Crashes at the same spot even with workaround applied

I played this years ago, and have been itching to get back into it again. It would seem I'm running into the same issues y'all having - can't get it to run. "There has been an error executing application. If you press abort, mini dump file will be created in Z:\var\home\me\.local\share\Steam\steamapps\common\GenesisRising\bin." (Press retry to debug using debugger) The missing folder issues seems to be fixed - they are there. I do not think Steam should be selling a non-working game; seems like fraud to me.

Childhood game. Will forever be a nostalgic part of my past.

I'm glad to have find a tips to correct the bug and start playing ! It's a old verry great game and I spend a lot of time to finish it. Today, I'm starting again <3

it does not render on the rtx 2080 ti. it is an interesting game however. just wish the developers had fixed that rendering problem. i tested its multiplayer mode and it is stable. it is not exactly easy to play because the gameplay involves fighting very strong neutrals but, it works perfectly. i can unfortunately not recommend it in its current state. the game`s unit cap is built around capturing space stations. that gameplay mechanic does not work at all. capturing stations is completely broken and the invasion genes does absolutely nothing. the game is also very unbalanced, to the point where one faction is very strong and the others is useless(at least the military is weak compared to the defiance). gathering blood from destroyed enemy units is also flawed, as there is a timer on them.
