Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Sep 3 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Choose your side in the American Civil War: Real-time campaign, spanning from Secession to the end of the war, with historical objectives for both sides.
Five campaign scenarios (Pre-War, 1861, 1862, 1863, 1864) and twenty (20) stand-alone battles from 1st Manassas in 1861 to Appomattox Court House in 1865.
Change history: What if European superpowers intervened to end the war, or Lincoln lost the presidential election of 1864?
Scott’s Great Snake: Lay siege, raid and blockade your enemy on land and sea or use blockade runners to keep the life-lines to Europe open.
From Fort Sumter to Appomattox: Watch closely the morale of your citizens and troops. As the war drags on, fervor turns to fatigue, the treasury threatens to run dry, and measures like drafting will cause unrest.
Keep the armies marching: Build and manage the flow of supplies to your armies. Utilize and expand railroad lines to supply and move armies for the first time in history!
Pivotal battles: Fight battles lasting multiple days on historical battlefields. Use engineers to build pontoons and dig trenches, see reinforcements change the tide and commit your reserves to defeat the enemy.
Grant vs. Lee: Manage hundreds of historical commanders with personal attributes and specialization. Famous commanders inspire soldiers and citizens alike and loss of reputation can be irreparable.
Command Great Armies: Huge armies of infantry, cavalry and artillery, with realistic command structures and historical Order of Battle.
Bring the Civil War to life: Amazing Civil War re-enactment and combat footage from LionHeart FilmWorks, and an original soundtrack of old time music and drum and fife band.Updates

As far as civil war games go, this one is one of the better ones. I do have some hangups, but let's begin with the positives: 1. The recruitment process is accurate as is the purchasing of new weapons and building ships. 2. All the aspects of the armies are pretty good. Everything from morale to supply lines and outfitting different units with different weapons are realistic and make a difference in the game. Lose morale and your army won't fight, lose your supplies and your army cannot fight. All very realistic. 3. Different leader attributes can impact how battles are won or lost. Doesn't do to put an engineer in charge of a cavalry unit when you go into battle. For the cons, I have a few. 1. I've been playing this game for a full month now on the hardest and most aggressive settings and I find I win every time, usually well before 1861 is even over. 2. There are a few glitches that still need to be worked out. I've noticed that sometimes when an army engages in battle, it instantly retreats and the morale is broken. This despite going into battle with high morale. The same is true of supplies. There are times I'll build and equip a supply depot, but local troops still seem to suffer. 3. Recruitment times in some states seem to take forever. Not sure why. I tried to recruit a few New York brigades in my last game and they took almost 50 days. But if I recruit from New England or Ohio, they spit out units in half that. 4. the blockade or raid feature is nice, but I'm not 100% sure it's working the way it's supposed to. I often blockade a port, but it seems to have no impact on local trade. Other than these things, I find the game highly addictive and as realistic as any strategy game out there. Just needs a bit more tweaking. 4 out of 5 stars.

i legit almost have 400 hrs and realized ive never once played or even loaded a union campaign just stockholm syndrome trying to win but make it last until atleast mid 1863-early 64...rough or i just suck. i love the campaign map and the commander portraits and unit and army building aspect of the game and the realistic supply mechanics. i bought it when it was still in development and mehh, but a few years later came back to it and well i play it alot. AOM mod is better and i recently started modding it for fun if your big into grand strategy you may like it but i certainly wouldnt tell anyone to pay $44 dollars for it. real nice of the developers to go on to the next game so quickly hopefully its good
Buy it on sale and really only buy it for the whiskey & lemons DC in combo with the AOM mod. Outside of that you can probably have more fun with something else. Not bad but not great without that combo.
For what i spent 45$ its a huge let down... the long and short of it is that its very buggy, super jank, awful ai, and like i said for the price it should have been better. Very close to being good with the managing your units, the economy, and other stuff, but the actual meat of the game the battles are simply not very fun to fight. Damn shame too because i really wanted this game to be fun.
This game was a waste of my money. AI is broken plus gamebreaking bugs. ♥♥♥♥ the developers
good game they need to improve the campaign ai maybe make it more historical
I have a 37k Union army in DC defending against an invading Confederate army of 44k. I have all the choke points defended. My entire army is out of Ammo on the 1st day at 1300 hours. I have depots all around DC. It doesn't make sense!!!
As much as I could (played 51 hours) I just could not get around the absolutely poor AI performance. I regularly had the northern armies loaded on rail move speedily around the map and then past my armies. The AI armies do not seem to be affected by all the limitations put on players especially readiness and recruiting. Massive armies (especially Union) armies pop up all over the place seemingly weeks after the war starts. The CS armies, meanwhile, are barely assembling and then crushed. Don't believe me . . . read the discussion boards. Unbelievably frustrating and (for me) ultimately not playable.
For me I do not bother much with the base game but the Whiskey and Lemons DLC is a ten out of ten the graphics of this game are a 7 at best but the game-play more than makes up for it, being able to make your character starting with a single division working your way up with that starter division fighting with you throughout the civil war, I found it very fun and sun over 50 hours just playing that mode. As a brit with no interest in american history this game got me into the history of america and its civil war so if that is not an statement to how fun this game can be I do not know what is. However due to the clunkyness at times of certain mechanics I would advise waiting for a sale as the base game and dlc bring it close to 60 pounds which I do not believe is what this game is worth I would place it closer to 30-40 but that is a personal opinion.
Devs gave up on this game for their newest title Napoleonic Wars. AI is horrible most times. The concept is good, but lacks in multiple aspects. What updates it did get were minimal and virtually did nothing. Whiskey and Lemons was the last (best) update, and even then it fell short. I have tried to enjoy the game, but with its current state, is difficult.
