everyone understands metaphors; often I would set out to answer a question one way only to have the visitor come to the exact opposite conclusion. Later in the game you receive tools which allow you to contact deceased former visitors, who advise your decisions and offer up commentary on recent events. The majority of the game is "on the rails" and most of the major plot points are inevitable, so there's not a lot of replay value to be had. The bulk of the fun comes from the story. The characters are nuanced, their dialogue is well-written, and the questions they pose are genuinely interesting. Definitely worth a playthrough!

Доволі цікава історія, на мій погляд. Голос бейкалі надає ще більшої атмосфери, може трошки пізніше перепройду цю гру ще раз. Візуал, що правда, спіцифічний, якби я не повьязаність цієї гри з лайкою мабуть не взяла б.
