Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1786.14/day in the week to Jul 25 → 17.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I don’t think I can fully explain how much this game means to me. I’ve played it on multiple platforms, borrowed a friend’s Switch just to play it again, streamed it for my mom, made my best friend play it, watched countless other people experience it for the first time, and bought it for probably six or seven people at this point. I even have Gris tattooed on me. There’s just something incredibly human about this game. Grief and loss are things we all experience eventually, and Gris manages to tell that story without needing to say a single word. The music, the art, the way the world changes as she moves through different stages of grief—it all communicates something that I think people can understand even if they don’t know anything about the game going into it. I especially love that the stages of grief aren’t completely separate from one another. They overlap and bleed into each other, because that’s how grief actually feels. It isn’t a straight line. I still listen to the soundtrack. I still cry every time I play. I still love watching other people experience it for the first time because I want to know what it makes them feel. I’ve recommended a lot of games in my life, but this is the only one I’ve repeatedly bought for people just because I genuinely believe it’s worth experiencing. If you decide to play Gris, maybe keep some tissues nearby.

-Quick Review- Gris is a beautiful artistic 2d platformer indie game developed by Nomada Studio and released in 2018, where you play as a lost girl named Gris who is dealing with a painful experience in her life. The story description is left vague because there’s no dialogue of any kind and the story is told with music and imagery. Review Video: If you don't like reading, or are curious about watching gameplay check out my video here: https://youtu.be/LG93A0-dGCI -Detailed breakdown review- Story: As has already been said, the story for Gris is told without dialogue, without narration, without text. Another strength of this style of storytelling in this way is that it becomes universally accessible regardless of your spoken language. Gris (the lost girl) has had her world shattered by some traumatic life event. The visuals are obviously meant to be interpreted metaphorically. The Game starts with Gris being held in the hand of a crumbling statue, Gris attempts to sing but can no longer do so, at this point Gris falls with the crumbling statue and all the color in her world is lost. You’ll spend the next few hours helping Gris struggle her way through the trials and tribulations to bring color back to the world and empower Gris to get through the ordeal. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3701562967 Gameplay: Gris is a 2d platformer, so the controls are super simple, movement is A and D or directional inputs if you’re using a controller, jump, stomp, and sing buttons. I think Gris is slightly better when played with a controller because the layout is more natural, however you can play Gris on several different platforms and it’s good with keyboard controls too… just use what you’ve got available. One of my favorite parts of the game is how at the end of each chapter, a new color was added to the world as Gris gets a bit stronger. It’s a very powerful narrative tool and Gris is chock full of good sometimes-subtle narrative cues to watch for and appreciate. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3701565239 Conclusion: I picked up Gris a year or two ago while it was 90% off and figured “what the heck, I’ll give this artsy fartsy game a play”. I had never heard of it and decided to give it a go because I added it to my Wishlist due to its interesting and pretty visuals. And I’m really glad that I did get it! Will I remember this game forever? Nah. Did Gris really connect with me on an emotional level? Kinda-sorta? I’ve got stuff going on in my life right now, I think everyone’s got stuff going on. So, in that way Gris did connect with me. However, I didn’t connect in the same way I grieve; but that doesn’t mean I don’t have an appreciation for Gris and its beautiful music and visuals. …But I’m going to leave it at that, because if I go into any more depth there, I will start to cry.
What a beautiful game, with a beautiful story, and beautiful music. Going into Gris, I was not expecting it to be a story about grief, and slowly piecing everything together until I finally unlocked the Childhood cutscene hit me like a train. The ending cutscene actually made me cry. Gameplay wise, puzzles were not impossible to figure out and I didn't have to look up any guides, which I'm grateful for. 10/10, definitely recommend.
I don't think I've ever played another game that understands grief the way Gris does. On paper, it's a simple side-scrolling platformer with no dialogue. In practice, it's one of the most emotionally resonant experiences I've had in gaming. It somehow tells a deeply personal story almost entirely through movement, color, music, and visual symbolism. Every new ability feels less like unlocking a mechanic and more like watching someone slowly learn how to carry the weight of loss and use it. The world shifts alongside the protagonist, moving from empty, colorless landscapes into earning the colors back through puzzling them out. The soundtrack deserves just as much praise. It doesn't simply accompany the game; it becomes part of the storytelling. There were moments where the music alone conveyed emotions more effectively than pages of dialogue ever could. Combined with the breathtaking art direction, every chapter feels like walking through a different stage of grief, each beautiful in its own heartbreaking way. Gris is proof that games don't need combat or lengthy scripts to leave a lasting impact. It uses the strengths of the medium to tell a story that couldn't be told quite the same way anywhere else. By the time the credits rolled, I wasn't thinking about the puzzles I'd solved or the platforming challenges I'd completed, I was thinking about loss, resilience, acceptance, and the quiet hope that life can become colorful again. Gris isn't just a game. It's a piece of interactive art that gently reminds us healing is rarely loud or dramatic. Sometimes it's as simple as taking one more step forward.
