About

A faithful priest of the Orthogonal order–exiled unto death for a crime in defense of another–you live again in a small boat, adrift in a swamp. A stranger ferries you to solid ground and bestows upon you a cryptic warning, along with a mysterious staff and book. Go forth, pious priest, alleviate suffering, uncover deceptions, and smash the eldritch perversions encroaching upon reality itself.
Perhaps you will even earn your peace.
A marriage between modern development tools and techniques with a stark late 90s aesthetic brings the first person action-adventure GRAVEN to life! Featuring character designs by Chuck Jones (Duke Nukem 3d, Half-Life) and the voice talent of Stephan Weyte (Blood, Fire Emblem, Dusk) in a dark yet distinct medieval fantasy experience.

Solve puzzles and scour lore to uncover the motives of the foul heretical sects behind the plagues and seasons undermining the land.
Spread fires, charge machinery, reveal hidden paths, and freeze rivers to walk across.
Discover new weapons and upgrade them at blacksmiths and alchemists to customize your capability.
Expand your horizons by returning to old stomping grounds with new abilities and seeing how far down the chasms go and what powers they hide.
Slay over twenty distinct enemies and three bosses in an ever broadening world across multiple biomes.
Band together with up to 7 friends in hectic cooperative play.
Walk the parallel path, lest you stumble into the recesses of the world and reality becomes only a bitter plaything.

holy ♥♥♥♥ man this game is soooooo trash
I quite liked Graven - I found the first map a bit confusing because its large, complex, and there isnt a map/easy way to add waypoints etc to help remember where stuff is - its very old school! But when you get ok with playing an old school game again, and engaging neurons which dont fire in modern ganes, you'll find its well made, its fun, it has great combat (lots of varied weapons, and elemental effects), its well balanced etc. Stuff I liked less: walking through water (its slow). But you can shoot water with electricity and shock everything in it, including you, so thats neat. Not realising you can only go through some "doors" after you get items later in the game and travel back to uncover secrets. Losing money on death - and I died a bunch :) I wont play this through again, while its a good game, its not GREAT.

Mixed feelings. The game's current Steam reviews are much worse than the actual experience, in my opinion. At its core, this could be a great game, but it feels like it was never properly polished. You’ll constantly run into small bugs, weird physics, and other little issues. On top of that, the mandatory searching for objects and key items became increasingly frustrating. The game doesn’t provide a map or much in the way of guidance, so if you come across a locked door, you might end up spending the next two hours searching for a key — only to realize it was something you were supposed to find earlier. That being said, the gameplay itself is enjoyable, and personally, I think the atmosphere and visuals are really strong. I finished the game, and if you really like what you see in the screenshots and have the patience for some of its rough edges, I’d definitely recommend giving it a chance — especially during a sale.
Just don't. Unmodded Death Kings of the Dark Citadel is much better.
Opening cutscene struggled to play and crashed the game the first time I watched it. Framerate was all over the place, made me nauseous. Artwork looked cool, game looked interesting, but not enough to put up with bad optimization.
I did write a really in depth review of this game as I love it, 10/10, really gave me Hexen II vibes and took me right back to the 90's with the amazing late 90's early 3D art style which is stunning. However I decided not to bother to post it as at the end of the day despite me not having a single problem with the game the developers were totally lazy and did not fix issues that can ♥♥♥♥ you right over and hard lock the game. There is a guide on how to avoid this on forum pinned at the top which I did use, however some problems are down to pure luck, for example spawns and losing all your inventory and while I did get lucky you might not. As a game its great, but as a working product its ♥♥♥♥♥ and that's why I cannot recommend it, a real shame.
This game is underrated. Sure it was a chore to play through it and I'm glad it's over, but you should still try it out if you see it on a really good sale. It's a very unique game, not exactly a boomer shooter and not exactly an adventure game. It's something in between with an original atmosphere to it. I liked the graphics too.
Graven is a first-person game made by Slipgate Ironworks with a strong Metroid-like pacing. As a pious redeemer, you go into a place of gloom and misery, prone to helping the people, completing quests, and freeing cities from doom throughout three chapters. The graphics are a great version of pixel art style, with fluid animations and nice effects. The town is your hub; from there, you go around paths in one huge set piece with many different sections that sometimes intersect with each other through discovered shortcuts. Despite its size and different themed chapters, all map sections are very generic, drab, fairly identical, and infuriatingly labyrinthine. Just like Metroid, you need certain items to unlock new sections, meaning that you will move to and fro from the same place many times. The lack of a map does not help the enjoyment of the constant backtracking through environments that look the same, while trying to find where to go or how to unlock the thousands of doors that constantly stop your progress. There is a good weapon variety, using ammunition and magic to fire, but they all feel mediocre, with the exception of the fletchant. Even when fully upgraded, they do not feel like they pack much of a punch against your enemies, with few exceptions, while the enemies can easily kill you with two or three taps. Upgrading your weapons is possible, but it is a massive chore. Each new upgrade demands a huge amount of gold, which is given in pinches, requiring actual grinding at the risk of dying and losing a percentage of it. This game also has a unique feeling of unresponsiveness permeating the gameplay. Things do not seem to react as they should, nor do they give you information about whether certain mechanics were activated or dealt with, resulting in a constant uncertainty about what is required to progress. There are also plenty of bugs and visual glitches. Bugs can permanently break side quests like Overdue Fees, locking you out of unique rewards and achievements. And apparently, in early access, the game had a map, but the developers had the idiotic idea of removing it, making the gameplay even more miserable. Graven was badly planned and, even worse, executed. Without surprise, its most basic achievement rate is so low.
Нет. Просто нет. Даже не смотря на клевый художественный стиль, и некоторые прикольные геймплейные решения. Игра недоделанная и забагованная. Хотя уже давно вышла в релиз. Нет друзья. Это просто трата денег и времени.
