About

A faithful priest of the Orthogonal order–exiled unto death for a crime in defense of another–you live again in a small boat, adrift in a swamp. A stranger ferries you to solid ground and bestows upon you a cryptic warning, along with a mysterious staff and book. Go forth, pious priest, alleviate suffering, uncover deceptions, and smash the eldritch perversions encroaching upon reality itself.
Perhaps you will even earn your peace.
A marriage between modern development tools and techniques with a stark late 90s aesthetic brings the first person action-adventure GRAVEN to life! Featuring character designs by Chuck Jones (Duke Nukem 3d, Half-Life) and the voice talent of Stephan Weyte (Blood, Fire Emblem, Dusk) in a dark yet distinct medieval fantasy experience.

Solve puzzles and scour lore to uncover the motives of the foul heretical sects behind the plagues and seasons undermining the land.
Spread fires, charge machinery, reveal hidden paths, and freeze rivers to walk across.
Discover new weapons and upgrade them at blacksmiths and alchemists to customize your capability.
Expand your horizons by returning to old stomping grounds with new abilities and seeing how far down the chasms go and what powers they hide.
Slay over twenty distinct enemies and three bosses in an ever broadening world across multiple biomes.
Band together with up to 7 friends in hectic cooperative play.
Walk the parallel path, lest you stumble into the recesses of the world and reality becomes only a bitter plaything.

Graven is actually a pretty good game when it works. I liked the atmosphere, exploration, level design, and most of what the game was trying to do. The combat could be better, but overall I was having a good time. Then my save completely broke. I died, clicked “Save and Quit,” and when I loaded the game again, I was in the correct location but the game acted like I had started a brand-new playthrough. All my weapons, items, and money were gone. I had 0 coins and 0 weapons, which means I couldn’t buy anything, fight anything, or continue playing at all. My save file is now basically useless. I saw the negative reviews mentioning bugs before buying it, but I ignored them because I thought I could handle a few glitches. This isn’t just a minor bug, though. It completely prevents me from playing the game. There is a good game underneath all the problems, but I absolutely cannot recommend it in this state. Don’t make the same mistake I did and ignore the negative reviews.
Considering the fact that first quest is completed by a whole third of players people today are just too lazy. The game is not a walk in a park, but if you didn't manage through first mission: you are missing SO MUCH FUN. Amazing atmosphere and quite snappy combat. It is definitely recommended.
Play game, die after 4 hours, decide you're taking a break, quit the game. Next day, launch the game, press continue, you spawn in a hub. That's where you were 3 hours ago, all the enemies are respawned and you end up wasting your time going from place to place and killing all the mobs that give you nothing but a few coins. Overall I liked the game game. Environment was nice, story was not bad, HOWEVER melee combat is annoying and you gotta spam and cheese monsters, while you are just gonna take nonsensical hits from humanoids in melee. This game was literally everything I was looking for and I could overlook the melee, until this waste of time checkpoint garbage showed up. Not worth wasting my time.
Crashes often. Co Op is a nightmare - no customization options. Items will magically disappear from inventories of any or all players, save up all your coins for a weapon? Yeah, that weapon is gone, good luck replacing it. Sometimes items will spawn back in your inventory. Invisible walls - sometimes they will allow one player through and then lock the other players behind it. Major problem with a game that is essentially a maze. Once you log out of the game it's a gamble: Are you gonna be soft locked out of progression? Are your items going to be where you left them? Graphics and art style are great, music and overall atmosphere are interesting and nice to look at. Enemies are decent. Level design could be great? But because progress is stymied or reset or locked - I give this game a 1/10 only because it looks nice and has a neat story and setting. Graven is frustrating and unplayable. I even bought copies for most of my friends - what a waste. I am insulted. DO NOT BUY.
