I will say, this is my first go through of Grandia 2, or the series at all. So this is completely divorced from nostalgia. Which is awesome, but unfortunately, if you haven't played some games growing up you don't have on those nostalgia goggles that can turn a game from bad to enjoyable, or good into amazing. I'm happy to tell you, that isn't a concern with this game. At first I thought, huh this is a cute quaint little jrpg. The music's good and - uh oh the main character is a bit of an abrasive teenager.....hopefully that doesn't bode ill. From there, the plot got started quickly and I've been enraptured in it. Which is a huge compliment since alot of pieces of media aren't able to capture my attention lately, but that's not the case with Grandia 2. WOW! I've been stunned by how good and mature the story is. It truly earns the title of masterpiece with it's incredible and deeply relatable characters and npcs. I was floored by how on the nose and to this day relevant things that even random villagers will say. I'm constantly just asking peoples opinions(in game)...CAUSE IT'S INTERESTING! WHAT A NOVEL CONCEPT! For example, just a random completely optional npc will tell you that he is exhausted, but still has to work. Saying something like: "I guess I'm more exhausted than I thought." "You need to take a break and rest. You can't sell away your health or there's no point" "Yes, but if i take a break or rest I'll make less. I can't afford to have a lower income, do you understand?" Ha! Oh brother, you and me both! Anyways, I say all that to say that Grandia 2 is a mature relatable and emotional journey that I'm very excited to continue! Definitely give it a try. Was worth every penny.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Aug 2 → 0.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

And so my replay of Grandia II has come to an end as well. Though honestly, calling it a “replay” feels a bit weird… the last time I played and finished it was all the way back in 2002 (♥♥♥♥, I’m old), and aside from a couple of random moments, I barely remembered anything about the story. One thing I can say for sure is that I absolutely loved it 24 years ago, and I still think it’s an amazing game today. Beyond the great story and soundtrack, as a JRPG its combat system was incredibly well designed and never felt boring, even after hours and hours of gameplay. I still can’t figure out why the final dungeon keeps giving you chests full of gold when you literally can’t spend it anymore especially considering there’s no NG+, but that’s one mystery I’ll just have to live with 😂 Anyway, for anyone who loves JRPGs, this game is an absolute must-play, and thankfully it’s pretty easy to get nowadays thanks to the HD Remaster (even though, in the end, despite owning it on Steam, I still preferred playing the Dreamcast version). Score: 9.5/10
I enjoyed this better than the first game. The story has more serious tone than the first game, the ability progression is better in my opinion (Special & Magic Coin is better than grinding the skill for level up).
Jogo nostalgico RPG divertido , simples e legal
