Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Sep 3 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Choose your side in the American Civil War: Real-time campaign, spanning from Secession to the end of the war, with historical objectives for both sides.
Five campaign scenarios (Pre-War, 1861, 1862, 1863, 1864) and twenty (20) stand-alone battles from 1st Manassas in 1861 to Appomattox Court House in 1865.
Change history: What if European superpowers intervened to end the war, or Lincoln lost the presidential election of 1864?
Scott’s Great Snake: Lay siege, raid and blockade your enemy on land and sea or use blockade runners to keep the life-lines to Europe open.
From Fort Sumter to Appomattox: Watch closely the morale of your citizens and troops. As the war drags on, fervor turns to fatigue, the treasury threatens to run dry, and measures like drafting will cause unrest.
Keep the armies marching: Build and manage the flow of supplies to your armies. Utilize and expand railroad lines to supply and move armies for the first time in history!
Pivotal battles: Fight battles lasting multiple days on historical battlefields. Use engineers to build pontoons and dig trenches, see reinforcements change the tide and commit your reserves to defeat the enemy.

Command Great Armies: Huge armies of infantry, cavalry and artillery, with realistic command structures and historical Order of Battle.

Reaaaaaally wanted to like this game, but I don't. I think my main problem with it is the financial system. For starters, it's a very thought out financial system. It's linked with alot of the gameplay. You decide how much to spend on for example military, diplomacy and economics. You can see how much various goods cost in the world and adapt accordingly. You can see what your nation is lacking and need to import, and build accordingly. Depending on how much you spend, you can, after some time, activate different projects which gives you various bonuses. The cost of these projects varies on how good this project is. Some cost a few hundred thousand, others millions. With that in mind you also decide on policies which in turn also can affect your economy in various ways. And all of these have synergies if you play your cards right. This is what sold me to this game. Building a strong economy and crush my adversary. In similar games I like to consolidate my finances as much as possible before going to war. I read somewhere that this game is focused on the financial aspects of war, as one of the developers really dig it. So as I started my first game as the Union my long term plan was to build an economic powerhouse and hold the line, slowly starving the Confederate. I did my usual rodeo in Grand strategy - built a bunch of economic stuff. This gave me a negative balance and bad credit rating. Fair enough I thought, the new buildings will give me more tax revenue so in the long run I will more than make it back AND it will improve my credit rating. After that - I will focus on the war effort. Now the problem here is that the time span of the civil war is to short for the economics to kick in, basically making some of the financial system redundant? I'm doing a question mark here as I can't claim being an expert and perhaps the reading I have been doing online is wrong, but it's the conclusion I come to. The general tips online is - don't build anything. Now don't get me wrong, the game continues, you can still go to war with crippling debt. But the foundation for me, on how to play the game, felt like a rug pull. I can't build an economic powerhouse. It's all about choosing the right starting policies, building armies and doing the grand strategy element. I understand that this game is all about realism during the civil war, so going into debt is almost inevitable (which is the case for all warring nations), but giving the player tons of options to expand on financials when the truth is.. you will be punished if you invest is odd to me. Then again, if the purpose is realism, I guess it is. The leaders of the nations did not know how long the war would drag on. BUT for a game to be very focused on an aspect which in the end doesn't help the player.. what is the point in implementing it? It's a circle argument. Okok I get it you don't like the economics, what would you do instead? There is no clear cut answer to this. But if economics is supposed to be a big part of the game (as it seems to be by design), then I would have the game start a few years earlier, giving the player more options on how to prepare for the war. Then again, if the purpose of the game is to be true to history, my solution won't help. But that's what I would do. Other than the financial system, I did enjoy the gameplay. It's a lot of buttons and things to learn. If you have played Paradox games in the past - it's similar. Steep curve, but not impossible to grasp the main parts. You will manage troops, brigades, divisions, whole armies, setting up logistics, fleets, keeping an eye out for which time of year it is (attrition is a killer!) and keeping an eye on spending. I also enjoyed the policies which really made you think, adding a new (for me) flare to grand strategy. Not to mention the projects which also is a direct result of how you choose to spend money. All of this is a lot of gameplay so I wouldn't say this game isn't for anyone. It's just not for me. Be aware some bugs are present. I encountered one where the speed buttons disappeared and shortcuts did not work so my first battle dragged on for a good hour or so.
the game is very fun and I am thoroughly enjoying the game play.
i like how the AI commanders aren't anything like NTW. We all know the AI there is garbage, But in this game their actually good. they won't just expose their flank in the middle of firing, or devote 90% of their army to the strongest point of their line with no cohesion. And I can't wait for the commander campaign to come out.
Bought this for the Whiskey & Lemons DLC but the game does not detect that i have the DLC even after reinstalling it. Waiting for a fix....
Title: Grand Tactician Civil War - A Revolutionary Gaming Experience Rating: 10/10 Grand Tactician Civil War is a game that redefines the strategy genre, offering a level of depth and immersion that sets it leagues ahead of its contemporaries, even surpassing the renowned Total War series. The fusion of real-time strategy and RPG elements creates a gaming experience that is both intellectually stimulating and emotionally engaging. The AI, while occasionally showing signs of inconsistency, does not significantly detract from the overall experience. It's a testament to the game's brilliance that even with these minor hiccups, players find themselves irresistibly drawn into the Civil War era. One of the few drawbacks lies in UI bugs, which can occasionally disrupt the flow of gameplay. The use of 20x speed may also lead to unexpected shifts in unit morale. However, these issues, while noticeable, are minor in comparison to the game's many strengths. The development team behind Grand Tactician Civil War has proven themselves to be a cut above the rest. Their dedication to crafting an authentic and engaging experience has won them the admiration of players worldwide. It's heartening to see indie developers outshine some of the biggest names in the industry. The community's enthusiasm is evident in the way this DLC has propelled the game to new heights, even boosting my creator's YouTube channel, CY3RC. This level of passion is a testament to the game's unique ability to forge a deep connection with its players. The desire to support this game is palpable, and the willingness to back future features and patches is a sentiment echoed by many. The dream of expanding into other eras and genres is one that resonates with fans, who eagerly await the possibility of experiencing history through the same groundbreaking formula. In conclusion, Grand Tactician Civil War stands as a shining example of what indie developers can achieve when fueled by passion and a commitment to excellence. It may not be without its imperfections, but these minor flaws are eclipsed by the sheer brilliance of the game. For lovers of history, strategy, and immersive gameplay, this title is nothing short of a masterpiece.
awesome strategy game
Devs released a DLC, hotfix for it, and then just abandoned the game. Edit: I stopped playing the game for awhile. The game is not abandoned, and now it seems like the dev team is trying. I'd recommend waiting a bit and paying attention to patch notes as game is sometimes good but other times isn't; playthroughs are hit or miss.
