I'm a huge fan of other character action games, such as Kingdom Hearts (which this seems to take inspiration from gameplay wise) and Devil May Cry. This is an extremely promising game that I will certainly be keeping an eye on for news and content as development continues. Pros: Platforming through levels is enjoyable, and levels have hidden secrets for you to find (as well as a tracker in level select to let you know if you missed them). Combat is both engaging and satisfying, allowing both ease of entry and rewarding mastery. I cannot understate how much I love the aesthetic, both visual and sound design. Cons: The general movement (such as walking and jumping) is in my opinion slightly visually stiff, though this does not extend to the fast paced combat where movement is both fluid and satisfying. The general inability to quickly land and continue attacking enemies while remaining grounded (since the moves that send you to the ground launch enemies away, and the quick chase puts you airborne) means that grounded combos and launchers are not used much without going a bit out of your way to use them. The 3d models being unfortunately relatively low poly (something I am more than okay with, especially given that it makes the game easy to run) sometimes causes them to look a bit goofy in cutscenes, though look great during gameplay. Conversely the 2d artwork is amazing, and the 3d models are on model, with the cutscenes doing a great job of emulating the 2d look with the 3d models most of the time.
This game is the perfect blend of Kingdom Hearts Devil May Cry. It's very stylish and fluid and addictive. I can't wait for the next chapter. It also has a very chaotic NTWEWY vibe as you are tagging characters in and out.
Absolutely love that you can feel the love for both DMC and KH in the game's overall feel and gameplay
I backed this game on Kickstarter after playing an insanely solid demo, and it's even more solid now in EA! It's very very obvious the devs looked at DMC and Kingdom Hearts and took away the right lessons from them. It took me a bit to get used to the tag system, but now, 6 hours in, landing a successful tag combo makes me want to fight god. I'd say the potential is there... but I don't think that's the right thing to say, because I think it's already proven itself as an incredibly solid game. It's got the sauce!! It's got a lot of charm and personality while still being a really passionate love letter to the games that inspired it. It doesn't hide it either, which I love. Yes I will be soypointing at everything Also whichever review said the final boss is like a KH Data Boss is so right. Please check this game out and get your ass handed to you. It's so much fun SPOILERS FOR FINAL BOSS: they made a fight with skillset homages to my two least favourite DMC bosses (Gryphon and Sanctus) and made it fun. i was having FUN. didnt think it was possible. omg. keep up the good work you mad lads
I've followed Genokids for ~2+ years now and I'm glad this game finally saw the light of day. I love the art style and the combat feels incredibly smooth. I'm not typically a fan of games of this genre, but the art style and combat had me finishing all of Act 1 in a day. Fun times!
como fan de devil may cry y los hack n slash esta bastante infravalorado y el sistema de combate es fluido e intuitivo
i need more hype
